In this tutorial, I'm showing the basic steps to setup Fan Control. We will create fan curves for my computer case fans, using both GPU and CPU temperature as sources.

So is your software able to control fans connected to Silverstone fan controller? Example, is that fans that are connected to Silverstone controller can be controlled separately or all at once?

This looks to be just what I was looking for since going to a new MSI board. It's clean, easy to use, low profile and from what I'm seeing from just starting it up and having a play, does the job. No more need to spin up Dragon Centre to set the fans!
Thank you for your time putting this together, awesome work! 🙏👍

And you managed to write functional software, while the stuff that comes with Gigabyte and ASRock mobos is buggy and broken.
AND you made such a calm and clear tutorial. Really doing God's work.

Built my first PC last year and I was using BIOS for my CPU and case fans plus Afterburner for my GPU fans. I don't overclock at the moment so I didn't really need Afterburner and I got tired of restarting the PC just to change my other fans so this helps out a ton. Everywhere I looked was singing the praises of Speedfan but the only things it picked up in my system were my two M.2 drives...
Got this downloaded and set up in minutes and now my PC is quieter than it's ever been while still maintaining my temps and I can change things in a moment. Picks up my CPU fan header, pump header, all 6 case fan headers, and my GPU's 2 fan controls. Nice to know I'll have control if I ever add PWM exhaust fans or decide to not daisy chain my intakes. Thanks!

  • @Keeper1st

Works well with DC fans. I like the mixed-source function; whenever either GPU or CPU gets hotter, the case fans will speed up, rather than having to set each fan for one or the other.

Bro I wanna hug you now. My GPU fans died a few weeks ago and I glued 2 case fans to it until the replacements arrive in like 3 months, and had to manually change their speeds all the time through the MSI dragon centre every time I'm doing something or idling. This is the only thing I've found so far that's capable of controlling them by monitoring the GPU temps which sounds simple but your program is the only one I've found doing it. Cheers!

i used to use speed fan till yesterday, good thing i found this software, its easier for me. i dont really control my fans wia software, cause i got 8 channel fan controller that i do prefer, however my three pumps need to be PWM controlled, so i have to have some kind of software for them. I wish there was possibility to add more temperature sensors to temperature source when we are making a trigger curve, since i have two gpu's in the system.
Edit: while i like this software, there are still things the speed fan does better, multiple triggers, it can read vrm temps of a gpu/cpu and act upon it if set up so.

Nice tool! Finally found the time to test it. :) I love the interface and the already integrated options while keeping a clean and simple UI. What I really would like to have is a possibility to just control the fans manually without having to set up a fan curve. The option could disappear once you activate the "fan curve" option.
//edit: oh, seems like it's not able to control all of my fans on the X570 Aorus Ultra. There are two different fan control chips on the board, so it seems like the second one is not supported. It's the IT8795E. I'd really like to do a video about your tool in the near future - but I can't because of missing support for my board. But really good work so far! Hope you incorporate more supported boards in the future.

    •  4 года назад

      @@rmsoftware3759 yes !
but i am using a fan hub with 4 headers for 1. and 2 other headers on the motherboard have a Y cable for 2 extra headers.

    •  4 года назад

@@rmsoftware3759 interesting, the headers which have the Y cable for 2 fans are paired (in my case, 2 top fans and 2 at the bottom).
So each fan control acts upon each pair, which is perfect for me !

First, it only detects the sensors of only three of my four exhaust fans, although all four are on mobo headers, and only two of my GPU fan sensors. Second, the .exe file ran once or twice and no longer does. Likely being blocked by my OS, so I'll have to figure out how to unblock. If anyone reading this knows how to fix please advise, thanks.

Noticed that these videos are from a older version of the program so some new features aren't mentioned in any of the 4 parts.
I thought it was odd that all my fans would stay at 1000rpm at all times after basic setup. Went up to 1500rpm idle after setting CPU fan. I hadn't seen anything about the mixed curve for case Function (which was set MAX as basis) that isn't shown in any of the videos. Changed the MAX value to Average and front fans went to 0rpm just like in the video so I guess check that if you have similar problem.

I don't get why some of my fans ( bottom intake, plugged into 1 to 2 splitter) won't show rpm, at initial setup it was saying "A paired rpm sensor is required". What does that even mean? There are two fans plugged into one header for cpu as well and it just works. I need two bottom intakes to be dependant on gpu temps to feed gpu some air but I don't see the way to get it done.

as a novice to this software using a laptop, nothing matches what I see when I open it. Everyone starts with a screen already labeled but what are they doing to find it? I have only 2 fans in my laptop but what do I choose? Not easy to follow :(

Sadly, laptops are not supported by FanControl.

This might be an issue for my system in general, but I cant seem to control 2 of my case fans. Reason I say this is because software like HWMonitor give the same RPM reading as Fan Control. Anyways, I made sure to plug each fan into the SYS_FAN headers on my Aorus B550 Pro AC mobo, set each of these headers to PWM fan control in BIOS, and I still don't have any control over these 2 fans, except in BIOS. They don't respond to any manual changes or fan curves that I've set in Fan Control. These fans are plugged into SYS_FAN4 and SYS_FAN1.
Also, I have an AIO and the rad fan plugs into a header that connects to the pump through a splitter, which then plugs into the CPU_FAN header in my mobo. In Fan Control and even my BIOS, the RPM reported for my CPU fan is 4500. So it seems the pump speed and fan speed are just being added together? Idk, but Corsair iCue correctly reports the fan and pump speeds separately. I guess I could just plug them into separate headers and see if there's a difference but this was the way the instruction manual recommended I install the AIO.
Either way, the potential of this software is huge and I would like to take full advantage! Please let me know if you have any suggestions and thank you for this amazing software.

      Try DC on these headers.

    Dear Sir
I want to thank U for writing this very useful program. I would like to make a suggestion: is there anyway for U to elaborate on how to open this and close that etc etc? there R lots of older folks(like yours truly) that R not as computer savvy as the younger generation. I was hoping for step by step instructions (I understand that it could B tedious for people who don't need step by step). Plz don't get me wrong, what U have done is quality work, all I am asking is to keep the weakest link in mind. Thanks
    David Shahin
PS: FYI, I got stuck @ creating flat fan curve.
