You people in the comment section only talk about race as if it matters at all. What matters is what they stand for. Diversity is pointless, if it happens let it happen, if it doesn't let it not. This year's midterms show that society isn't that racist and that people usually don't care about race, so diversity isn't necessary anymore. People are having the affirmative action mindset, which means regardless of how qualified a person is, his race matters more. Such an ignorant attitude.

You're naming common dem policy for Jared Polis, but actually the dude is cool because of his great other policies: Protecting Privacy, Drug legalization, protection Crypto currencies and many other social-libertarian stances!
I'm at least glad that the top comments understand how much of a deal this is for some minorities in America. When you've always had a face in power that represents your own, it's hard to believe that others would struggle to feel represented without seeing someone who looks like them in the government. With time, we may see diverse groups of people in power with diverse ranges of political stances, but this year those "firsts" were important.
