This honestly looks pretty great in most departments (except no headphone jack) but I think that the main issue of this phone is that it's focus is on gaming. Most popular phone games are not hardware intensive, because they want to be able to be played on any phone. So this phone opens you to more niche high prefomance games like racing, fighting, and FPS's but those games suck without tactile controls so if you wanted it for the gaming experience just get a switch?
It's Razer so unfortunatelly it's quite unlikely :/ I tried to get my hands on one of the Razer laptops without any success (I live in the central Europe mind you). The only thing available here, with even crazier prices of course, are the most mainstream peripherals they make. I guess it will be the same case with this smartphone as with their laptops.

(yes i'm replying 6 years later) I highly doubt that, SOCs in phones don't really have much thermal headroom, even at peak it'll likely be far from the performance of any semi modern x86 pc. Especially in gpu performance where arm socs struggle most. Not to mention the fact that thermal throttling is very imminent...

Seriously though, I find it's pretty hypocritical that Marques is always talking about companies pushing the mold in camera technologies while he keeps pushing the idea that the _"headphone jack is dead!"_. It's the one pet peeve I have about his otherwise excellent content. There's a reason why general consumers, audiophiles and sound engineers still use wired headphones and that is because 1) wireless still produces inferior audio 2) bluetooth connections can be volatile to rely on 3) it drains the battery life of not only the phone, but the headphones too! Until companies can resolve these three flaws, people of all walks of life will continue to bitch and moan about this issue 😃.

I highly doubt that, SOCs in phones don't really have much thermal headroom, even at peak it'll likely be far from the performance of any semi modern x86 pc. Especially in gpu performance where arm socs struggle most.
Not to mention the fact that thermal throttling is very imminent...

Heavily dislike how we are letting these kinds of business practices slide. Paying high premiums for new models that are marginally beneficial for casual or business use is ludicrous. Just waiting for the next big budget smartphone, and so far those Razor specs are looking promising.
