Hey Dad u must have some awesomely musical balls 🤣🤣🤣 hope I made u laugh. U raised a good kid I hope you and your family get all that you desire. Just a Philly fan. Cheers!
my school warmed up right in front of edin prairie for prelims at truist and I wanted to meet you and zach so bad. I ended up running into you at the broken city semis lot and I am so thankful for you taking the time to have a small conversation with me and my friend. Thank you so much!!!!
We were in the lot just down the road from Eden Prairie during prelims at Truist Arena! I'm from Sherwood HS, and during our lot I remember the entire drumline being so excited that Eden Prairie, Kyle Tsuchiya, and Zach Fitzgibbon were literally *right there*. It was such a cool experience and a few of us came up and said hi during the finals lot, congratulations to everyone that came out to this awesome event; it was such an amazing experience and every group was so unbelievably clean!
I was there in open class I enjoyed performing and watching groups from all over the country. I’m a freshman so this was my first year, in general a fun experience
Ayooooooooo Wes made it in this video. (He’s on the George mason snare line and went to my hs. Don’t know him too well but it’s nice to see him doing great things in the marching percussion world)
I was in Tall Flags for 1 year in high school, but I still remember how fun it was to go to competitions. Thanks for the nostalgia! :) One question: Can you please explain what the lot is? I don’t recall lot performances as being a thing.
“The Lot” as defined by most marching performers is the warmup time before the actual show. This includes (for most groups) visual block, sub sectionals, full battery/full front ensemble, and finally, full ensemble. Lots can last anywhere from 45 minutes, all the way up to two hours. It just depends on the amount of groups performing, the physical space in the lot, and weather conditions. For marching ensembles, especially marching percussionists, the lot feels like the real fun of show day. You get to interact with your fans, hone in on concepts you may have been struggling with over the weekend, and there’s always this lot ‘pixie dust’. Especially at finals. There’s this ‘finals lot pixie dust’ where groups that may have had this one dirty passage all season will clean it up perfectly at finals simply due to the hype induced focus of being on the finals stage. The lot is a beautiful thing and it’s one of my personal favorite parts of being a marching performer!
@@ricky.beats. Ah this makes sense, thank you. I also marched with the ID Unit for parades in high school and I think I remember a similar circumstance happening at those competitions.
Thank you Kyle! It’s always great to see you and Zach doing what you love. Cheers always, Zach’s dad!
