      Having flown all of the airlines over the years, I can attest that the Delta crew always win out for service over the other airlines. Sure, there are good and bad people in any industry and in any company, but overall the Delta team really elevate the experience above the other airlines.

      United hard product is excellent. The food and service from flight attendants is always abysmal. Every time I'm in United business I get attitude from the flight attendants -- "put on your seatbelt!" and "We serve drinks with food only!" and "Unplug your phone before pushback!" Although they're within their right to convey this information, it's the WAY they convey it that's always wrong. It's always adversarial and reminds me of the way American police like to do their jobs -- Us vs. Them mentality on United, always.

    Delta crew are the happiest (in general), so it's no surprise that the service would be so friendly. As an American, Delta is my favorite of the three for US travel, but for transcontinental travel some Delta planes in Business are MUCH older than even seen here. American's product is much more consistently good. Tip: if you book on Delta in business for transatlantic and are using miles, pounds or dollars make sure it's a newer airplane!!

    I experienced UA Polaris on their SFO-ICN route. The Polaris lounge at SFO should be one of the top in all business lounges in the world for their catering options and quality. The seat hardware was amazing but the inflight catering was somehow disappointing.
    And with my AA flagship business class experience on their LAX-HND and ZRH-PHI, I would say the food in the lounge and onboard was quite impressive but the crew service was so cold. And the amenity kits they offered were disappointing both before and after the pandemic though I consider the down sizing the budget among the aviation industry.

    I have pot loads of award miles with AA, UA and DL. However, since I travel internationally with my wife in business from the U.S. and no longer fly for business, I redeem them judiciously. For example, on my preferred dates in early 2023 AA wants 76,000 each way, UA 60,000 and DL 120,000. I live near Delta's home in Atlanta, but for half the redemption amount I'll make a connection on UA or AA rather than a non-stop. In late December, 2021 I flew DFW-LHR-ATH with AA/BA for 57.5K. Delta wanted 320,000 one way. Sorry Delta. You lost me.

I think the Collins Super Diamond seats used by AA are fantstic, and they in fact are available with a privacy door to make them even better. Food and beverage looked very appealing on all three carriers, but I will say that Delta One stood out as particularly strong in that categroy. Lastly, an advantage of the Delta One seats is that they are all forward facing as opposed to angled, but I still suspect that the AA (Super Diamond) is the best product in terms of seat width and comfort. I will have to try all of them to see for myself!

    Are there any plans on doing a Status transfer analysis? I've been a United flyer for 35 years and a 1K for at least the last ten. Their product has diminished continually for the last several years so I want to move my status to AA or Delta. Thanks

    As a 30yr DL Captain, I can say that we are the ears and eyes of the airline. We see things nobody else does. My guess is most airline cabin service very similar but the big difference between airlines is what you don’t see. For example, when I see a passenger frantically waving at us from the terminal window at departure time and the cabin door is still open, I go back to the boarding door and mention this to the agent. They are under EXTREME pressure to depart ON TIME, but I accept the delay to get them on. Sure, I’ll get a call from the Chief Pilot, and they say that “on time” is what passengers want, but is that really true? We hate getting these calls about waiting for connecting luggage, fixing something small, or enough catering to feed everyone, but I don’t mind. I know there are sometimes more important things comparing business lounges. So next time you fly, please consider what happens up front and how we affect your travel experience. A small tweet to management might be nice.

      I agree with you 100%. I have friends who are retired pilots and I always ask who do prefer to fly with now. This includes my Father who was a WW2 bomber pilot and the answer is 109% Delta. Why? Because they think Delta runs the tightest, most rigorous crew training, maintenance, ground operations in the US. Sure there are always ways to improve the hard product, customer service and catering with all domestic US carriers but for me arriving safely is most important.

    Finally, I've been waiting for this comparison in years. Thanks a lot. I've always wondered if any of them is worth a try. I've always been told to stick to European carriers. Honestly, AA in this review even seems much better than many BA flights I've taken on this route.

    • @johniii8147
      @johniii8147 Год назад

      It's outdated advice to stick to European carriers in J. The big 3 upped their game quite a while ago in business class.

    • @jayiwa
      @jayiwa Год назад +1

      @@johniii8147 Yeah I thought so. The moment I wanted to try them everyone around me kept saying to avoid. Next time I’ll definitely try them myself, although I must bear in mind that these 3 guys might’ve got better service if the crews knew they were RUclipsrs.

      @@jayiwa US Ailines generally have a decent hard product. Where they fail is in the catering and especially the in flight service. With very rare exceptions, it's abysmal. The last couple of years of cost cutting has made it even worse.

    I’ll be doing Delta One LHR-DTW next month so I’d love to know how you got to the Upper Class Wing drive up entrance if you didn’t arrive by car; I’d like to do the same.

      You go through The Wing for private security anyway, so even if you don’t come by car, your boarding pass will allow access to The Wing when travelling in Delta One. After checking-in just head up lift (or elevator) at the end of the check-in desks, as you come out make a left and scan your boarding pass barcode underneath the white card reader. Enjoy.

      @@HomebaseLHR Thanks for that. I do know about going through the normal terminal check in and gaining access via the elevator.
      I was intrigued how Nicky got to the Upper Wing drive up entrance without a car because I saw a video a few weeks ago where the lines into T3 were outside the building and people were complaining they couldn’t get into the terminal just to get to the business class check in.

      @HomebaseLHR Год назад

      @@martind323 yeah the lines were long, but we pulled out all the business class customers and pulled them forward. However, it has calmed down considerably since then. Lines (obviously) still exist, but you should be through the check-in process in about 5 minutes or less

    I recently returned from a round trip from Chicago to Tel Aviv on United Polaris First Class and it exceeded expectations. The food on my flight was pretty good but what made it outstanding was the comfortable and private flat bed, the cute and thoughtful toiletry kit and mostly the Saks Fifth Ave. duvet and extra blanket, 2 pillows and slippers. I slept 7.5 whole hours!!! Paying for restful sleep was worth every penny. Highly recommend United Polaris First Class. Will fly again.
