Any time I get a notification from you, Blackie, it's like being a kid again and waking up for school. There's the anticipation of the unknown with the reassurance I'm going to see my best buddies, learn something insightful and useful, and have fun during all of it. Thank you, sir. ATB, JD
Good idea. My haversack is tall and boxy. I added lash points at the bottom and top. That way I can remove the strap and carrabiner the haversack to my pants in the same fashion.
Great video, Blackie. Ingenious, but simple and easy. I think I’ll dig out my duty belt and try the same idea with the belt keepers. One caveat. People need to make sure to wear a proper belt. I always wear a 2” wide reinforced belt. This won’t work while wearing a wimpy “fashionable” belt.
I can appreciate the combining the carry of the Blackbird Haversack with a rucksack. The Blackbird Haversack has advantages in its design that many others sacks do not share., which allow the carry position to be modified. Seems like the weight of the Haversack through the pants belt loop would tug on pulling my pants downward as I walked. It would be interesting to try your set up with a military surplus waist belt to help spread out the weight of the Haversack. Just trying to think my way through the challenge. Thanks for sharing. - Tennessee Smoky
I'm a wheelchair-user. AND I weigh less than 100lbs. I've found that I can attach my rucksack to the back of my chair like normal, THEN set my haversack on my feet atto foot rests and tie the haversack strap to the bars that attach the foot rests to the frame of my chair. Now my only concern is if my chair takes a tumble, I am essentially straightjacketed into my chair lol. Trying to configure a better setup
Clever setup. What brand of Alice straps are those for your rucksack? What type of Alice strap do you use for your Blackhawk rucksack/knapsack? Do you ever use a backpack frame? If so, what kind of frame?
Just a thought but i think making that into a chest pack would be way better I use a similar system it acts like a counter balance . Also when i take off my pack i retain my chest rig .
Hello, I'm new to the channel but looking to get on the order list for the Blackbird haversack. If you don't see this Blackie, can anyone else direct me on how to put in for one? Thanks!

thank for the comment ..it does ok for me the haversack is less than 8 pounds as i load it..but it could need extra support for a heavier bag

If so, what kind of frame?
Soldiers of the 18th and 19th centuries carried both plus cartridge boxes and a bayonet without much bother.

Thanks, you too!
Just a thought but i think making that into a chest pack would be way better
I use a similar system it acts like a counter balance .
Also when i take off my pack i retain my chest rig .
it can be worn as a backpack or as a chest pack to allow a rucksack on the back..i will show this in a upcoming video..thanks for the comment
Not gonna lie the thumb nail looks like you're doubling over from a hit to your haversack lol
