Meet the Brotherhood of Steel impersonators in Fallout 76! These guys are notorious for scamming people in the wasteland by pretending to be in the Brotherhood of Steel.
Yet again, a lack of fleshed out content and half done npc's and dialogue that could have made for exciting storyline content or even dailies of hunting these guys for the ABOS...
they seem like the normal BOS..just they need better power armor and a few laser weapons lol

They're a terrorist group, basically. Militant, quasi-religious fanatics obsessed with hoarding Pre-War technology.
Not all technology, mind you. You don't see them raiding hospitals to cart away Auto-Docs or armfuls of prosthetic organs.
No, they greatly prefer the sort of technology that {emphasis}puts people in hospitals. Or graves, rather, since hospitals went the way of the Dodo.
Because they're ridiculous! Because they galavant around the Mojave pretending to be Knights of Yore. Or did, until the NCR showed them that ideological purity and shiny power armor don't count for much when you're outnumbered 15:1.
The world has no use for emotionally unstable techno-fetishists. Just wipe them out, will you?

They seem to be using the same Playbook as the BOS...walk around and, then demand you do what they tell you, or else.. Seems like the BOS i know.
the best part is that in Fallout 3, the BoS everyone knows is more impersonators then these guys are. Since the BoS are just assholes who want all pre-war tech for themselves, meanwhile the Capital BoS just wanna "help everyone get along!"
@@DrCranberry only Lions BOS is helpful and that is only semi-helpful. They complain about having to help others all the time. In fallout 4 after Lions death, the BOS sees Lions as a fool, and count it as a black mark on their history.

I wish we could identify ourselves as Brotherhood of Steel when meeting these 3, kinda like when we meet "Preston Garvey" in Fallout 4 and introduce ourselves as the general.

Especially after you become Knight Errant. Given these guys aren't BoS and it's so fancy, they'll crap buckets!
i met that dude with the real preston garvey as my companion and i was very disappointed that he didn't have anything to say about it. i want to say he "didn't like it" when i killed the imposter even.

Barry seems like a genuinely nice guy that just got in with the wrong crowd
I got more of a Patriot Wannabe Cop vibe from them;applied for service but got turned down so they cobble together what they can and claim to be official
Wait I just saw Barry yesterday but the other two were missing, he was being mauled by radscorpions

Funny part is, nearly 200 years after this encounter the brotherhood literally arrived in a giant metal airship at the commonwealth

If you didn’t notice, when he chose the sheepsquatch option it started the free range public event which is the sheepsquatch event, so it really did summon a sheepsquatch

I actually like the guys and would have loved to see an option like "I know you're not Brotherhood, but here's 50 caps anyway."
Also I find it super weird that they attack you after one of them explodes by no apparent fault of your own.
IMHO "Brotherhood Barnaby" sounds like he's five seconds away from wanting to recite the Navy Seals Copypasta.
I kinda want to read it in his voice now

Guys, can we actually talk about how long all this would’ve taken? I know they have likely places to spawn but still. I’d be so pissed if a unclear dialogue option killed them cause I’d have to restart again

I love those special dialogue options that affect their group, like Buck explodes and the distant sheepsquatch roar. I want more dialogue like that.
The explosion and sheepsquatch roar was pretty funny
These guys, surprisingly are one of the most advanced people alive in appalchia. Theyre the only people with excavator pieces, T-51 pieces, and T-45 pieces. Only out-armored by the BOS, vault dwellers, hellcat mercenaries and technically the enclave. Impressive I'd say.

It would have made more sense if Bethesda added more dialogue for some closure to Shawn's misfortune and stating to Knight Shin that *we* randomly encountered those impersonators and dealt with them accordingly. I never ran into any of those knuckleheads, unfortunately.

I've encountered this at least once which was a surprise to me. They were escorting a lot of people and the one with power armor was demanded that I hand stuff over but I use the speech check to tell him that these fusion core was malfunctioning which caused fusion core to blow up killing him turning most of the group hostile.
The response with the airship in the sky is a reference to how the brotherhood of steel appeared in fallout 4

Be careful, when i ran into them barry had a 11mm smg and he told me he fought a deathjaw and shot a paladin through the eyeslits.

How many characters did you have to swap through to get all of this? For the record, this is the first I heard of being able to meet them. But then I have over 2000 hours in FO4 and have never met the fake Preston Garvey either.
I've only met him once and I shot him cause I'm a raider lol
I met the fake one on nearly every playthrough. Began to get sick of it!

I feel like these three were inspired from Red Vs Blue... Barry reminds me of Caboose definitely, Barnaby reminds me of Sarge and Buck reminds me of either Griff or Tucker
10:28 there are 3 divisions of the BoS; 1. The order of the Sword, 2. The order of the Shield. And 3. The order of the Quill
One of the best lines ever in a game when they are about to die is, "I love you Sarge."

Awesome video man. I don't have a lot of time to play now that I am older so being able to watch these at during the week helps so that on my downtime I can get on with the mission and not waist time and still know what is said. Would have been great to have this with NV and F3 lol

i ran into these guys in the southern lookout point in the savage divide, got the blow up power armor ending. had no idea it was actually part of the BOS storyline. Some dedication by Rifle to get all the dialog

I commend your tenacity for going through that for us. I've always wondered what happened or if it furthered the story any with the brotherhood but they're just goofy goons worth running into for a chuckle.

I have been watching you videos all day! The video where you bought out low level players stuff was awesome! I made a 500+ level friend and he's been helping me level up and showing me the ropes and it means so much to me, cause I was LOST! Keep it up bro!!!
I have also come across them on the road that runs between Lewisburg and Rollins Labor camp and just east of Garrahan mining headquarters on the road.
I like how the event free range popped up as soon as you chose the Sheepsquatch dialogue

in my time spent, the sheepsquatch option has actually spawned a squatch. i believe it does most of the time.

When I first met them I was so impressed I built a brotherhood of zeal base in the cranberry bog (just a couple of trailers and a broken house)
The flying airship line is like a little Easter egg to fallout four about the prydwen
Funny I was playing 76 while watching this video right after you did the sheepsquatch part I ran into one in the same area

Cool but again they dropped the ball on making any of it connect. They have some great ideas but some of the decisions leave the game feeling half done. None of the decisions you make in the bos or wastelanders have "real consciences" like they claimed. Nothing like the other games. Thanks for your hard work did not even know this was a thing.

I spotted them during Meat Week on the those tracks. They died as part of the interaction with another NPC. I was kind of busy so I didn't pay attention.

When I saw these guys I instantly thought back to the bandits from Skyrim passing themselves off as legit imperial legionnaires. So when I saw these guys I laughed soo hard I was in such a good mod I paid them and went on my merry way. Such a hilarious reference!
There is a little secret i came upon last night.its two dead bramin and a skull. If you interact you hear the sheep squash.its by the ash area where the train station is.
