Well the thing is, when you connect the phone to the computer, you have to "accept" the connection by pressing the accept button on your phone, which does not work because the screen is smashed.

Poppy Blop put your phone into recovery mode. Hold the home button, volume button and off/on button at the same time until something pops up

This video should have millions of views. You saved me so much time and money with this video. We were able to transfer our sons cellphone data without problems using this method. The t-mobile in store rep said that we won't be able to retrieve our sons phone data due to the locked damage screen.

If your Android device is Samsung and your screen is broken (as in you can't see anything) but your phone is still working, if you can access your files "Samsung Find my Phone" (just google search it) If your phone has a pin select the option "Unlock my phone" and then connect your phone to your computer and just copy your files over (or use Kies if you prefer).. You can also use this service to remotely access your phone and delete information or put a password or track it etc..

How can I restore my sound I have no idea what happened . I have no sound at all except for making and receiving phone calls I don't know how to fix things I can't believe your sound can just stop just like that. how can you retrieve files from a droid with a broken lcd (by broken i mean literally broken, the lcd screen was smashed to pieces), the phone is charging when connected to the pc however, in order to transfer files, it must be in MTP mode. how can I do that?

You could try to connect a monitor and mouse. If you're lucky those will be recognized.

My old phones screen is completely black, I can’t do anything about it since it’s broken and I’m pretty sure you have to press “accept” when u r going to transfer photos. I have really important pictures in that phone, my grandpa just passed away and I don’t have any photos of him at all on my new phone.

Good Video. I was looking for a full data recovery when the device will NOT turn on and the PC will not recognize it when it is plugged in. How to truly recover data from a fully broken device. Is there a way to open the phone and manually connect to the phones drive and read the data?

When the PC isn't recognizing the phone , hate to break it to you, the only way to do it is to replace the screen. Because a PC doesn't recognize it , it means usb debugging is turned off. With that off it's impossible other than replacing the screen to where you can see it. I also have the same issue. You cannot retrieve anything until you get USB debugging on. It's that simple ( but in this case very difficult)
@@ulvihmdli688 nope not really. I've heard you can plug a USB mouse to it through an adapter and take screenshots, but if it's not mounting you'd have to find the folder those ss are on your pc. If your phone isn't turning on at all you're toast. The easiest solution is repair the screen. Once it's repaired u can then enable USB debugging and that will make everything easy.
I think he said create a backup like 200 times before actually explaining anything!
My phones screen [Samsung Galaxy S4] is broken (fully blacked out). However, it still powers on, vibrates, makes noise, and vibrates when I touch lock screen pin also when I recieve a message (which implicates that my data is there). Yet when I connect in USB from my phone to computer (phone makes noise it's charging) it shows up as "connected" but then shows no information or files regarding the phone. I click on the device's files and it shows me absolutely nothing yet my phone obviously still carries the internal data.

@@shotoniphone13 Well, I didn't fix it. You're gonna have to get a phone screen replacement for the particular phone you have because at least for phones of that time i.e. the Galaxy S4 it has a setting where when you plug into USB it automatically goes to "Charge Only" and you have to change it to "MTTP File Transfer" or something like that. They don't allow you to put that setting before hand. Or you can pay for someone to go through all your data and get what you ask for... which is... depending on what you have on there, is up to you. And that method is actually more expensive. I still have the phone and many phones actually that I just hold onto just in case. If it's an older phone screens shouldn't be hard to find or be expensive. You can always get a replacement phone off the internet and then transfer the screen or see if the phone manufacturer has replacement screens.
Sorry, hope that helps. It was a bummer to me too at first. But nothing is really lost. Unless you lose the phone... lol

What do I do if there is a screen lock on the phone, and my screen does not have any functionality?
I know this is a year old video, but for stock Samsung phones, Kies only works on the Note 4 and devices previous to this (tried personally on my GS6). Apparently the new software for the computer is Samsung Smart Switch.

Hello, could you please help me? I misplaced my phone a while back and it's been dead for months. One day I found it, and I tried charging it and then restarting it. When it turned on though it notified me that there was a boot error of some sort. This continued over and over. I changed the battery, tried different charges, etc. I would really like the phone to work again but what I need most of all is to recover the data. My phone will not turn on whatsoever. Do you have any suggestions on what I should do?
It sounds like this method will only work if you create a backup of your phone before it gets broken!

But I have encountered a problem. Here is an idea!!!! If u already have a replacement phone and a flat screen TV plug your phone into the TV via USB. U should see your phone pop up on the TV. Then just tap or swipe your phone where u "think" the password is while using the TV for guidance. With a few trys u should be able to unlock it. Once u do that use the transfer app via bluetooth to your new phone. 😁 "EASY PEESY " LOL

I have kinda same situation like you had. My phone is working properly but there is no screen i mean my screen is whole black but phone is working properly -touch screen too. When i plug my phone via usb to the pc and of course with Kies programme, it says your device is locked. I searched it and many users said you have to enable the USB debugging mode, but how can i turn-on it manually because my screen is black, i can't see anything. This is a friendly guide for you to see what's inside in your phone when your phone's screen is totally blacked out or no display but can still feel the vibration when turning on and there's the led light. Go get/buy HDMI HDTV adapter and connect your phone to your supperted TV. And ta-da your phone is now okay but if your phone's display is not touchable then go buy an otg cable with 2 slot on it.

Nice video. I have a Note 2 (SGH-I317) and one day just before Christmas it froze. I took out the battery to reset it, and the little Android dude came up that says "Downloading...Do not turn off target !!" That is the only thing that comes up when I turn on the phone. If I hold down Volume down+home+power, I get the Warning screen where I can hit vol up to continue and vol down to cancel. If I press vol up, it takes me to the screen with the text in the upper left corner (ODIN MODE) and has the Android dude in the middle again with the "Downloading...Do not turn off target !!" That is ALL I can do with the phone. I have about 100 pics on the phone that I'd like to get off. When I hook it to the computer, I cant access it as a drive since the phone doesn't boot. Any other tricks I can try? THANKS!

try using an MHL adapter with your phone and get the with HDMI and USB and connect a monitor and mouse. that should get you to unlock your phone and get access

Here's a thought for a video. Let's say you break your display, but didn't have a backup before it happened. Is there a way you can plug your phone into the computer and actually interact with your broken phone (mirror the screen and actually interact with the device on the computer) so you can make a backup and then be able complete the steps from this video?
mschiska1 yes You can use a USB mouse device with you broken phone and install Airdroid to mirror you Screen. that will get you running

This dose not help if the screen has a lock. In that case the software can't find the divice, and if the screens touch pad is broken you can't unlock it. Maby you have a soliution for such problem? Because i broke my phones toch pad and can't retrieve my data.

Hi. I downloaded and installed Kies 3 from the samsung support strore.
My galaxy Note 3 has a broken screen completely. It is blank and I cannot access the phone at all.
It turns on and boots up ok.
I open kies and plug my device to my PC. I then get an unsupported connection mode alert from the Kies app.
What Do I do now ??
It says that the current connection mode is not supported and to change mode to media device (MTP) before connecting.
How Do i do this ?

let me just start off by saying wow i could barely make it through this video. so i just downloaded a program called SMART SWITCH. i have a galaxy s4 it uploaded data to my pc with usb cable then put memory card in new phone plugged it into usb and downloaded data onto new phone very easy not time consuming at all any questions feel free to ask

Well, he may be telling the truth. I've dropped my phone countless, but this pass Monday, it slipped off a counter, and hit the floor, and no accessing anything to the right of the screen. *sigh
