So glad you took the time to make this video!! Mum's phone took a plunge in the drink, I pulled it all apart and the touch screen pins were fried but the display still worked. Managed to get everything backed up to the cloud with the usb hub and mouse trick. Thanks heaps mate!
Aww that's class to hear that she was able to get all her stuff back. The power of backups are the way forward . Hope your mum's relieved that they were recovered
Omg I didn't see the superchat, honestly man thank you , you most certainly didn't have to, just hearing she got her stuff back is satisfaction enough for me 😁. But again thank you
Agreed, your average person wont do a proper backup either. Most professionals should use the 3-2-1 rule, but dont because of costs. So i think for most people the default google photos, or google drive or icloud for example is a great product for them as its quick easy and relatively affordable, the likely ness to loose data from one of those services is low.
You'd think they would allow you to just plug in your broken phone to a computer and transfer the files but that would be simple convenient and apparently that isn't what they were going for.
@@cwatson42785 They cant buddy. If there is a password, a pass code, or a pin, its always required. Remember this method is nothing more than changing the way your phone displays its screen to an external source, same with inputs, its another input method using a keyboard and mouse rather than your finger, all connected from the phone not to it. Connecting it to a computer however is very different in the way the connection treats data, you would still need to be able to unlock a phone in order to allow a usb transfer option to become active, as you get different levels of protections for this so that someone cannot, just get your phone and access your stuff :)
You can actually. Although they sure as hell don't make it straight forward. You know when you connect your phone to a computer, the phone asks what you want the computer to access and you have to select "have access to file" or something of the sort. Every single tome. But you can change that in the setting to always allow access when connecting to a computer via USB C. Go into the settings and set up that but it's not exactly easy to find on your own. You can see RUclips videos about it. If you have a broken screen, use the same thing in this video to use the phone via the TV And a mouse to change the setting I mentioned, then you can connect it to your PC
It doesn't work. There are a multitude of videos advertising this method and this exact hub on Amazon. It's a con, just like the apps that advertise you can mirror your phone on a computer with a broken screen. If the phone is locked you can't access it no matter what you do. It's a pity RUclips is so full of dishonesty and outright fraud.
bro even if this didn't work for me because my phone doesn't support type C to HDMI your video is the only one on RUclips with a decent solution All videos are clickbait saying "just connect your phone to the computer and accept the access even though I know you can't see anything on screen" Thanks for the video!
Thanks for the positive comment, sorry it didnt work for your phone man. Which one do you have ?. I did make an updated video around this, but tbh if you dont have video out your probably looking at repair or recovery which will likely cost more than the phones worth
@@mrsteve2441 EXACTLY! As you say "repair or recovery which will likely cost more than the phones worth" My phone screen went from partly showing my background picture to dots of red, green, blue several hours later. The day after it was more huge stains in blue and black and a couple days later it reduced to become completely black. It is most likely some internal damage as well, because the screen itself isn't exactly visible injured. It lights up green when charging, so it is enough battery, and it also vibrates when I use fingerprints. I did not (and I still don't) have enough space on Google Foto to save it automatically and I was a dork for not checking that my SD / SanDisk were activated in the first place, but hey, one cannot know when a phone-crises might appear It always happen abruptly. I have bought a new phone already though and luckily I managed to transfer contacts etc. through the help of Google, but yeah, I still lack the pictures. I could scream of frustration!!!! Edit: I will look up your updated videos
mate it hurts even more when your dead phone DOES support UTC connections, but it needs to be manually turned on (via a non-functional touch screen) for every use. It's almost like they're saying "yeah you COULD fix this issue, but you'e not going to"
This worked like a charm. the only thing I didn't realize is that you need to add the keyboard/mouse USB receiver to the adapter. Once I added the USB received it was straightforward from there.
So you plug the mouse and keyboard into the same adapter? So it's USBC to HDMI OUT to a monitor, then plug keyboard and mouse into the adapter as well?
@@mrsteve2441 you used some form of a doungle and mouse that you hooked up to the computer in order to retrieve the data from the broken phone...i have about 6 ancient android phones that i have data on that i would love to retrieve...so i need to know exactly what divice to get as to do the job...the exact name and models so that i can source the devices.
Great stuff, thanks for making this video!!! This made me realize that I have type C to HDMI somewhere and discovered that, even through my screen was blacked out, the touchscreen still works! Saved me an incredible amount of trouble transferring data.
The thing about not backing up data - in my experience people want to but simply do not know how and feel stupid to ask, so they let it be. You are always here for them anyway, and they do not realize how much work the recovery actually is...
100 percent. Its something that is second nature to some but never really taught to others, always a push or advert for cloud services but in most cases never an explanation for people less tech savvy. I had gone out of my way to make sure this wasnt the case for family, with all being on android devices were all on a shared family plan so i can make sure everything gets backed up. But yes as someone whos taken a device for file recovery before, it is both costly and not guarantied to work.
How would i be able to type things like my PIN to unlock the screen if i dont have a keyboard to plug into the adaptor but the laptop´s keyboard itself instead?
For anyone that this is relevant for: one possibility why this might not work for you is because your phone does not support transferring audio/video. For example, my broken Oneplus Nord is only USB 2.0, ergo it has no USB-C features and cannot transmit into the HDMI output, so I'll either have to give up on the data or pay for screen repairs. Anyways, this video is still very helpful. Thank you, mr. Steve!
But doesn't OnePlus Nord come with USB-C charger? So it won't work with USB-C to HDMI? Im using a OnePlus Nord AC2003 and have a broken screen where the device screen fell off and connector is broken.
@@abusulayman_ Yes, it comes with the charger, but the phone doesn't work come with USB-C features beyond charging. Feel free to test it out, but I am in the same situation as you, and I couldn't get it to work through this method, and I am 90% sure that's the reason
It really worked! I had a pattern screen lock which I was so stressed out that it would not work. I basically used my mouse to draw the pattern lock. thanks for sharing. saved my data!
i bought a dongle, that also, looked like that, 2 usb ports, a hdmi and some micro sd. but my phone doesnt put the screen on my pc screen or my tv, the usb ports work, but it just doesnt show the phone screen.
@@armwrestlinginthe6ix damn. I have sent my phone away to a repair show now, hoping they can fix it, the company does get mostly good reviews but for example, someone sent their phone there, to get a screen protecter on it, but for some reason they fully reset the phone deleting everything on it. So its a little sketchy for me sending it but i hope they can fix it and not fuck it up
@@Sly_Fella got quoted 140 Canadian for the screen repair, but I forgot to ask if they wipe the phone also. Ill try to go into a mall kiosk and see if one of the phone businesses can repair it on the spot infront of my face for me, so I can assure them not to wipe the phone when they do it.
Man, thank you very much for this ideea. I had no ideea that such adaptor exists and that this could work. Connected this to phone, pressed space on the wireless keyboard I also connected to the usbC adapter and voila, there was image on my HDMI TV! I saved this way everything that was inside the phone. THANKS AGAIN!
No problem im just glad you had a compatible phone that you were able to do it with. They are normally for laptops and macs etc, but with usb becoming a universal standard it supports alot of the protocols
Also, you can use a USB keyboard or mouse (i.e. touch broken but not display) to enter the key code. Press space / drag up then type the code with keyboard/mouse or 1-9 and 0 number keys, then press enter.
Massive thank you for this video. I went to two phone shops and beat buy and no one suggested this. I bought the piece (at best buy!) and it worked straight off.
love to hear that. I was well happy when i got it to work, was a good lession for my partner to learn to back stuff up as well. so worked out both wasy
I asked with so many shops, they all can't do backups... I'm baffled because it seems so simple if this works. I'm ordering one now, I hope it works! Although internet says you need to enable HDMI alt mode on your phone first, so not sure. Fingers crossed!
@@DatingDilemmaBreakdown did it work? how do you connect mouse and keyboard to phone? does it just work when you plug it in? nothing ever is as easy as it seems..
When I connect the phone to the monitor, I cannot pass the unlock screen as you did quickly. I have seen a completely dark screen or a screen with a lock sign and a digital watch. I checked the keyboard and mouse to see whether they had any functionality, but there was no issue. I probably guess I needed confirmation before when I connected to the monitor or laptop, and it was possibly visible on the broken screen, but I could not do anything. How can I bypass this situation?
Steve I have the same problem, screen is not totally dead, but I cant remove screen lock. I remembe the code, but cant type it. Can I remove the lock code with the arrangement shown in the video. In principle, the phone screen should be another screen that you can use with computer and mouse.
Did you check if the phone supports output ?, it could be more damaged than you think if it does, could be a few things, the newer release of this video goes into more detail as well as trouble shooting
Hello, this is a great video. Thanks a lot for taking the time. So did you connect the HDMI cable to a monitor? Where did you connect the keyboard to? I see the lock screen when connecting to a monitor but not sure on how to type the pin code, I tried connecting a keyboard and a mouse directly to the monitor but not sure the monitor recognizes them. My bad, I could not understand where the keyboard and mouse are connected to? Thanks,

6 months nothing...jaysus wouldn't wanna go into battle with u as reserves. Same problem ish .. I canne get the fucking mouse to work on the t.v I bought exactly same adaptor but it reads the phone screen but cannot get mouse to be used 🦆
I had the same problem could not see it on the monitor screen when the p30 was plugged in. I figured it out eventually. You have to unlock the phone if you've got a password lock. If you've got a numbered password then it will be easier. Using the adapter will need the mouse and keyboard connected. But on the keyboard as the screen is still black you need to press space twice on your keyboard, type in your numbered password (took me ages to figure this out as you're basically following a process blind as the screen does not work), and press down key twice and then enter (enter to agree the wireless projection - only figured this out when using another p30 phone to see as a guideline). Once you've followed the sequence correctly should then display onto the monitor. Hope that didn't sound too confusing.

Dropped and broke display screen on the cement. Spent 2 days looking for solutions to transfer the data, as I did not have some photos and videos get backed up. Tried many alternatives with fail, until I found your video. This happened last Thursday and just ordered the USB C Hub Adapter, today Saturday. Should be here Tuesday, so feeling hopeful this will be the key to the solution I have been looking for. Many many thanks for creating this video and I am sure it is indeed loads of help to folks like me. Again Thank you.
Id check a few things for trouble shooting. 1. what model of phone do you have, i would go to gsmarena and check that the phone actually supports Video out via the USB c port, most do some dont, that could be your problem. 2. That adapter should work with hdmi 1.4 and hdmi 2. so if you have another cable usually there is writing on the cable if you have a look it will usually tell you the revision. 3. Last thing i would check if the display out, so like a monitor or a tv, make sure its on the correct HDMI etc, correct refresh rate for the phone (found on gsmarena normally)
Unfortunately didn't work for me.. Do you think it might be because the screen is broken but active? (I don't see almost anything but it's like the pressure of the glass is pushing onto the touch system if that makes sense)
if the phone turns on, and it has video out as an option then its worth a punt. worst case u get a cheap usb c dongle, and you didnt waste a tone to try and fix it
@@mrsteve2441 Wait, our phone can be protected with the "pattern" and as long as it supports video output over USB C it should work? IM asking for Galaxy A70 and what about "DisplayPort Alt Mode", Samsung DeX etc?

My phone has a pattern lock. I connected a mouse and tried drawing the pattern by dragging. The issue is that my pattern goes over two dots twice, but when dragging with the mouse it only recognizes when I go over the dots the first time, so I'm unable to complete my pattern. Hello. I dropped my samsung A13 phone in water and although it seemed to work ok after dried, it slowly died, and the screen got murky and lines all down it. But i have an integrated keyboard on my laptop and a wireless mouse. I think you told one commenter that you didnt connect to your pc. Just a keyboard and mouse connected to the dongle? If I dont have a separate keyboard and a USB mouse, does this mean I can't use this recovery method? I am sorry to ask what maybe a really stupid question. Hope you can advise or step by step idiot guide!!! Thankyou.
I did the same thing your wife did, my screen broke and it wasn't until i transfered my info to my new phone that I realized nothing was getting backed up.....all of my photos etc are just trapped on my phone. I have been watching all these youtube videos and honestly yours is the only one I can relate to. I went to staples today in search of a usb-c otg adapter but i apparently didnt get the right one because this one is doing nothing and doesn't have the hdmi output on it. I am going to try and find the right one tomorrow and I am hoping to be able to pull up my screen information. I have a wireless mouse but I don't have a wireless keyboard does that matter?
trying to access a google pixel 4 on my macbook air - i've got a usb c to usb c adaptor and something similar to in thi vid that allows usb to usb c, but nothing comes up on the laptop
It wont, that would treat it as a data connection i imagine, its usb c out you require, which will be to hdmi in the case of the adapter shown, your macbook will not take this as an input to output to a screen, it would required like a usb hdmi device to take the incoming signal
Vysor is cool, but it does require you to have had your phone connected to your pc before in usb debug mode and trusted the signature, if you havent it wont work sadly. So have then have at it, should work and mirror your phone screen, cant mind if vysor lets you control it however, i think its just a mirror.

Can I just use a standard see plug and USB to plug into my computer? What is so special about the set-up that you have you don't really explain that very well
Explained in this updated video, made because of questions like this . Long short, no if you use a normal usb your phone is treated as basically a flash drive in a pc, but you need to click the prompt on the phone to accept that. which you cant if your screens gubbed. This method just lets you have your phone screen on a tv or monitor, you can do it on a pc, but you need a usb capture card, which is mentioned in the upgraded video ruclips.net/video/wiCxJ0dAStg/видео.html&ab_channel=MrSteve
your video was a ton of help, however when i unlock my phone it goes directly to "DEX" instead of the screen mirror. Apparently, you can switch it to screen mirroring on your phone, but my display is broken. Any help is greatly appreciated.
great little video, as this is exactly what happened to my partner. She has a Samsung Z Flip 3 (folding screen), not ever backed up (argh!!) and smashed the screen, 2 months left on her contract. Repair quoted for the flip screen is £300..! I tried with a Lenovo USB-C/HDMI/USB-B adaptor on my TV, PC monitor and laptop, but it doesn't seem to work. I've also used a Selore &S Global adaptor too without any joy. What screen did you "hook it up" to? And how did you hookup your keyboard and mouse. That part is not clear from the video. The narration is a bit too quick too... thanks
This is the old video newer one one the channel 2023 version is much better. Basically buy the usb c hub, and it goes as follows. Phone>hub and the you plug your input and out out devices into the hub so keyboard & mouse > hub and lastly hub hdmi > monitor or TV (or usb hdmi capture card is using on a pc or laptop). I don't know if the flip 3 is compatible for video out, worth a Google and checking on gsm arena Reddit or Samsung's manual for the phone.
I'm following you up to 3:04, but nothing happens for me beyond that point. I'm just stuck with the screen where the time is displayed and nothing else works
Probably not sadly, unless usb debugging was on and it had been connected to a pc before, in which case you could plug it in and browse your files, but this is unlikely sadly. Screen repair might be a good option depending whats on it

Hi buddy, the phone certianly supports it, its defo functioning bar the screen ?, like if you put a sim card in it and tried to ring it then it would vibrate, or flash , ring tone etc. Just to prove its still functioning except from the screen. Other than that i would be trying a different monitor or tv, pressing the power button a few times etc
hey man, if i did this same method would i be able to then transfer the files to my computer instead of backing up google drive. i onl want the pictures off it and planned to put them on a flash drive stick
Eh no. Well not in the same manner anyway, what you could do is use one of the usb ports to put a flash drive in. You can do it to a pc yes, but you would need to have a network share in place on your network, have a file explorer that could access it , then move the files, which would be alot more screwing about. Doable tho
Thanks for the video! Sadly, when I connected to the TV all it shows is a blank screen. It's a Huawei P30 so very similar to the one you used on the video (I know the phone is on/charged, the screen is just more or less black). When I moved the mouse, while connected to the screen as you demonstrated, phone reacts with haptic feedback. Any chance you might have further tips for this situation?
Mine was similar, some keyboards or phones are odd with the button combo when getting to the lock screen, and at the point i was prompted it went blank for a second, but i would be clicking the mouse, dragging up and down, hitting every button on the keyboard, try clicking the lock button a few times. Is the phone defo working ?, like could you put a sim in it and give it a call or something to see it it reacts, like lights, or beeping etc ?

Do you by any chance know, could i plug my phone into one of the usb ports on the side using a usbc cable and still have this method work?
Should check out the newer video on my channel for it, contains alot more detail. Usb C dongles tend to be compatible with loads, the same one i use int he video is the one i use with my laptop. Try it :), see how you get on and let me know :)
Wish this would work for me, but probably wouldn't. I just shattered my Samsung tablet pretty bad. Separated the surface screen from whatever lighting screen looking thing is in the middle, and seperated it from the back. It's currently flashing on and off. **sigh** 😒
Might work. Look up the tablet and check if it has video out from the port. Flashing could just be because of the damage, falsly looking like the device is turning on and off when infact its just the screen, certianly seen that before.
I have an Huawei P30 Pro which screen broke after falling down on the ground. However the phone and the Touchscreen are working. I managed to identify the spots of my lockscreen but although I have a good thunderbolt 4 USB c adapter unfortunately no image..

Hi buddy, mine was resolution based, so when i was attempting it on my tv which was 4k, i was getting nothing, when trying it on my monitors which were 1440p mine worked instantly, seen others who have been the opposite, another reason could be the refresh rate, lots of phones are like 70,80,90,120hz refresh, which may not match the tv, i would check the specs for the s10, check if it supports hdmi out, and what spec it runs through

Thanks for the info. The Donglle with additional USB ports for MOuse and keyboard I didn't think of. But, what if youre passcode is a pattern and not a code? Blind clicking and dragging with a mouse attached? And just to confirm, the video on your monitor didn't show up until you unlocked the phone?
Newer up to date video on the channel for it. I didn't have a pattern on mine, but normally you need a secondary method from android 11 or 12 onwards, so you should have a pin or pass code that could be used alternatively, if the screen goes blank i would position your mouse where your pattern starts, hit a keyboard to to prompt for it, if it goes blank move it blindly in the pattern, not much of an alternative unfortunately. unless you know for a fact that usb debug is on, then there may be a way to mirror it on windows with no prompt
My phone got water under the screen and is now completely blank. The motherboard is still working because I can hear the notifications for messages, etc. Would this method work with a Samsung Galaxy A20e?
unfortunately not your phone does not support video output from the usb port on the device. Fixing the screen might be your only option to get stuff off it unless its backed up on cloud
Nice but you kind-of blew past the connecting. I tried it on both a working (Samsung A71) and non working (Samsung Z3 Flip) phone and could not get ANY video out. not sure why as you SEEMED to make it simple but maybe I did something wrong? Used a Inland dongle as you had. Nothing.

What is the device called that connects to the computer
My phone is cracked and has black streak on it. Trying to download all photos. HELP!!! I got a new phone. Contacts are done.
You'd think they would allow you to just plug in your broken phone to a computer and transfer the files but that would be simple convenient and apparently that isn't what they were going for.
they used to buddy, its now a security thing, so that the phone has to allow it, save someone just plugging in your phone and taking files etc
I don't want someone to be able to find my phone and effortlessly transfer all my data onto their computer.
It's a pity RUclips is so full of dishonesty and outright fraud.
bro even if this didn't work for me because my phone doesn't support type C to HDMI your video is the only one on RUclips with a decent solution All videos are clickbait saying "just connect your phone to the computer and accept the access even though I know you can't see anything on screen"
Thanks for the video!
Thanks for the positive comment, sorry it didnt work for your phone man. Which one do you have ?. I did make an updated video around this, but tbh if you dont have video out your probably looking at repair or recovery which will likely cost more than the phones worth
@@mrsteve2441 EXACTLY! As you say "repair or recovery which will likely cost more than the phones worth"
My phone screen went from partly showing my background picture to dots of red, green, blue several hours later.

Do you know if any USB C adapter hub would work?
For anyone that this is relevant for: one possibility why this might not work for you is because your phone does not support transferring audio/video. For example, my broken Oneplus Nord is only USB 2.0, ergo it has no USB-C features and cannot transmit into the HDMI output, so I'll either have to give up on the data or pay for screen repairs. Anyways, this video is still very helpful. Thank you, mr. Steve!

That adapter should work with hdmi 1.4 and hdmi 2. so if you have another cable usually there is writing on the cable if you have a look it will usually tell you the revision. 3. Last thing i would check if the display out, so like a monitor or a tv, make sure its on the correct HDMI etc, correct refresh rate for the phone (found on gsmarena normally)

great little video, as this is exactly what happened to my partner.

My old phone has like an old charger android, not the type c is their a way or another man?
Probably not sadly, unless usb debugging was on and it had been connected to a pc before, in which case you could plug it in and browse your files, but this is unlikely sadly. Screen repair might be a good option depending whats on it
@@mrsteve2441 alright man thx for the feedback
Hello 👋 there....
You have connected the HDMI cable on TV or on your computer 🖥️ ?
THANK YOU SOO MUCH Buddy, You have just SAVED ME From My STUPID SELF. Last night my Samsung S10 Just decided to To Crack the Screen By Overheating. It was NOT plugged into Mains or Laptop It was 4ft away And the screen just started to get Brighter and Brighter until BOOM Cracked/SHATTERED WHITE ONLY SCREEN. I have ALL my emails/Online Banking/Credit Cards [Times 7] Old /New Photos/ AND some evidence Photos My Lawyer needs. I have NOT slept a wink Thinking it was SUNDAY and Not able to go out and get what your showing, But now i can THANK YOU Buddy UK.
i suggest google one for future backups ;), im now paying a family back and talked all the fam into doing it after seeing how many pics etc my partner nearly lost due to hers being damaged. Some stuff just isnt replaceable. Im glad the video helped you. Good luck with the lawyer thing :)
The screen is broken. Can't hit pair
does not work for me, my phone screen broke and is all black but the phone is alive (Rog Phone 2) cannot acess it, it has passwork and does not work getting it into the TV
@@mrsteve2441 i tried that unfortanly i gave up and gona change by myself the screen for repair let's see how it works...
How do I transfer everything from my old smashed phone to my new one please? Thank you.
follow the video ?. Should allow you to bluetooth or something to the new phone
hey man, if i did this same method would i be able to then transfer the files to my computer instead of backing up google drive. i onl want the pictures off it and planned to put them on a flash drive stick
Eh no. Well not in the same manner anyway, what you could do is use one of the usb ports to put a flash drive in. You can do it to a pc yes, but you would need to have a network share in place on your network, have a file explorer that could access it , then move the files, which would be alot more screwing about. Doable tho
What if you have a white screen would this work?
No clue :). only one way to find out :)
@@mrsteve2441 Yes, it is defo working, I was watching a RUclips video when I broke it and the audio kept on playing! :D Yes, I tested it and it does ring when called.
@@la_kaki Hmm odd the phone does support it, can you try the adapter on another device to rule out faulty device
My screen just shows the time and a lock under it, and then it just bounces around my screen never showing a change in screen but my phone (broken) reacts. I just can't see what the mouse is doing or where it's at. Was hoping I could find an answer but it seems like finger print and patterns are hard to work with
for me too@@HEALMIC2024
I have a Huawei p40pro that works, the screen works, but the touch doesn't, I bought that adapter, let's connect it to the PC, nothing, let's connect it to the tvnista... I don't know where the problem is, do I have to download some program to the PC?
So that phone is compatible with video out. To a tv is hit and miss because of refresh rates and resolutions, best bet is a pc monitor. Remember if your connecting to a pc you will need the usb to hdmi adapter as mentioned in the video and the use of software like obs, there is a newer video on the channel which explains it better, i would check that out
so u just need and USB HDMI adapter???
Kind of, more like a usb dock / hub, check teh updated video ruclips.net/video/wiCxJ0dAStg/видео.html
How is this the only usefull video on the topic on the entire platform? Congrats man! I do have one question thoe, my friend allready has a module (i dont know the official terminology) similar to the one you used on the video, but its jack isnt for android, instead its for a macbook.
I managed to identify the spots of my lockscreen but although I have a good thunderbolt 4 USB c adapter unfortunately no image..
odd. I would maybe try and clean out the connector, try connecting it to another tv or monitor, i couldnt get mine to work on a 4k tv but it did on my 1080 monitor
How did you add the bluetooth mouse and keyboard after plugging it in the monitor?

They all attatch to the hub. Linked is my updated video on the subject
@@mrsteve2441 thank you!

How did you connect the mouse and keyboard to use for the phone?
they plug into the same hub
Does this work for oppo devices specifically the Reno 2?
Hi there, checking online this phone doesnt seem to specify it from the oppo site that i can see, checking over at xda you seem to have some people saying it will and some saying it wont. Personally if there is something on it, spend the $10 on the dongle and try it, worst case return it if it dont work
Bro I'm stuck because I have a pattern to unlock my phone, and my screen doesn't show anything, and touchscreen does not work properly
should be able to do it with the mouse for moving it for the touch screen rather than the screen itself. If you cant then nor sure you can do much more my friend
@@mrsteve2441 I found a solution, since I have a Samsung I used the find my device app then unlocked it from the website 👍
I'm wondering if this method would work if the broken screen is acting up!!
¿Can you control the cell phone from the PC? I thought this method only showed the image of the cell phone but did not take control
Correct. You need a keyboard and mouse as described in the video
Right when you connect all of these things together (USB Hub, Monitor, Keyboard, Mouse, HDMI etc.), Does your phone screen just automatically show up on the monitor? Upon plugging everything with another
Just shows up buddy as if plugging anything into a TV, have to press you power button obiously, If the phone is locked and on standby then nothing will show until you hit the wake button
@@mrsteve2441 OK, so my phone has water damage. The screen works, but the touch does not. Therefore, I cannot unlock it. Does this mean this will not work since I can't use the screen to put in my PIN or fingerprint?
I can plug my phone to my PC but I cannot see the phone home page. It can see it as a storage place but that is empty because I need to allow it on the phone, but my phone is broken. What should I do?
Please watch the video, as stated you cant just hook it to a pc. You need a hub, if you want to use it on a PC you need the usb c hub, and a usb hdmi capture device
Thanks I'm in the same boat. My phone fell in the river last week and I need stuff that is on it that is not backed up. I'm in the U.S. so I'm looking to get a similar device since your link goes to a sold out item. Can you please tell me if there is anything special about the hub that I need to consider before buying other than having hdmi port as well as usb?
Not really, just make sure it's usb c hub with hdmi out you should be good
Very nice, just gave mi an idea, one question. Does it work for iphones or just c type
Not sure. there is an updated video where i state android only, i dont have any experiance with iphones
What if the mobile password was a pattern? Would it still be possible?
I have a damaged old mobile that has my daughters baby photos I would love to get back.
The battery is long dead but that can be replaced from another obsolete mobile. Would love to get the pictures back
same issue, except my Samsung flip is a 4-digit code and can't open because the screen is almost 100% blacked out... following
Try clicking the numbers over and over on the keyboard
can I use a straight up usb c to hdmi male? instead of the female one like in the video?
you could but without the extra usb ports etc you wont be able to control the phone
But it doesn't work if the Phone Was off it displays not the pin screen
could u elaborate on that ?, if you plug it in the monitor becomes the screen ?
@Mr Steve no it doesn't. I can turn it on an off, it vibrats but no display out
@@joopowLP what phone model is it
@Mr Steve it's an s21 ultra. Was just scrolling on the phone an puuf blackscreen
I have a question, the cord you plugged into your phone is not the standard "Shape" of any cell phone I have ever used, the one I see in your video is "Rounded" like the power cord port for a laptop, how would this work?
The port is just a standard USB c, if you have an older phone this may be micro usb etc, if you check the latest video i have on the channel its a more up to date version which covers your question :)
When I plug adapter, mouse, keyboard and phone in nothing comes up on TV, just the no signal sign. Have tried different HDMI ports and cables to see if that was the problem but it's all the same! any advice welcome please! Also have pictures of my baby that I am desperate to get back
What kind of phone do you have ?. Its possible it does not support video out from the usb c port. Or it could be the resolution of the tv thats perhaps the issue
It's a Samsung galaxy A50. I've googled it and it's said it does support it. Strange! The phone phone vibrates when plugged into charger so there is life in it. Screen is not cracked but display is black. Data retrieval is quoted at over €100 here😳
Tried my daughters (new) TV also, no joy unfortunately
Also we've tried my new galaxy A13, my daughters A12 and husbands S10e and none of the phones are displaying on the TV through the exact hdmi usb port you have. Maybe we are jinxed!
@@cv3174 thank you! Will try that🤞🤞
It says it can't be shipped to u.s., is there an alternative?

Hey man, i have just a question. My phone just got destroyed yesterday ( It was a Oppo find x3 lite ) and i got a new one today ( nothing phone 1 ). Can i use the phone clone application with hour screen mirroring method? Thx
Not sure, i imagine if you can get video out using this method then yes, because you an use anything on the phone once its unlocked etc, and use it as a normal phone
I bought the adapter but it isn't working. Nothing happens when I plug everything in. Only the mouse works.
have you checked your phone specs to see if it supports video out on usb c
Hey loved the video, dropped my S10 and 90% of screen white and nothing was backed up. Bought the USB c hub you used but tv or laptop is picking up my phone, I can blindly unlock it and all notifications works etc, but in your opinion why wouldn't it connect you TV. Correct output is chosen, several HDMI has been used etc. Thanks
Hi buddy, mine was resolution based, so when i was attempting it on my tv which was 4k, i was getting nothing, when trying it on my monitors which were 1440p mine worked instantly, seen others who have been the opposite, another reason could be the refresh rate, lots of phones are like 70,80,90,120hz refresh, which may not match the tv, i would check the specs for the s10, check if it supports hdmi out, and what spec it runs through
@@mrsteve2441 thanks for getting back lad, I feel I'll have to admit defeat. Tried changing the resolution on TV but nothing. S10 has HDMI out and all the needed specs, I've seen videos where S10 has been used but of course it's me that has the problems. I've even tried it on my a14 and that doesn't connect either so I'm either doing something completely arsewards or cables are problem. Anyway, thanks again
@@chriscurran469 No problem buddy, sorry it wasnt a win result you were hoping for. Might be worthwhile if you can see if you can return the adapter and purchase a different one, might give you more luck
Thank you brother. Turns out my phone does not allow for video out. (Oneplus 5t). I ended up just ordering a new screen. :)@@mrsteve2441
Nothing.
