It was awesome seeing Roger Carter put your medal on, but then seeing YOU put HIS medal on him was something else. I can't really explain it, it just felt so wholesome and so incredibly deserved. Awesome video!
Hey Kyle. I know it’s late, but I loved your show. I was near the front row, and I cried when you won first, and got the new record. Having you vlog the whole story is just a new layer to how hard it is to march and drum against others that are equal or better than you. I got to meet Roger Carter back in my senior year of high school. He was our on-field percussion judge, and he rated a high school drum line of 4 bass drums, 3 snares, 2 tenors, and 9-10 front ensemble members(the pit, but I love my front. I was in the pit before drumline my senior year) a high box 4 out of 5, with 5 being DCI caliber drumming. You are amazing, and I love your content. Never stop chasing your dreams, and I will beat your VIKINGS this season (falcons fan)
As a dad of a freshman drummer, thanks for these vlogs. I first found you on the "I got cut" vlog and it's been fun seeing your journey. I appreciate you taking a moment to take a pic with me and my daughter and meeting your mom was cool. She's a very nice lady. So what's next? Your skill and insight is too valuable to not give back. I highly encourage you to teach. Especially in younger groups.
Hey Kyle! I'm not sure if you'll ever see this, but I'm just getting to see this vlog right now for some reason, a week after my high school got back from WBA champs in Fresno. Our percussion took 2nd place to Chino Hills on Finals night, which we were all completely stoked out about. Our program has been through a lot over the past few years, and to have it all come together like that was a feeling that I'll never be able to describe. Jared was our snare tech and Daniel was our quad tech, and having those two helping us almost every day of the season made me realize how lucky I am to have these sorts of amazing people to look up to. And watching your videos since my freshman year has definitely inspired me to keep up the drumming despite all the other things going on in my life. Your vibe and your hilariousness always lifts me up when I'm down. On behalf of Upland HS percussion, you're an awesome dude and happy ageout!
Being aged-out, and watching this just brings back all the Dayton memories when I marched. The excitement, the thrill, the moments you shared with everyone in the group you were apart of. Thanks for capturing and sharing these precious moments.. It really helps with remembering my time in the activity with my closest friends.
Overnight Productions that was the goal :) years from now, I can look back on this video and relive these awesome memories. I’m happy to hear it had that kind of effect on you!
Having this year as an introduction to indoor percussion and PSW as a freshman in high school and seeing you guys in the semis lot really brought a new perspective into drumline for me, and I’m so thankful for these videos. If it wasn’t for you, I probably wouldn’t have done indoor. Thanks so much Kyle, and I’m excited to see what’s next for you and your channel. PS I played vibes this year for Lambert HS; we got 18th in PSW
It’s moments like these you hold on to. It’s moments like these that make you human and it’s moments like these that inspire others. Thank you Kyle, and all of BCP. You guys inspire me and so many others to do what we do every single day - not only do you all make me want to be the player I want to be, but more importantly, you all make me want to be the person I want to be. Congrats on a phenomenal season, this show is gonna be talked about for years to come. From the bottom of my heart, I thank you all dearly. Thank you so much. Keep shredding, and don’t let the old man hands stop you 😉
That’s cheep, Kyle. Also, seeing you and Broken City live was freaking intense, and I thank you for making yourself easy to connect to by having a RUclips channel. -Burleson Centennial’s (late) freshman xylophonist
Amazing vlog that captures what it is to be a multi-championship performer. If I could “do it all again” I would try to make sure DCI and WGI were part of my story next time around. Until then, living vicariously and practicing alone is good enough for me. 🤙🏼 Well done, man. There no doubt this will stick with you for life and is a great legacy to pass on to your kids when they’re ready to handle the sticks.
Best video yet Kyle. I’m only sad I found you at the tail end of your DCI/WGI career! You’ve had some pretty dang amazing experiences so far in your life. You are blessed!
Omg this made emotional at the end when you were talking about that it didn’t matter about winning and that you just loved the activity sooooooo much.😢
Man.... Kyle you are honestly one of my greatest heroes and what drives me to continue this sport outside of high school. Only thing is sadly... is that I'm a quad 😂
thank you, for sharing this and making us smile throughout your whole journey. i couldnt come out for any event because my family is already struggling with money and cant really finance my wanting to come see you for your last performance, so it was really great being able to see all of this. thank you and i love you to death bro
@@alexwilson2268 how about, YOU, get out of here!!! It's people like you who ruin a good moment!!!! This person may view Kyle as a hero and he was saying his thanks, and YOU come out of nowhere just ruining it!!!!!
My group was out in prelims and from the moment I saw you guys in the semifinals lot I spent the entire rest of my weekend following what was going on with Broken City as much as I physically could. Your finals lot was so much fun to be a part of and it’s why I love this activity
I remember sitting in the lounge around Joe the announcer, and watching his face light up when he read "new independent percussion world record" and looking down and seeing you guys losing your minds. It was genuinely the most wholesome thing I've seen in the activity. You deserve it Kyle, congratulations.
I don’t even know how to explain why I’m sad. Kyle I’ve really enjoyed watching all your videos and watching you perform. I look forward to seeing fat Kyle
Kyle dude, thanks for sharing these memories and feelings with us man. I know it is very personal to you but thank you for sharing it to the whole world about how it feels like to be part of this and be part of the ride!
This brought back so many memories. WGI finals was an awesome experience. My last show was back in 2006 with Odyssey Percussion Theater and I’ll never forget it. Thank you for sharing your experience. I love your videos!
Kyle! You were an awesome and really kind member of the group. Glad I was able to march with you (and make it in the vlog lol). Thanks for documenting the season, really cool what you were doing with the organization. Miss you dude :)
Wow...I’m lowkey gonna start crying rn😭Thank u so much for being the greatest role model and for inspiring me to be the best drummer and person I can possibly be🙏🏼We’re gonna miss seeing u out there❣️
Kyle I just wanted to say first of all congratulations! The amount of work you all put in proved to be worth it. I also wanted to say that you did an amazing job creating these vlogs. The entire time I felt like I spent the whole season with you. Congratulations Kyle!
If you are reading this I went to wgi finals too and my percussion was ninety six high school indoor percussion but I just wanna day that you guys are actually the best
Just watching this just motivates me more as a drummer to get out there and to follow my dreams of hopefully becoming a member of Broken City it’s kinda cool cuz Roger is my tech too 🙃
Watching these videos makes me think about my last performance, whether it's with my high school when I'm doing dci or wgi. How will I feel what will I do? I'm not ready for that, I will never be ready. I don't want to be.
