@wnc817, so you are saying that asians are all bad drivers, but when it comes to another race, it's the type of car that's to blame? pretty much proves my original claim.

Can confirm the thought of "Look at that guy, they all do that." When I was young, 3 girls from Nepal started going to my school. Well, these girls started bullying me: closing lockers on the braid I grew for 4 years, pushing me into walls, stealing papers from me, etc. Seeing as I was told they came from a different culture when I first me them, my 10 year old brain went "I guess everyone from Nepal acts this way." I still don't know why they bullied me, but I later found friends from Nepal and similar areas who did not bully me and were actually quite nice. This, thankfully, helped me learn about the difference between individual behavior and collective behavior.

@Stayoutlatetatebate I mean I get what you mean, but tribalism purely on the basis of race is racism. Lions don't separate groups by how different they look to each other, it's a family thing. Like some random Australian person wouldn't be from my tribe, but my black brother in law would be. Also humans don't have the same social dynamics as lions, unless you'd qualify the typical family as one man and a group of women and their kids, except the sons that they kicked out after they hit puberty. Don't let simplistic analyses of animal behaviour turn you against your fellow man.
@Stayoutlatetatebate I fail to behold a time in which we have based ourselves on the likeness of wild animals. It is most often that we attempt to shy away from such urges and become something more. Simply look at the buildings near you or the clothes you wear. Perhaps your use of English is enough to persuade you of how unusual it is to consider likeness to animals a beneficial or well formulated societal concept. Simply put, I do believe it was racism as it was based on race but, unlike animalistic instinct, I was able to overcome my fears and misconceptions of that race and it turned out well.
I’m not one to judge or stereotype people but that “they all do that” is something I’ve caught myself thinking on a number of occasions Just a quick edit since I don’t think I expressed this properly, but I DO stereotype people sometimes, it happens for sure but I’ll never let that change how I’ll treat someone.
This is so true. I was the only black girl in a few of my classes in Sweden and I could be doing nothing and people would make the wildest assumptions. And I had lived in the countryside of Sweden as well as the capital. If you are a minority people will make assumptions no matter what and they will apply it to your whole race
This is very true and it makes sense seeing how if there is a classification of people you dont usually see and you see them do a certain behavior that you dont usually see your brain just puts them together. And I wonder how that plays with a "minority" 's personal identity over a lifetime (when a stereotype seems so true to your classification, that you think the only appropriate thing to do is the stereotype)
The only reason why this is so funny is because it's literally true But to be fair, if you're a white guy in Asia and do something like this, I bet you. It would be thought as the same
Honestly, that's not even a new stereotype... Asians eating offensive-smelling foods in shared spaces is a well-established stereotype, and we all hate you for it already. So eat your tuna, bro.
