I'm a buddhist. But I love when Colbert and Pratt talked about their Christianity passionately. It's like they are expanding my mind. So I don't get it why some atheists have problems with that. When some Buddhists judge Muslims, some Christians judge Buddhism, some atheists judge Christianity or some Islamics judge atheists, it's hate, not love. People have freedom to believe what feels right to them.
I'm a Christian, and I completely agree with you. God made us to love each other, not to hate. Some radical atheists indeed need to slow down.

I suggest not to split between believers and none believers just because it suits a personal outlook. Many people who 'believe' turned out to be some of the most hate filled, judgmental bigots I have been unfortunate enough to encounter. I have also found many others to be the most humble, kind and giving people in all their interactions. For example Chris in that moment truly shines.

Why would a religion who believed in Creation believed that women (created by God) is inferior, especially given how big a role women played in several Biblical stories.

I'm atheist, and crazy pious nonsense usually irritates me, but this time I'm more irritated with people's comments shitting on Pratt for expressing his faith. He never mentioned anything supernatural here, he talked about his church in a way church should be talked about. It SHOULD be a place for community and inner development. His "inner light" idea is merely a metaphor for integrity, internal personal development, and overcoming difficulties in the face of intimidating odds and pressure. This effects all humans, regardless of irrelevant spiritual viewpoints. He found a quote that helps HIM understand himself better and he wanted to share it, which is what good people do when they discover something beneficial to our species.
And even if he had mentioned sthg supernatural- that’s HIS BELIEF. Why do other people care so much? He wasn’t trying to recruit anyone!! People are free to speak about their sexuality, but not their religion? 👀 Thanks for your comment.

I have plenty of friends who are involved in some sort of religious faith and we get along just fine. However, unlike Hillsong (which Pratt is involved with and publicly promotes) none of them adhere to a belief system that says I need conversion therapy because I fail to adhere to their narrow definition of acceptable sexuality.
I don't like him because he believes I should be changed or dead. Not because of his faith.

I successfully did the Daniel fast and felt amazing after the 21 days! I even tried new fruits and vegetables because my options were limited. I already can’t wait for my next one!

Ian Cook I’m agnostic and I completely agree with your statement. I may never understand why people believe everything in a book where males dominate everything and if I’m to believe the Adam and Eve story then I have to come face to face with the fact that we were built on by incest considering that there was supposedly only those 2 people. There are too many other things that bother me about the Bible but what I hate more than anything is organized religion. Too often these places are only there (regardless of the religion) to indoctrinate people and abuses by the so called “holy men “ are absolutely horrid!

Daniel refused the King's food. That's why he ate fruits and veggies rather than the rich food.
He refused the kings food as the first portion was given to idols. He saw it as unclean. But in ch 10 he went back to that as a fast to seek God in his grief.
I appreciate Chris Pratt's religious expression. He speaks his mind but doesn't condemn others who don't share the same beliefs. He and I may not see eye to eye in regards to everything, but I'm not bothered or offended by his faith.

I love when celebs talk about their faith, as it’s considered “uncool” by society nowadays. Everyone deserves respect, religious or not
I'm an atheist, but it's refreshing to see two *actual* Christians for a change, who sincerely believe and follow Jesus' message of love and peace and forgiveness and helping each other and all that, rather than the hypocritical pricks who proclaim they are Christians the loudest, but are "Christians" in name only, conveniently ignoring his actual teachings.
I don't really care what your reasons are for being a GOOD PERSON, but if you are one, we cool, even if you believe weird stuff.

The church he attends is Zoe Church in Los Angeles! Best atmosphere, the best pastors, and the best people! For all these people who are bashing him, I dare y’all to attend a service. @Denam I appreciate the explanation. So true Christianity isnt anti-gay, it says very clearly in the Bible that homosexuality is a sin. But we dont hate the people, we feel bad for them, and some(like this church) want to help them. Im not well versed in conversion therapy, and Im not a big believer in the effectiveness of therapy, I hope we can find a medical cure, but from what ive heard conversion isnt the way to go(as it sounds abusive and very damaging).

When homosexuality is blatantly treated as a sin, its no wonder they don't want someone who actively participates in it to be in their leadership. Its not like they're saying that gay people aren't allowed to attend services or they don't want to associate with gay people. And even if you do wanna say that a couple people in that church have had homophobic comments, that doesn't automatically imply Chris has the same position.

@@donghyukoh8305 Oh Boy. That's a very hard question to answer without spewing out a lot of text. Mostly I am atheist though grew up Northern Baptist, and so I don't really believe in god. I also live a life that doesn't line up to a lot of traditional church values so finding a church that would fit would take a lot of work which I'll be honest I'm not committed to putting in.

I'm not a religious person but I absolutely respect what Chris is doing here. People dont realize you don't have to believe in God to hold Christian values. Their values are literally love everyone regardless if you agree with them or not. Its hate the sin not the sinner. I respect Chris so much for being so open and passionate about what he believes in
No offense, but Christian values is about Christ in us, it is the life that flows from Jesus ,beyond ourselves. It works in the sense that goodness from Him pushes you to give to someone that doesn't deserve it and not giving for example to someone that in your own goodness deserves it ,following the inner dealing of the Holy Spirit. Christian values always have Christ= God at the center.
