I have no idea why I watch this channel so much….considering my flight game plan is always fall asleep after takeoff wake up when the wheels touch down.
My dad is a Flight attendent and he says when he is the purser (always) he puts the lights dark blue and then when everyone is falling asleep he puts it Pitch black 😊
As a flight attendant let me advise you to feel free and have the gate agent verify with the crew that your special meals have been loaded moments before boarding. Ultimately it's up to the purser to check the manifest before boarding to make sure we have everything we need. Sometimes we get busy, especially when there's a discrepancy during our equipment inspections, and we forget to check our meal carts. If we don't the gate agent will usually compensate with meal vouchers among other compensations.
On a good day, AA can have a seriously impressive international business class. It’s just those rare poor experiences that seem to get the most attention. If they can just be more consistent, I think that would go a long way.
I am a flight attendant for AA and I concur. Some of my coworkers are more concerned about their breaks than delivering a quality product. Thank you for acknowledging when it is good.😎
There’s no incentive for them to improve because of their omnipresence. If you have options due to your budget, location, and airport size, you can boycott an airline for life. Most people just want the cheapest, easiest route, so they’ll go for whoever fits the bill.
I enjoy your reviews so much. My priority is a good night sleep, and I have had consistently good experiences on AA’s business class and first class out of Los Angeles to Tokyo and London. The bedding and the crew’s care have been really positive for me. And when I can’t sleep, the inflight entertainment is tops. As far as cuisine, that sometimes seems carefully engineered to be just good enough.
Nonstop Dan, I recommend trying Air Canada or Westjet because they are Canada’s biggest airlines. Both our different experiences and I would love to see a video about it
You should fly to Brazil from FLL on AZUL Airlines on their brand new airbus 330 NEO! This company reminds me of our old VARIG on customer service! Awesome!
@9:26 the number of air nozzles doesn’t correspond to the LOPA. The 777-232ER was delivered 2-3-2 recliner in J, which was also configuration with the angle flat Recaro seats (2008-2016). The 777-232ERs delivered from the factory with Flagship suites had multiple sets of two air nozzles per seat/suite
I also got the opportunity to review AAL B77W from LAX-MIA a 5hrs flight. In May 2021, the service was still limited due to COVID. But the experience was absolutely surprising! I agree with you. I got a full-service breakfast like in a long-haul flight. The bar was totally filled with cookies, snacks, and drinks. FA was awesome, Safran Cirrus seats are comfortable, got a blanket and a pillow. The best part is that I got a fare LAX-SAL via MIA for just $250!! I also tried Super diamond seats (LAX-DFW) service wasn't that good but it the Definitely a great opportunity to review the 777. Love your videos keep going!
Hi Dan and Happy New Year! It's just my two cents, but I think the AA business class is just a reflection of the priorities of US business travelers. They seem to want elite status and miles more than good service and food. I had chats with people I work with about their pre-covid travel and was perplexed that they turned down the option to fly airlines like Singapore and Qatar, so they could fly on AA, United or Delta metal to earn elite qualifying dollars and Million Miler qualifying miles.
I had 3 flights in last 2 months on AA from London . Excellent service and food . From Flagship check in staff to cabin crew very friendly. I will take AA any time on my trip to US . And I am BA gold 🍺
AA service is no where near the the ME3 airlines and the AA J class is similar to Cathay Pacific (CX). Having flown AA F & J classes, the J seats are much better than BA old Club World seats. Now that BA are rolling out the Club Suites in their longhaul fleets, it is much better and positions BA back in front. Happy New Year Dan
In your opinion which is the world's BEST airline film a video according to this and tell the importance of that airline and by the way when you say a busy airport what do you mean all airport s are busy
Can you please tell me how tall you are? I heard you mention lots of leg room.... but that doesn't give me anything to gauge how comfortable it will be for me.
That Dolly Parton FA seemed warm and friendly you might wanna re evaluate that. I like the last 2 rows of business class for ultra long haul to Asia before Covid. Thanks for flying American. Great video.
I don’t disagree with you. I had a choice of connecting times from a 1420 arrival time in MIA from Europe. I opted for the 1730 connecting flight over the 1530 because I know how immigration in MIA goes.
Happy New Year, Oskar and Dan. Here's to an exciting 2022. Thanks for another great year of travel and flight reports. I'm excited to catch up with your Brazil series.
Dan, my partner is gluten free and his meals in Business Class are often very disappointing. Would you consider doing a video on airlines and how they cater for various dietary requirements? Sometimes you and Oscar are delighted with your meals but often it seems little or no effort has been made by the airline to present you with a culinary feast. Happy New Year to you both from Scotland.
In the service industry gluten free is code for "I need a reason for special attention." Why? Because it's been proven that just because something is gluten-free doesn't mean it's healthy, in fact it usually has more sugar and additives than regular food and the fact that you're on vacation or eating out and expect a special dish created just for you because you demand it is totally ridiculous.
@@Skipbo000 People usually ask for gluten free meals when they have gluten sensivity, if they eat food which contains gluten they get sick from it for days, not a very pleasant way to spend a vacation so it is a valid request, any professional food service provider should be considerate of dietary requirements.
We flew AA from JFK-BCN in November 2021 and the flight And service was Fantastic, beverages were served in Glass and food was served course by course! We also flew FC from MIA-EZE January 2022 with the same service! Not sure which month you flew!
Thank you for comparing the business class configurations for this one airline. Since we have fewer choices here in the US, it is VERY helpful to have these comparisons! Now, could you do the same for Delta?😬 Can’t blame me for asking! LOVE your reviews!
I remember business class on AA from Miami to Paris, co-share with Eithad to Abu Dhabi. the crew was nice but yes, it was nothing special. It was a 767 and the plane was rather old. Thank goodness for the professional and personable crew. though I think they called it first class, but it was really business class.
Bulkhead seats too close to the bathroom,,,,I can't stand being where people are going in and out of a restroom right next to my seat. Glad someone likes the bulkhead, thats what makes the world go round,,,,right? Great video information.
Happy New Year from Indonesia🇮🇩. Interesting fact : American Airlines only has 4 types of widebody aircraft in it's fleet : Boeing 777-200ER Boeing 777-300ER Boeing 787-8 and Boeing 787-9
Dan, Im planning a first class trip with family to Miami. The choices are b.a business (no), AA business or B.A or AA first (as not much extra in terms of cost). 2 adults and a 7 and 3 year old. Your suggestion?
Happy new year Dan!🎆🎉I flew LA to Miami on American’s 777-300ER pre-pandemic and was pleasantly surprised by the food in Business Class, although I’ve flown first class during the pandemic and the food was inedible. American has used the pandemic to cost cut, as most other domestic airlines have. Sadly, you’re right, it’ll never get better because they don’t care❤️👍✈️
one of the best travel channels to watch thanks Dan for sharing your traveling routine with us because I really do enjoy every second hope I win an ticket
In terms of seating, the best options for flights between North and South America are, in my opinion, EWR/IAH - GRU on the new United Polaris Biz, YUL/YYZ - GRU with Air Canada on the 787-9, or FLL-VCP on Azul's A330-900neo (great service as well)
Honestly this is so surprising, I fly AA and look so forward to it for many years now, from London to Miami, the seating is great and the food is so so good, always best ingredients really it is always gourmet food, nothing plastic (except on the few flights during the pandemic) but they never serve the whole meal in one tray. Connecting from a BA business flight then coming to AA business, a world of difference. I had one bad AA business from Dallas to London, the plane was old and food was bad but other than that the other 20 or so, all great. Hope you can fly London-Miami on AA now after Covid, would love to see a video for that.
While ND doesn’t have the option of showing us carnivore options for dining, it’s certainly essential that BC or FC seats on any airline need to impress the paying customer in unique ways.. There’s nothing like excellent food to make you forget about any other minor issues.. Also, the fact that US carriers are so consistantly lacking compared to Middle Eastern carriers is continuing to be unexplainable to me..
US carriers aren't funded by royal families to make business class travelers forget about humans rights issues one bottle of Dom Perignon at a time. The big 3 can't compete with that
Definitely kinda weird to wake up like that Dan! I was woken up by FA shaking my shoulder because my mask had sunk down while I was asleep. She said it wasn't covering my nose properly. I thought about everyone getting banned from flights, so I was paranoid of falling asleep again!
