Love that you added the top zippered flap on this, Blackie. The overall haversack reminds me of the "traditional" haversack (which I love and use all the time)...But that flap is a phenomenal upgrade!
I like the kit. I never had a haversack. A while back I was looking at a Helicon tex bag but I didn't get it. I already have 11long term survival kits. I have my hands full with doing maintenance on all my kits. I only practice weekly with one but I keep all of them maintained. I enjoy it. People tell me I'm crazy. Don't care. Ain't no shame. Great video. Enjoyed. Rangers clear the way Charles ❤️
I’m staring at it as I wipe down the brown bess carbine and realize that I needed 2! Kinda hard to leave it home no matter what stuffies I’m trying to keep ‘smalls’ handy. 👍 Hollar if you do another batch.
I have a different haversack and I don’t judge others but I do carry a compass and other stuff. I will admit of winter I’ll still have that in my personal bag for my gloves and wool scarf or neck gaiter.
Great setup... I would like a headlamp better than the penlight... but that’s just my opinion...I can’t wait to get my bag waiting on the 2nd 50 to be shipped... thanks for all you do Blackie... keep up the great work 👍💪👊
It was very satisfying watching and waiting to see what you would pull out next. Very good video. I want to get a blackbird haversack. Where do you get it? Thanks from Mississippi.
You know Blackie I wanted one of those when you was asking about them. But just when you said people promise then don't get them. I was one but I gotta say my world fell apart but I've put it back together better hopefully stronger. If you make some more I'd really like one. I like to set one up as a oh shit bag. What really makes yours different then anything I've seen is the flap pocket. Anyway love your content really like to meet you sometime your a wealth of knowledge
Great set up blackie remember the days that my cargos carried .ost of my gear my hunting bag .... Carried the rest now we use haversacks lol great idea
What about putting the chamber adapter into the buttstock. What pops into my head is the cleaning kit door on m1 garand. Now I’m gonna go look those up and see if those are available or something similar.
Can you tell me the brand of the mesh hammock and where to purchase one? I feel that it would be less susceptible to sparks than the one wind when cooking.
Interesting I just got to thinking about what you said ...."I am not planning o. Spending the night but I ha e the ability" ...i think it is important to remember that if you don't actively come back ....you WILL spend the night. It is not like a video game ...there is no gear check or any criteria. You will spend the night ...ready or not. I dont know why it just struck me as funny.
Blackie, do you find that storing a compass around iron and steel items (like in a haversack, where it hangs somewhere until you take it out for the day) makes the compass less accurate and less quick to return to bearing after being nailed? I have discovered my favorite compass (an old Silva Type 5 with inductive damping so no liquid means no bubble to worry about), and they are tough to find so I want it to stay accurate for a long time.
Hey Blackie. How do you feel about electric lighters? I hear good things about them, and I really like mine, but none of the experienced woodsman seem to carry them. I carry a handcrank radio anyway, so it can charge my lighter.
They work till they dont....i personally carry 4 forms of fire making and look it add more....the electric lighters with lithium batteries can fail due to age and banging around then u have a really good one use blowtorch lighting your stuff on fire or you if it is in your pocket 🤕
lighter / spare power for my phone / small map of city / list of ph numbers for often visited stores and place to take shelter like friends / pre charged money cards to pay for services / flash light / other thing depending on time or yr and what part of country i am in
Hello Blackie , it's been a few months since I've written to you. Once again I need your help. I have a friend who owns an original Griswald & Gunnison revolver. He wants to sell it but has no idea of its value. Can you help ? I'll contact him through Messenger , I'm trying to keep his name private.
Always a pleasure watching these videos Blackie. Great way to pass a rainy afternoon.

I know you said you weren’t doing anymore runs. But just curious if you have any of haversacks left.
Nice setup but I'd include some sort of container.

I'm little larger since army days in 1968, does anybody make surplus field jackets etc. In old guy sizes?
Good stuff - thankee!

Would love to see your bag function with saw/adapter/and file in strap. How YOU install those items for comfort.

Where can you purchase a blackbird haversack? Nothing online
I have the same question
Where did you get that flashlight that works as a overhead lamp
My haversack is generally empty so that I can gather up stuff while I'm out.
Sounds more like a mugger's bag ... :)))

Has anyone tried to make a cheap poncho out of a emergency blanket
you can but you will need to line the edge of the cut for the neck with duct tape since once cut the blanket will tear like tissue paper

it appears the compass is an out of production model :(
could be i have had it a few yrs
No water bottle or pot.
You never used this crap, everything looks brand new
@viperrc535 tell me you are stupid without telling me that you are stupid~
These guys are always showing us what they carry but they rarely show us using it in the field.
