I don't mind that hull color at all. The interior has a classic look that I like. It gives me nostalgia vibes. Nordhavn do make very nice yachts. This one looks like it could be handled by a couple.
I grew up right there on Kent Island. Lived about 3 miles north of Stevensville. Back in the 1950's the water was nice and clear and there were plenty of fish, clams, oysters and crabs. I wonder what's become of the place?
A few hundred cans of white spray paint and that hull problem can be rectified. Not sure how to fix the mobile home stateroom finish. Luckily, I’ve never seen that in another Nordhavn so there’s plenty of good ones out there. I had Nordhavn in my top 3 along with Fleming and Marlow, until recently reading a lot about the N120. I’m concerned about quality problems hidden from easy viewing, including wiring labeling and improper electrical grounding in external areas. Do think this was a one-off or some systemic manufacturing problems? I hate to say that I would rather buy one used, after problems have been fixed, than fix problems on a new one. Nordhavn has dropped to #3 for now. Thanks for the great videos as always. Greatly appreciated.
Slonge: One of the great things about boats is that each one has its' own personality. Most "MeToo" all look alike boats stay in the marina and fly their cocktail flag. Nordhavns travel. I've been aboard Terrapin on both coasts and in five different states, including BC. Many people love the green color (especially and most importantly the wonderful lady who picked that color). Let's just say it stands out every place it visits and Nordhavns already draw a crowd. The white interior is special, kind of rare, called a "Herreshoff" look. It's classic and harkens to a different era which is what the original owner wanted (he did the same on his prior Nordhavn 47). Thanks for your note. If you are really in the market to one day own a trawler I'd suggest you get a broker to work with who can get you aboard these boats. Don't believe everything you see on RUclips, see for yourself. rather than doing your learning on RUclips.
BrianS: The white laminate instead of teak was a special order from the original buyer. It's not as popular as a wood finish, maybe 5% or less of the Nordhavns do this, but it really opens up the room and allows a flood of bright colors to lighten it up. To each their own, current and past owners love it.
