From working at a fish factory and supermarkets to breaking Michael Jackson records. Anything is possible! One of my favorite DJs!
Yup! Dedication and never giving up on your dream!
im young producer and im really working hard on my music. i keep listening to music that i love and try to understand and how do they made this. everyday every hour i never stop learning till i get better and better. i think im better now and im ready for submitting my songs to a label or a promotion. i only need a little help from other people. i want people to support me. thanks for reading and have a nice day
Keep up the good work and good luck!
Joy NXR Legacy awesome bro
Joy NXR Legacy Never give up dude ! Believe and anything can happen
He deserves this cause he has worked really hard for this. What a legend. He is so humble as well.
He's a very cool relaxed guy
and he sounds quite humble and very down to earth too. Good For you Calvin, enjoy your success
He makes me happy to be Scottish🌍🌍🌍
+Melissa Robertson And you guys need reasons to be happy, fuck! What time does the sun set in Scotland mid-October? 3pm!? 2pm!??
+Tom It's like 4pm at the earliest throughout the year
You should always be happy of your heritage no matter if there’s a fellow compatriot of yours who is famous worldwide. I am Albanian and you might have heard of Dua Lipa. I was proud and I am still proud to be Albanian before I knew about Dua Lipa. As I said everyone should be proud of their country.
Idk why people cannot understand him, i am an arab and I understand his accent so well. Anyways he is true inspiration
Calvin is.the most down to earth sweetest nicest celebirty I ever met to this say ..
I want this to be my story. Way to go, we love you!
I totally missed that : " Oh, it's THAT guy" phase and walked in on : "Woah, this music is transformational !" My daughter was driving me up to my mom's funeral, and playing her music along the way (Doesn't like my driving OR my music :) Anyway, when I heard "Thinking About You" for the first time, when I got home I put it on my mp3 and have loved it ever since. That and "Let's Go" are my favorites. I'm 62 but anything this perfect HAS GOT ME !
+Forbes ___ Great interview ! Thanks for the info. Nice to hear something in depth as this.
Such a handsome and talented guy. Very enjoyable music.
I love Calvin Harris - so down to earth & soooo gooood looooking!!! :)
agree
Saw him at Glastonbury in the John Peel tent playing his first album. I enjoyed it! Never thought he would morph into a global superstar. He must be raking it in. Still seems very down to earth and humble despite the mega bucks.
$50M a year approx
One of my favorite DJ's
true story that you should never give up. He had £4000 and ended up going back to his mum n dads house. You just gotta stick at it. I surely will!
how it's going man
Mon' Scotland! ✌🏼️ proud to be Scottish. He literally grew up an hour away from where I'm from 😃
+Alex Henderson and?
+Ben Dover lmao right
+real eyes realize real shite I thought it was just his dad who was English?
Calvin is not Gaelic at all, he is an Anglo-Saxon immigrant
siIvermate He was born in Scotland to British parents. I was born in Ireland to one Irish parent and one English parent. I'm born in Ireland hence I'm Irish. Calvin was born in Scotland hence he's Scottish.
Funny how you make assumptions about people. I always used to think “ugh, bloody Calvin Harris, must be a really annoying overconfident, entitled dick”, having never really seen or heard him in person. But he actually comes across as very reserved, polite guy, humble and grateful for his good fortune. And of course amazingly talented. I hadn’t realised until recently, just how many classic hits he’s behind. He’s pretty much ‘the sound’ of the last decade or two of pop and dance. Hats off to ya mate.
What a gorgeous voice and a gorgeous man
I could get u an autograph c:
prove it :3
I dunno, you're the one who said you can get an autograph, lol :P
I live in the same town that he grew up in, and my grans friends wi his dad :)
why would you never have thought he was Scottish, Scotland gave the world all the good things in life...tv , phone, etc.....look up all the inventions we gave to the world
He has the looks, talent, personality, and sexy accent. ;D
CALVIN
I loved his album "Ready For The Weekend" !
Edm and calm...goes round and round just like avicii ,kygo...rare thing..
Calvin is a legend🙌🏼 one of my favorite Dj’s of all time 🔥
When you create yourself and never give up ur a genius...my idol from now on
So glad for him! Happy that hes living hes dream and now his rich and can do anything! (: GO CALVIN!!!
God I love his accent!
it's crazy how he blew up I wish he stuck to his own unique style though rather than just commercial bangers
Woah, his accent is all over the place. Sounds like he's got a bit of Highlands mixed with Edinburgh and a little London on the go. Really hard to pinpoint exactly where.
Dumfries haha
yea Dumfries
qwertyuiopasdfghjks He got an English accent from his parents, as they moved up to Dumfries shortly before he was born. You can largely hear it in between the Scottish tones.
+qwertyuiopasdfghjks Dumfries. He went to the same school I went to.
It's a typical Borders accent, pretty soft.
wow great story u made it man
Great guy
I'm proud to say that I loved his stuff before he got big in the US. Merrymaking at my Place, Acceptable in the 80s, Neon Rocks, I Created Disco. Classics. His "reinvented" stuff is good too - Bounce, Feel So Close, Ready for the Weekend, Sweet Nothing - but the ones where he's singing... that'll always be the better quality ones to me.
Still like him?
@@anonymousreigns7435 I haven't heard any of his stuff in a long time. Don't really keep up with music anymore. Still love his classic stuff, though. Why?
this guy is the man!
truly inspirational
Respect !!!
I liked his old style better :( ... he is brilliant anyway, but the old vibes had something special.
I couldn't agree more. Truer words have never been spoken.
Same, I really liked the 80s track he did.
Lazy artists have to switch up there styles to keep there career alive, look at skrillex for example, the sound that made him famous has changed
macguy7900 But Calvin Harris is different, he's making more and more poppy trash to match his insane popularity and musically getting progressively worse. I appreciate artists need to evolve and leave the past to be interesting but Calvin Harris for me is certainly any example where he is going backwards in musical quality. He's selling more because he's more trendy. Why should he care? Gets insane money anyway.
he got contracts from the music mafia ( the big labels) and he had to do this kind of music, if he didn't he was poor and not so known.
Calvin Harris is the ONLY producer in history whose newer stuff sounds better than the old. Avicii can compete but thats still arguable.
Amazing producer
This is the life we thought we were getting the day we got our first set of Mk2s
I always wondered if thT was him singing in his songs
Same
I really hope his next album is more like his first - simpler music with his vocals just sounds better, it's a shame to hear him say he doesn't enjoy those tracks as much. Saw him in 2010 and it was the best gig i've ever been to. Still love his music though !
Respect
Idol
always pictured his voice without an accent, don't know why
yeah you're true
what does that mean? Everyone has an accent. Hes Scottish so his accent is Scottish.
great interview
Gosh that's how he look like way back....Hehehe.... What a transition, huh! He looks like Ryan Goslings now. Wow!
Back in like 2002, Calvin made a 12 inch single under the name "Stouffer"
I heard him at Omnia for Halloween 2015.. awesome music awesome dj. (Y)
What a top bloke, proper inspiration.
im in love with him
nice upload! seems like a chilled guy.. very insightful and equally as inspiring
NICE!!!!! :)
He has done well with his music.
true. true dat.simply true.
SCOTLAND CALVIN HARRIS
Best live act I have ever seen
A big inspiration
I am one of those fans who is looking at you doing your pop thing and saying "ahhh, look it's that guy" but your one of the few artists that has enough talent to pull it off. It is obvious that Calvin Harris is torn between worlds, but he is one of the artists who brought EDM into the mainstream and I hardly consider songs like Bounce to be sell outs.
It's not really hard to understand calvin Harris is scottish he is from Scotland which is part of Britain
Well done!
Love this guy
Wow I had no idea he was Italian until I heard him speak! Strong Italian accent!
haha try again m8
great stories, but I feel so sleepy when he's talking...
😍😍😍
indeed. indeed he is.
When did he suddenly get so hot?!
he went blonde
HE HAS A NICE BUTT.
dat eurocut
@Logan Stroganoff thank you.
He is 6feet5inch
Such a straight out G
I never would of imagined him being Scottish.
Supernova remix put him on my radar
Haha I love him !
The song in th sec. 0:55 is Sweet Nothing ft. Florence Welch
you should hear his new single with alesso. its godlike!
He's smokin' hot!
I never knew he was scottish until a few months ago.
Hi im from 2020
😊😊
lo amo aunque no entendi nada😁😁
His music used to be so so bad. Used to hate him. Love his new stuff.
My geography teacher lived in the same street as him and worked in the same shop as him
This is Dillon Francis. Yall gotta fact check your info
this joke is one more deeper
it's funny everytime in Calvin Harris's interview he always scratches his head. Jesus Christ someone get him a backscratcher before the interview starts.
That's a sign's of being nervous :p
Maybe you'll be entirely perfect, for your interview with forbes.
I never said I'm perfect. Big fan Calvin Harris :)
I replied to the original comment. The new comments system fuckin sucks; made me think people were replying to me as well, until it only made sense that the original comment was being commented on.
Well done Dabtard, amazing contribution mate.
He used to play music for Tesco.
Work hard to get it. That's the only way. Kudos.
I used to listen his records when he first came out with merrymakin' at my place, acceptable in the 80's. and i loved them! and 2 years ago i was working in a festival as an artist assistant and i ve met him and his gf. It was the beginning of his new style. and when he played it was a huge disappointment for the crowd because everybody wanted to hear the classics. So he didnt shift the audience he just got rid of them(us).
The interviewer for Forbes always seems like he hates the people he interviews LOL
lol, maybe he's jealous because they are rich?
HAHAHAHHAA!!! He probably does!
+Annie Leah I'm guessing it's more that most of them are conceited, self-absorbed egomaniacs. Not saying Calvin's that way - though what do I know, he might well be - but I think we can agree there's a strong tendency for the super-privileged to be cunts.
What gave you the vibe that he hates them?
Jake Thomas I dont know but 42 people agree with me.
I can get successful like calvin too
Great story mate. cheers for your success, but i know a lot of people that work in Smelly factories, supermarkets, & dull 9-5 jobs, that are Great Humans & very successful in what they do every bloody day. To me they are the SUPER STARS, for without them, we the greedy consuming World, could not have the services, products & FUN Crap we think we need in order to be Happy.
SO CHEERS TO THE HUMANS THAT WORK IN SMELLY FACTORIES, SUPER MARKETS & 9-5 JOBS, FOR YOU ARE THE REAL SUPER STARS YAY! & THANKS FOR ALL THE PRODUCTS YOU MADE FOR ME 9 to 5er's
*BLUE COLLAR HUMANS ROCK THE WHOLE BLOODY WORLD(;)*
I'm a Melon, so I am Green Collar, that's like Blue Collar, only Better Looking, hehe. I'm Green, so what did you expect?(;)
*Peace be unto, my Fellow Workers, of The World*
I love Calvin Harris >_
Queen Reigna But U Love me More & I Love U Best of all(;)
KENNETH THE MELON/TARBOOZ COLEMAN yes I do baby. You are number#1 in my heart
I love you sexy man
Queen Reigna YAY!(;)
KENNETH THE MELON/TARBOOZ COLEMAN Yay! That's right
To me the old stuff was great, it was popular but not poppy. It stood out and his voice added a lot of cool factor to it. I guess he joined the bandwagon now and is milking it. Good on yer my son, just remember this wouldn't be acceptable in the 80s
Omg. Hot. 😍
Le crème de la creme
hot
I need tips because i made a lot of remixes and mashups but until now i have no progress yet now, i am a little tired mixing and doing mashups
Any tips people?
From the supermarket to stardom youth I know where you are coming from. Its not easy doing music.
And Scottish............Like me :D
I live near where he is from
Okay so what I'm getting out of this is, show your work, have an account everywhere - add people and send them your stuff..
Interesting I'm same age from same area, I play 4 musical instruments professionally and scrape by financially. Should've got into djing and playing to the masses.
Or be talented and/or know how to get yourself known out there.
Haha well talent is a very subjective thing these days. Spending 20 years mastering classical piano and jazz drums is not very popular these days with the masses.
+Andy M Well, if you're playing classical then don't try to get known to the masses because they're not your demographic. Classical music has never been mainstream, always a niche.
It's all about songwriting the music creation no matter what you play.
does calvin plays instruments professionally ? i mean he is also a producer . piano keyboard or something. but professionally ? ( not asking launch pads or dj equipment )
what's the song in the beginning
I Need Your Love :D
song 0:55
Okay maybe you're right, I got the RAM album for Get Lucky and the epic album art under the assumption Daft Punk have sold out.
Calvin Harris
apparently hes about to pop the question to rita ora
Calvin Harris is a bad ass DJ!
2019?
