I see a simile of the heart of the palm to Mark's videos. The hosts laboured to get to the heart of the palm to savour the sweet center. They cooked and served it to their highly valued visitors anticipating their return. Likewise, Mark's labour over the years has served us our heart's desires( food, culture, communities, travel, tourism) making the army of 10 million keep returning for yet another dose of the anticipated treat!

He is helping them with money that he paid to be there and have the experience as well as the promotion of the village and guide. Listen to the GUIDE, and put your personal nature aside. Something as small as the thumbs up you kept seeing could get you in trouble in another country. Listen to YOUR GUIDE!!!!

I love this African tour episode. The uniqueness of the culture, food, hospitality, and the people is what makes this episode so wonderful. Thank you for sharing 💖👋
Thanks, Mark, for taking us with you to a place that most people will never be able to afford to visit. The palm is well known throughout the tropical regions of the world, but this dish is truly special and unique. I found it intriguing that the palm nuts, when pounded, gave a liquid that was reminiscent of curry! And then the added peppers and chilis would bring a flavour similar to a curry. I think that the use of the banana leaves around food and, here, at the bottom of pots is something from the African cultures and comes to us in the Caribbean also: e.g., Conkie in Barbados; Paymie and pastelles in Trinidad; Dukunnah in the Eastern Caribbean.....they impart a unique flavour but also effectively replace processed oils and added fats, transforming it into a very health kind of cooking. No frying!
Thank you very much for watching and for your insights. Truly remarkable ingredients in their un-processed state - like you mentioned it is like a straight curry juice that naturally comes out of the palm nuts!
I was surprised about the banana leave and rice. But hasnt put a mind about having no oil in it. Truly something i will try to do. Congrats on thw video Markm

As a child my parents and I traveled all over the world. Those memories and adventures are something that I hold near and dear to my heart. I love that Mark is experiencing all of this with his beautiful family. One day Micah will look back on all of this with great appreciation. Keep doing what you’re doing Mark. Your videos are making it possible for all people to travel the globe.
I love all your videos, but I wanted to give kudos to the quality of them lately. I love the up close, slow motion effects and crystal clear video. This particular one was extra awesome! I loved the heart of palm and the energy, but I have to say my favorite part was the monkeys. And I loved that man singing on the boat. All awesome stuff! Thanks for bringing us along on your journey, Mark.
Thank you so much Andrea!
I'm Nigerian and I so want to taste this food. This is some high level banga soup. Hmm those crabs 😋
I can't wait to tour West Africa.
Wow! This is one of the best Vlog you ever made Mark. This is not only Food Vlog but you document the culture/Tribe/Nature. Keep it up Mark👍🏻👍🏻
Mark, you are truly a good person. Thats why you gain favour with every people and community you go to. Keep on with the good job, and spirit.
Mark I’m so happy for you and your family. Congratulations on 10 million subscribers and it was so beautiful seeing you being welcomed with the kola nut.
Oh! I thought he was saying "cola nut" lol
Thank you very much!!
If they had not said Ivory Coast, I would have thought that was Liberia becos mehnnn everything about the welcoming ceremony, the food and language were just so the Kwa speaking group in Liberia.
This is my country Côte d’Ivoire 🇨🇮 🥰😍
I recognized my language in your country, I’m Haitian 🇭🇹
Bro👏🏾🙏🏾🇨🇮
I saw you change your text

This is for sure, one of my favorite ones. The adorable monkeys just add to it and that man singing was beautiful! ❤
Thank you Mark. Your account is very personal; you have immersed yourself in the community and the viewrers have benifitted. Thank you
.
My dad married an Ivorian and makes this soup often for us. I love it with chicken and rice especially 😋
Great to hear that!
Hopefully not with the Snells 🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮
@@blaknbeauty1"Snails" are amazing
@@pistolpete8231 hell no they ain't. Everything isn't meant to eat. That's how people get worms inside of them. You heard about the Australian woman who had 🐛 WORMS in her brain. She probably was eating things she had no business eating
@blaknbeauty1 please stick to yo candy yams and heavy diabetic American food🤣
Mark, this is our family's favorite video series that you've done! What a special series in Côte d'Ivoire. Thank you.
With all the effort that took to prepare this meal, it has to be 'stunning'. I love west African cuisine for incorporating two of my favorite ingredients in their cooking. Lots of onions and chillies
My heart melts with these videos watching from London England 🇬🇧
Tout est frais à souhait et bio quel délice c’est tellement bon et beau a voir que cela donne envie la meilleure sauce lorsque je suis dans mon pays la Côte d’Ivoire avec un bon foutou de bananes himmm miam miam
Another cultural experience another great series Côte d'Ivoire now I know how to refer to this country - big fan of Ta Lou
Being the kind of person I am, I couldn't just watch this gentleman work so hard without offering my help in any way I could. It's so hard for me personally to accept things from people cause I know how hard they worked for it and want to show them my appreciation too
He could not help with the heart of palm-did you not hear the significance of the plant towards the GUEST? He is helping them with money that he paid to be there and have the experience as well as the promotion of the village and guide. Listen to the GUIDE, and put your personal nature aside. Something as small as the thumbs up you kept seeing could get you in trouble in another country. Listen to YOUR GUIDE!!!!
Vow this is unbelievable I love this video this show that u are really working to start something in Africa I need this in Nigeria pls
Palm canniels
We have allot here in Nigeria
You can still get palm wine here from this
Thank you Mark and family, for introducing us the world with the wonderful people in Ivory Coast and Africa who welcomes you with open arms offering their best in their culture has to offer. We love the places as well all calm and polite humans beings, specially the monkey conservationist, he has a Golden Heart. ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
I dont know you Mark, but yiu are such a down to earth, humble human being. May Father God continue to bless and keep you and your family safe, in all your travels.🙏🏿
I love this African tour episode. The uniqueness of the culture, food, hospitality, and the people is what makes this episode so wonderful. Thank you for sharing 💖👋
Thank you very much!
It may look like a curry but the taste of palm nut soup is very different from a curry.
I would absolutely love to come to West Africa there. Every person was so welcoming. Not to mention the incredible palm nut and seafood stew. Thank you for sharing Mark! I can't wait to see what's next. Susie in Ky.
Hi neighbor im from Bardstown Kentucky
Thank you Susie, absolutely, West Africa is breathtaking!
I have been watching your channel for a long time- and you truly have a beautiful way of showcasing the diversity of humanity- much more than just the food. so well throughout and ultra respectful- thank you
What a wonderful life you live mark.what amazing stories you have .God bless you and your family
I'm Adjoukrou (a tribe in the south of Côte d'Ivoire), we call the heart of the palm-tree Adangbo.
I can't get enough of the African videos. Awesome!!!🥰
As soon as Leon started singing, I don't know why I started tearing up.
Waouuuuu I want to try that heart of palm Joseph have a lot of skills waouuuuu amazing he should be reward
Just when I thought Mark had seen and done it all. He has pulled a new hat out of his bag of tricks. Thank you mark for sharing your journeys of food, traditions, and adventures with us.
Wow! Mark this was a great trip bro!! The Food looks fantastic my friend!! Great Job!!!..Go West Africa!!!
Really enjoying this Ivory Coast series! As a foodies, it's always amazing to find out something new to eat or some new combination like the palm heart in palm nut soup. Blown away by the barbecue varieties/techniques in the first video, as well as the previous fish dishes. Would have been nice to understand the white traditional facial markings on the women too. 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾🤩🌟
Thank you, really appreciate it!
It’s sign of greeting ! So when you welcome someone in a village you should show your joy! That’s why they put this circle mark made from Kaolin (it’s a rock powder) on their cheeks and more ! Hope you’ll like it 🫰🏾
I really believe that people should explore more natural foods in nature. In a world of highly processed food people have lost touch with there taste buds and nutrition.
Modern humans have forgotten what real food actually is… no wonder why most people are sick. But the biggest problem is technology use.
Too late. I'm dying
Mark a million thanks for always showing us the food , the custom , the culture of each places you visit. Gives us your viewers the understanding and open mind , respect of every culture . ❤
Leon and his song and love for monkeys brought me to tears ❤ what a beautiful exclusive view of Ivory Coast culture and hospitality. Thank you for this!
It takes so much work to gather the ingredients for this meal. Shout out to them! Thank you mark for taking us to this lovely place. The food looks amazing!
Congratulations for 10 million subscribers
He deserves it

Big respect to African people 👍👏🏼💖
Bravo 👏🏿 to my country 🇨🇮🇨🇮🇨🇮🇨🇮
I can't stop salivating.
That's my favorite sauce for rice.
I prefer palm nut stew to tomato stew, and I must confess, this ivorian 🇨🇮 palm nut stew is one of the best if not the best I've seen so far. Though i've not tasted it but i bet it will be too delicious.
I'm from Nigeria, Igbo tribe and we also make one of the tastiest palm nut stew. But this ivorian version is impressive
Brother if you can come in January when there is the African Cup, then you will eat our dishes you would be welcome!
🥰🥰🥰🥰🥹 that’s so nice guy 🙏🏾 we love you too people we got the same energy
Congratulations Mark what an unbelievable achievement hitting 10 million I wish you all the success and many more videos to come!!

So amazing. Keep up the good work. Peace and love from Haiti 🇭🇹
Courage
Again I'm excited to see this.
Thanks a lot sir Mark.
Have a blessed day
Thanks!
Tu parles bien français ! Merci Mark de nous faire voyager ☺️
Mark has such a kind demeanour. I love all your reviews especially West African as I’m from Southern Africa - from a landlocked country and most of these don’t grow in our climate nor do we have easy access to seafood rather fish from lakes.
