It doesn't matter ultimately because the police are part of the government. The government cannot punish you for your freedom of speech and expression, even freedom of association. This is why people are pissed, the rules apply on their whims and not evenly to all.

The body cam of the cop saving the couple from the house fire is a perfect example of why in a fire with thick smoke, crawl out, the smoke most likely wont be down low yet and you can see and breath while you get out.

So I am 27 years old and am lucky enough to have an income to purchase a home in a high demand area. While searching for a home, I ran into so many roadblocks because that neighborhood did not permit someone my age, and their HOA wouldn’t permit my purchase, even after showing that I am a working professional, live comfortably and quietly. People would rather have homes and yards empty and become overgrown than have a young person live beside them.
It’s insane that this is legal and not seen as redlining. Yes, you can grow out of that age demographic but does that make it ok to bar tax paying, independent adults for years because of prejudicial assumptions?
What kind of HOA has the power to disapprove the sale of a property? That's insane and I've never heard of that before.

I work as a mechanic for a unionized company and by law under no circumstances are we allowed to accept any gifts from customers no matter the reason….why are politicians exempt from this?

I am pre-diabetic, obese, and have PCOS with insulin resistance and have been on Ozempic for a little over a year now. Beyond the supply issues, I am someone that's been hit off and on with side effects like nausea, vomiting, fatigue, etc. That said, it's also lowered my A1C enough that, while on the med, I am no longer considered pre-diabetic and it's also helped control some of the symptoms of my PCOS even though that's not the intended use. I got lucky with my primary doctor being fairly knowledgeable regarding obesity treatment, but she's also open to hearing research I do or find that may be relevant. Over the year+ of being on it, I've had appointments with her every 3-6 months to touch base, check my blood levels, monitor side effects, etc. Unfortunately I know a LOT of people don't have that experience with their doctors though.
Agreed! It has helped my PCOS symptoms too. I also have hypothyroidism and Hashimotos and it has helped the symptoms of those so much. I have been on Wegovy though for a little over a year and my doctor has been fabulous through all of it.
I really like the “Cop News” segment intro. I really like how Phil consistently does his best to hold cops accountable in some way and showing examples of what standard we should hold them to.
I was pretty happy with that degment. Someone mentioned the duality of man... and policing is definitely a profession where you see that. Some cops commit do awful things, others put their lives on the line for strangers. You sure see both sides of the coin.
Regarding the bliss story, having worked as a chef for about 8 years now the problem customers are extremely rarely young people. Most people my age and younger are kind to servers and don’t mess us around back of house. Now older people, 50+, a completely different story. Don’t get me wrong, 99% of people of any age are kind when they go out to eat. But I’ve had waiters in tears because of some of the shit they have to deal with from older people. I’ve had a 60+ lady scream in my face that the steak was raw (she ordered it medium rare), I’ve had an old man go to punch me in the face, I unfortunately know quite a few young female waiters who have been touched by older men. There are sooooo many horror stories I’ve either experienced or heard off other people and only one that I can think of involves someone who was in their 20’s. Like I said before, the vast majority of people are fine, but acting like young people are the ones ruining the restaurant experience is dishonest in my opinion

@@feha92 Culinary student here. In my experience working both small local restaraunts and fine dining, most people don't know what medium rare means. I've experienced a lot of people order medium rare when what they want is between medium-well done. I've literally gotten tickets that say "medium-rare no pink" before. When I was a server I had multiple people scream at me that their steaks are raw and point to the small sliver of pink in the middle of the steak.

My grandparents fostered 5 kids. My grandfather was a pdf file/Baptist preacher and they used them to work on the farm also forcing them (like myself) to go to church. I hope one day I can be in a position to foster a kid and give them a legitimately good experience since i can never have kids myself.
I'm Canadian. I was on Saxenda for 4 months, and did end up going off it recently. Partly it was due to cost, but it was also partly due to side effects. I had pretty severe fatigue and also worsening gall bladder issues. My doctor is actually an obesity specialist and she is probably the most kind, compassionate doctor I've ever had.

On the story about Bliss:
It is weird because the type of people one attracts is determine by the restaurant's vibe, so to speak. If you are running a restaurant that is basically a night club or has those aesthetics do not be surprised when rowdy younger people show up. If you are running what is essentially a Cracker Barrel, then do not be surprised at the amount of people asking for senior discounts. People sort themselves out for the most part.
I have been on Ozempic for about a year and a half and I have lost around 50lbs. I am very fortunate in that I have had very few negative side effects so far. This medication has absolutely changed my life in such a positive way. I used to be so out of breath just walking down the hall and now I can essentially run circles and not be out of breath.
Attorney here, SCOTUS’s decision regarding the SEC, and their choice to apply the 7th amendment, is potentially worse than you think! The same arguments used by SCOTUS applies to the states and therefore it’s not just federal agencies but all agencies, state included. That means that all state agencies will have a potentially much harder time enforcing fraud fines, etc….
Just out of curiosity here more than anything, but wondering your thoughts. It also seems like their reasoning could create even more issues for things besides fraud. If their argument is that the fine is punishment without due process and thus violates the 7th amendment, wouldn't that make fines for say traffic violations no longer constitutional too for the same reason? And if so... I shudder to think the impact that will have on the DMVs of every state.
Another attorney here, and, while I agree with the analysis, I don't think it is particularly dire. If the agency/relevant statute gives the defendant the option to elect between an administrative law judge and a jury as the trier of fact, then the 7th amendment issue should be solved. While it is likely more expensive, and somewhat more time-consuming, for the state to go through with a jury trial, that is the point of the 7th Amendment. Besides, I suspect a fair amount of defendant's would elect the ALJ (as long as statistics don't end up showing that juries are significantly more favorable to the defendant).

Slight correction at 8:20, as of the end of 2019, you have to be 21 to buy cigarettes in the US. It's one of those laws that kind of came and went and most people didn't talk about it.

You said “Zofran”, and my body had a physical reaction. I was on it for my *entire* pregnancy because my morning sickness was so bad. Being on Zofran was a different flavor of misery than enduring without it. Only anecdotes from other women helped me survive, my doctor was pretty vague when they prescribed to me.
I take Zofran for occasional nausea. It’s a blessing for me. Never had a bad experience with it other than sleepiness
Having worked in a pharmacy for about 3 years as a technician, I can confidently say that the vast majority of doctors have zero clue about the medications they are prescribing. The amount of times our pharmacists would catch a deadly interaction or an allergic reaction with a medication was at least a couple times a week.
People underestimate pharmacists, forgetting that they are as educated as most doctors. I've consulted with pharmacists many many times and it's shocking how often they have the answer or know when a visit to the doctor or ER is the best move. Seems like many people view them as glorified cashiers when the reality is that they are some of the most available health professionals we have regular access to. A good relationship with your pharmacist can be a literal life saver.
As a patient, I have had doctors try to prescribe something I'm allergic to far too often
If you are ever rescuing somebody from a burning building, notice how the smoke rises? Stay low and you can breathe non-smoky air a lot longer and see further.
It also makes you move a whole lot slower and limits the amount of strength you can use.
And that also limits how far you can see, which is important when you are looking for a man who can’t walk and his wheel chair. But good advice regardless and I’m sure could save someone

Everything you said about ozempic today hit the nail on the head. I was put on it in november by a diabetes specialist who told me how to slowly increase my dosage and that she'll see me in 2 years. Didn't get any information about how to actually live on ozempic. The side effects were so bad, and anytime I turned to my GP (not an obesity specialist) about them, I was told that it's all normal and should even out. They never did, I could barely eat a meal every other day, and was throwing up constantly. Given anti-nausea meds for chemo patients, but they barely made a dent. I finally stopped taking it a month ago and I feel better in every single way! The tiny bit of weight I lost was so not worth the absolute hell that was being on this medication
The amount of stories I have heard from my friends who are plus sized. Can basically be summed up as “hey doc my arm is broken” “well you need to lose some weight” “ok can you fix my arm?” “Let’s focus on your weight first”
So many doctors will over look or not test all the time just thinking the issue is weight. Even for those who are not even that big.
Ain't this the truth. I'm a big girl and weight lift everyday and the doctors still say I'm 48% body fat after 70lb weight loss and everything I complained about is because of my weight. 😆
Yep. I herniated a disc lifting a fridge during a move in. Every single doctor I have went to to get my back checked out has said the issue was my weight. Even after I tell them that I have been heavier with no issues for years and years, and only got my back messed up after lifting something heavy the wrong way. Like I get, the symptoms/effects of the herniated disc gets better with a lighter load, but that's not what they're saying. Some of these doctors like to straight up lie/gaslight when it comes to weight.
It's a similar issue with transgender people. Often called "transgender broken arm syndrome" where any issue is automatically considered to be connected to your gender dysphoria/hormones and not taken seriously. Same can be said for plus sized people. A lot of doctors have these biases that impact how they do their jobs and while it's sad, it's also very human

Almost all health issues, muscular and spinal issues can be fixed with weight loss. I was 30 lbs overweight and my body felt like crap. Once I lost that weight, i felt like a totally different person. If you lost 70lbs, you were severely overweight.

Some have diseases that prevent them from weight loss and need other help which is why it is not useful to tell them to just lose weight without first actually looking at what else could be the issue
Smoke filled corridors without resp and mask is no joke either. Worked at sea for 10yrs and one of the scariest aspects of training was the smoke shacks. No gear, no repsperator and no light inside and it simulates the inside of a smoke filled ship and you have to get through it. Scary disorientating and 20-30 odd seconds it takes feels like hours. Props to that guy for not only getting the job done but dusting himself off and carrying on to ensure everyone else was OK 🤗

My dad was a Kevin cop and lost him to a heart attack a few years back…he would’ve been the age of those same people Kevin saved…I’m only in my 20s it’s a diff kinda hurt knowing I don’t have my pops with me this early so seeing someone who reminded me of my dad saving someone who would’ve been in the same age/ condition of my dad was really surreal…and he went back in and did 16 others…Kevin….dude. It does get better I promise!!! I lost my dad when I was 25 and I will be happily celebrating my 45th birthday in August!!! There’s not a day that goes by that I do not think of him. It was rough when I got married and he wasn’t there when I had kids and he wasn’t there but that’s the whole catch. He’s been here with me the whole time like your father will be with you the whole time and is with you the whole time!!! Just don’t ever forget him and he will be next to you!!! One thing that I have done is live life for the both of you!!! Also live a life you know he would be proud of you for!!! by doing that not only do you get to honor him he’ll never not be with you!!!
I started Wegovy about a month and a half ago. The process to go on it was that my endocrinologist brought up at the end of every appointment for about a year (which was only like 4, but still) that she thought I should try going on weight loss medication, and I would tell her no for some reason or another. I gave in at our last appointment, and she had a nurse teach me how to do the injections and tell me what the most likely side-effects were, and that’s about all the guidance I’ve gotten. I didn’t think about it too much at the time, because that’s sort of how it goes with most of my meds: here’s what it’s for, here’s how to take it, here are the side effects. But I really wish there was… more.

Weight bias with doctors I have seen is a real thing! I had ankle pain for years and a doctor said it would go away with weight loss. My knee blew up and was finally diagnosed with gout. Since then I have had zero pain on the appropriate medication.
I was told the pain in my ankles and legs was due to my weight and I just needed to exercise. Turns out I had a genetic physical disorder called equinus :( so many years I was told to just work harder when my muscles actually needed surgery to be able to function properly.
Being overweight and a lifestyle that causes obesity is literally a major cause for Gout. Had the weight not been there, there's a reasonable expectation the gout wouldn't have occurred and or would have subsided to a manageable level - it would also be way simpler to diagnose without the weight there - Source: National Institute of Arthritis and Musculoskeletal and Skin Diseases.
Weight bias is indeed a problem, but it exists because being overweight is very much a root cause for SO MANY problems.

@@BlokedAgainthat doesn’t change the point that doctors will frequently blame weight without being willing to even consider other options. You could have all the symptoms explaining it only to be told “nope, it’s your weight”. Literally ignoring medical test results so they can shoo you out the door. Even if weight can cause gout that doesn’t mean you should ignore any other potential root causes. Especially when there are a lot of conditions that can cause the weight gain to be an actual symptom rather than the cause.
The key is that rather it being one component in the diagnosis it becomes the ONLY component. That’s the issue. You don’t have to ignore the weight and impact it has. They do have to stop using “lose weight” as the sole treatment for all issues someone overweight faces.
@@ellewilliams958 You do realize some doctors want you to lose weight not only for your own good but also to help identify ailments that aren't caused by the excessive weight if they're not visible. It sometimes can be a safer thing to do then immediately throw you own a drug or put you through unnecessary imaging that could cost you a fortune unless they have too. You said they ignored test results but what test results? Gout in it's early stages doesn't typically show up on x-rays and if they ran a test for uric acid levels they're not going to risk a malpractice lawsuit by not treating you if you have high levels.

My first gastrointestinal doctor was horrible about treating my acid reflux, to the point he failed to give me a diagnosis after a very expensive upper endoscopy. I remember waking up from the procedure and the nurse had to call him to tell me what he saw on the scope and all he said was he saw a little redness. Ended up going to another specialist with copies of my records from the procedure and he instantly told me I had GERD, a hiatal hernia, gave me a prescription for Nexium and diet advice.

Weight bias absolutely makes healthcare difficult. I have lost 100lbs+ and have definitely been treated differently. Suddenly things like my inability to sleep and generalized pain had diagnoses and treatment. This includes mental health, too. Whereas I was lazy and stupid before, now I have ADHD.
Having ADHD is not an excuse to be lazy and stupid.

Actually it is. ADHD impacts the regulation of dopamine and other feel good chemicals in the brain so it's harder to be motivated to be productive when you get little to no joy or satisfaction from it. Further, this impacts the ability to maintain concentration for extended periods , especially if the task at hand is difficult, confusing or uninteresting to the afflicted. Lastly, ADHD is often comorbid with learning disabilities, anxiety and depression which can also limit the patient's ability to learn. @@a.jherbert5436

@@VelCroweBar The problem is when they refuse to look at any alternatives to weight as the issue despite patients having understanding of what's normal for them at their weight. ie, when another commenter got a herniated disc from lifting a fridge wrong, doctors completely ignored the fact that the fridge caused an obvious (and treatable!) issue, because "clearly their back pain was only caused by them being fat, just lose some weight and you'll feel better". Refused to accept that lifting a fridge could have been the issue despite being told that it was the issue and it obviously being the issue, so the herniated disc went untreated far longer than necessary.

I am current on Ozempic and my doctor has been amazing. He and his team made sure to explain the importance of drinking more water while I am on it. It has been helping me to lose the weight that I gain from the 2 years I was bed and couch bound thanks to my Achielles Tendon being shredded from broken bone spurs. It took me years to build up my core body again to be able to live my normal life again. As well becoming Diebetic during that time as well putting on more than 100 lbs during that time.
I have lost over 60 lbs so far and working to lose everything I gained and hopefully even more in the end. But I am thankful once again for my Doctor and his team and the drug has been able to help me do something I have had a very hard time doing after a major medication issue.

That's where it comes from. The whole point of a "tip" was to bribe the waiter for better/faster service as a way of demonstrating wealth and power to those you're dining with. The only reason there isn't more pushback against the notion of tips at all, is because of the ingrained expectations of corruption that America fostered not just internally, but in its overseas cultural exports as well.
Tips also became a staple to incomes during the prohibition era when dinners lost that massive profit boost, we never returned to a nontip based system sadly.

As a member of police accountability community, some of these bad cop-stories are so enraging and heartbreaking, I cant recommend them for anyone, even if everyone should know about them. Im somewhat stoic Finn and Ive cried, yelled and swung my ipad away in anger. To me this is human rights issue, thats the only thing keeping me at it. But it’s bad, really bad.

I am diabetic and obese, and I've been on Ozempic since 2020. Honestly, my doctor just put me on it and told me how much to take weekly without mentioning the side effects or that it could help me lose weight. In fact, I only learned about its weight loss benefits when Phill started reporting on it.
I think there just needs to be so much more done to properly deal with obesity in health services aside from just "eat better and exercise and all your problems will go away". There are many reasons for obesity aside from what people think (laziness and gluttony).
Case in point, I'm also obese and went through my life with doctors telling me to just do sports and eat better. I tried and nothing worked, I thought it was all my fault and that I wasn't trying hard enough. It took until I was 25 to correctly be diagnosed with PCOS (a hormone condition that, among other symptoms, leads to uncontrolled weight gain). In combination with PCOS, I also had insulin resistance (pre-diabetes, often goes hand in hand with PCOS with one making the other worse).
While being treated for that, I still felt weak and without energy to do things and still gained weight. It then took until I was 30 years old until doctors finally checked my thyroids and found out I also have hypothyroidism.
So it took until I was 30 for doctors to find out I had 3 medical conditions that severely impact my weight and contribute to my obesity and up until then I got constantly shamed for being a lazy glutton. Now I'm finally receiving medication and slowly regaining some energy, but have to now struggle with carrying all that weight around. Had my doctors taken my issues seriously sooner and actually checked me for those issues before just blaming my lifestyle, a lot of this probably could have been avoided. I'm not one to cry fatshaming or fatphobia, but in the medical industry, it IS a huge problem.
I'm sorry your doctor didn't explain things to you properly, but I do hope that you can benefit from the use of the medication.
@@Windmelodie Thanks for sharing your personal story. The issues surrounding obesity extend to research as well as I'm sure you can imagine. In the video, Phil called obesity a cause of health issues; however, there is no research to suggest a casual relationship between higher body fat and health issues. What we do have would be a correlational relationship, and a rather weak one at that. You've probably heard this one already, but the correlational relationship between a man being bald and him having heart disease is actually far higher than that between an obese person and their development of heart disease. I don't see anyone jumping up to take the fight against America's male pattern baldness epidemic though, so we seem to have a double standard that is favored to view fat as a more valid metric of health. Fat and weight however are perhaps the most invalid, unreliable, and foolish ways to measure health, which in itself is a sticky concept, but maybe I'll discuss that in another comment so as to not go on a tangent.
When we have correlates, there is something we can learn still. Though it would be tremendously dishonest and unethical to claim a weak correlate as a causal interaction, (which is what doctors, the media, and even our boy Phil just did) this relationship can tell us about the world we live in and the potential extraneous variables which may be at play here. It is like we are capturing and observing the thing we want to observe, but the data tells us that we aren't looking at the right variable. This is when the question is asked, "what is the correct variable?"
My guess is stress. I don't know your life, but I do know that you shared 30 years of being told you were lazy, a glutton, and not being fully taken seriously by doctors because of their prejudice (not just a buzzword, literally meaning that they put judgment on you before taking into account the whole story). I can only imagine that this sentiment was echoed in other domains of your life, and I cannot imagine that was easy. That is stress, likely trauma too. Among all groups with statistically significant correlational data showing a relationship between their personal identifiers and a higher risk for heart disease, high blood pressure, and diabetes, there are studies to suggest heightened stress as well. Some of this is common sense I think. Going bald is big change and bald men (women aren't studied nearly as much for this) report blows to their self esteem and in turn more stress. We already discussed the stress of being outcasted by society just for having a larger build, and then you can go down the list if you wish regarding the other populations with an increased correlate and risk with these diseases.
Stress has more going for it too, as studies have shown their own correlational relationships between stress and heart disease, higher cholesterol, and diabetes. (there is actually some causal data there too, but it isn't in humans). Weight and fat have also been shown to be increasingly dependent upon genetic factors, at least in a vacuum. The most recent development I saw demonstrated that 80% of a person's weight and fat allocation/abundance is determined by their genetics. This falls in line with the genetic predictors for the other relationships we observe, such as with baldness and skin color (adding this here because of the correlates between being a woman of color and having heart disease etc.) I would hope that doctors would not interpret this data to suggest that being a person of color or being bald is inherently unhealthy, but the same rule seems to not apply to weight/fat. Many in the body positive community actually refer to fatphobia as just a rebranded racism. While I am not too educated in the facts behind this, I can definitley see where they are coming from based on the aforementioned discrepancies in interpreting data.
Fat/weight shouldn't be a way that we measure health. Fat/weight also shouldn't be THE way we measure health. I can see the argument for it being a symptom of some underlying disease (such as your example with the three conditions); however, I would still exercise caution with not overdoing this approach either. I don't want to ramble too much as I already have, so I want to end with an analogy. Gasoline doesn't cause fires, it's just flammable. If firefighters and the general public thought that gasoline was the cause of all fires, we would probably be living in a much more dangerous and ignorant world.

My entire experience with doctors has been them ignoring or minimizing my symptoms due to my weight or gender. Any problem is always met with "well it's caused by your weight". They never did any testing, brushed off my concerns, and shamed me for my body. I was a minor for many of these experiences and for most obese/overweight people in the US, it is what's expected. My partner had random meds thrown at him that ultimately worsened his blood pressure and caused him to gain significant weight over the span of a few years. We just want to be taken seriously by our health care providers and listened to when something isn't right.
Regarding gifts to public officials, as a Funeral Director in NYC, we deal with the City Ckerk office almost daily. Years ago, it wasn't uncommon to send the office a cookie plate or similar around the holidays. The city has made such a strong push to fight corruption that I couldn't give a cough drop to an employee that attended my wedding because it was in the clerk's office and on camera. That's how seriously gift giving is taken. To have decision makers able to be influenced by gifts is pure insanity and corruption.
I started wegovy a few weeks ago, after it took 6+ months for everything to get approved. Ive been trying to deal with some of the side effects, sometimes with things that negatively impact my weight. The worst for me is the nausea- it'll start slow and get worse throughout the day until I just can't think or drink by the end of it, even though water is so important! Very frustrating, still learning how to cope
Thank you for sharing the good cop story. With so much negativity and so many bad cops out there I love seeing that there are still good ones. Please keep doing that! I don’t want to lessen the seriousness of the bad stories, but I think sharing the good just adds to the level of comparison on how bad some cops are while giving us some hope for the good.
The story about the cop saving the elderly couple’s lives hits close to home. my father is 70 with parkinson’s disease that is slowly just getting worse with time. just imagining him being in the same position as that older man almost brought me to tears. i hope any policeman would do the same for my father has he did for them. i’m not someone who particularly likes or agrees the current policing system but that cop - in my mind - is what the system needs more of: people who protect and serve, not arrest you for flipping them off, etc.
I just started taking ozempic a month ago. I work at a diabetes clinic, and I understand the shortage issues. But I'm morbidly obese (basically my whole life), and I've worked for over a year with 2 dieticians and a fitness instructor. I lost 20 lbs almost immediately, then stopped. It took a LOT for me to ask for prescription help because I already feel like a failure. The crazy thing is, I still haven't lost weight and it's been 5 weeks. But I just met with my PCP today and the dosage is getting adjusted. She asked me so many questions and made sure I wasn't experiencing side effects. And I STILL learned something from this episode...I didn't know I needed to increase my water intake. The whole situation is just....a lot. And scary. I can't imagine trying to navigate this without professional medical advice and monitoring.

I'm on Zepbound after a PCOS diagnosis and it's a mess to be on any of those drugs right now. I've been off and on for months because of backordering and fights with insurance. Nausea, fatigue, and a weird sweet taste in my mouth all the time and no real guidelines from my prescriber. Super glad there are online resources for people even if they're not official.

I was always told to lose weight and my extremely painful cramps and other issues would go away. I lost 100lbs during my pregnancy and the pain was still there. I gained the weight back and tried Ozempic to actually control my diabetes and it sent me to the ER with pancreatitis.
As an obese Canadian who had to deal with the Canadian healthcare system all his life , i can say that only 1 of the several doctors i dealt with saw my obesity as a medical symptom instead of an attribute of the patient. and that doctor had the most success in administrating changes for me. the sentence that helped was : '' you HAVE fat , you ARE NOT fat.''
Canada and the US need more doctors like that!!

My doctor got some free samples of Ozempic so I started on it about 3 1/2 weeks ago. For the first 4 days after my first dose I didn't do anything but sleep and go to the bathroom. The next week for the second dose the fatigue only lasted a day, and this latest dose only made me tired. I'm on the lowest dose. I don't think my doctor really knows a lot about weight loss beyond what we were taught in school growing up about proper portions and a balanced diet, but at least she's trying which is better than a lot of doctors I've had. I've been obese since the 5th grade and most of my doctors have just been like, well eat less, and growing up I didn't eat more than any of my friends, and I participated in sports and weight training without any long term impact to my weight. At a certain point you just give up and then the problem is only exacerbated.
I'm a Wegovy user. I'm also in a wheelchair full-time and can't get up at all for traditional exercise. I was prescribed the drug by the weight-loss management doctor that I'm working with. It definitely isn't a perfect drug, the side effects if I eat something bad for me are terrible. However, following my diet the right way has helped me drop almost 30 pounds already. My husband is diabetic and on Ozempic and hasn't seen too many results with his weight, he is on an even stricter diet than I am and he lifts weights almost every single day. He dropped nearly 70 pounds before starting the medicine and has only lost an additional 10 since.
Regarding the obesity story: I have been taking Wegovy for a little over a year, and have lost a significant amount of weight. Which in my case mostly likely saved my life based on how severe the obesity actually was. My doctor was one of the few that did hold my hand through the whole process. When I first started the medication we met every 3 months and am now only doing every 6 month appointments. We discussed side effect and slowly increased my dosage rather than jumping quickly to the max dose. We talked about how to manage side effects in the beginning. Thankfully, my body adapted and I do not have to worry about side effects much if at all. Unfortunately, I do believe that my doctor is a rareity. Most doctors seem to think that as long as they give you the tool everything will be fine. There is no need for them to answer questions you have during the process of using it. I am lucky to have the doctor that I do, and honestly, if I didn't I probably would still be morbidly obese OR looking up things on tiktok on how to manage my side effects.
