Should have given them some 40 Creek, some Crown Royal Canadian Harvest Rye, and the CC should have been their 100% Rye in my opinion. All that said, I’m glad these Irish folks enjoyed it! I happen to prefer Irish whisky myself, oddly enough
As a dyed-in-the-wool Canuck, I can attest that most Canadian whisky is more Scottish- than Irish-style and is usually either: A)mid-priced & suitable for a wide range of palates - or - B)harsh rotgut that'll keep you warm in winter while turning your liver into pemmican The whiskys in group A are usually drunk as a cocktail with mixers, while those in group B are usually enjoyed straight out of the bottle (preferably one that's wrapped in a brown paper bag).
Haley was 100% right with her comment on CC..’this would be good with a mixer’. The mixer is Ginger Ale. Just like “Jack & Coke’, ‘CC & Ginger’ is the bomb. Been drinking it for 50 years….and there are few mid market Canadian whiskeys with drinking straight.
I still have a (half-empty) bottle of the "Battle of the Glen" - amazing stuff. I think the apple trees out near Mabou are what give Glen Breton its apple notes.
None of these whiskey’s are drank by Canadians. I only drink Canadian Club when I’m abroad. Crown Royal, Wiser’s, Gibson’s, and Forty Creek are the main whiskey’s up here 😊
Fellow Canadian here - and have been drinking whiskey, bourbon and rye for many years. These are not a good representation of the whiskey we have to offer tin Canada. CC is a classic, but it's very standard run of the mill. We have some exceptional whiskeys here that will give even Ireland and Scottland a run for their money. Last year I and a very good friend toured Ireland and Scottland specifically to tour whiskey - and we discovered so many incredible whiskeys you cannot get in Canada, this obviously goes the other way too. If you get a chance here is a solid list: - Bearface - Forty Creek - Lot 40 - 99 Gretzky Just as a start :)
Canadian here... Canadian Club, possibly Canada's cheapest whisky, has got to be loving these reviews... Sad they didn't procure a bottle of Lot 40 out of Alberta. Also, a failure to deliver any Crown Royale is basically a complete failure... Not sure where you found that corn whisky though, definitely not a mash bill that is at all common in Canada. Also, what is this abomination of an orange / oats / vanilla crap, also not normally consumed in Canada
@@codymiller9408 used to be before they moved away from the dark bottles. The new "niagara whisky" just doesn't do it for me like it used to when it was first getting popular.
As a Canadian, this was a perfect summary of our whisky. Whisky fans don’t drink stuff like CC, 2 brands I’ve never heard of, and Glen Breton is genuinely great. The fact is, we keep our best stuff to ourselves.
The irish loving canadian things is like giving itself a pat on the back. In the late 1800s, 90 percent of immigrants were coming from Ireland. Myself of irish lineage, saw my last name on this episode today, which I feel is kinda rare.
Even though I don't drink, I felt could relate to the people in this video. My grandmothers on both sides of my family had Irish maiden surnames, and my paternal grandmother's family came to Canada from Portadown, which is now situated in Northern Ireland, sometime around 1911. As an aside, she had dark red hair and blue eyes like Lolsy does.

The whiskys in group A are usually drunk as a cocktail with mixers, while those in group B are usually enjoyed straight out of the bottle (preferably one that's wrapped in a brown paper bag).
TLDR.. one is rye, one is barley
Turn your liver into pemmican lmao
I am legit envious that this fine group got to spend their day this way.
As a Canadian, I prefer 40 Creek whiskey.
Haley is awesome!! We love her. Her and Callyanne would be the most animated pairing ever
"Maybe I just needed canadian in me" 😂 by Hayley would have been gold on its own but Seamus comeback😂😂😂😂😂 TOP TIER
I am Canadian and no, sorry, I will pass. Any other Canadian volunteer? 😂
Top tier? top here Seamus ; )
As a Canadian I approve of her statement.
@@jay-effmichaudyup I'm in! I've got a weakness for that Irish brogue.
@@batmanwins5701 'yup i'm in' wow that was quick !
The Glenora Distillery in Cape Breton, which makes the Glen Breton, is amazing!
Glenora Distillery is 10 miles away from me. They have some amazing options and the 10 Rare, IMO, is on the low end.
@@michaelmacisaac8115 I remember visiting it in the 90's when they first opened. The tour and taste tests were fantastic.
I still have a (half-empty) bottle of the "Battle of the Glen" - amazing stuff. I think the apple trees out near Mabou are what give Glen Breton its apple notes.
Hayleys an absolute unit. Hats off
I quite literally live in South Park Seattle WA...at school people used to say i killed kenny 😭😂
Canadian Cub 43 is a wonderful dram. In keeping with tradition, its not outrageously expensive for something so old. Delicious.
A Kiwi here! We definitely love our CC here and it's usually my go-to. Generally CC or Jamieson's are probably the most popular whiskeys these days
Such a fun video! Hayley and her expressiveness are HILARIOUS!!
If you get a chance here is a solid list:
- Bearface
- Forty Creek
- Lot 40
- 99 Gretzky
Just as a start :)
If you are in Ottawa try Dunrobin Distillery . YUMM
Thanks for the laughs, y'all!!! Lolsy ... lmfao
You guys make my day. Keep up the good work.
Just happen to be sitting having a Gibsons 12 yr old ! Cheers from YYZ 🇨🇦
Personally, I like _Wisers_ or _Gooderham & Worts_ , but that's just me.
@@roystonlodge both good . Had a penchant for the little brown jug when I was in high school lol
I'm sitting playing my Gibson while watching this.

Where's the Alberta Springs?!?
Never heard of that one! Any good?
Canadian here... Canadian Club, possibly Canada's cheapest whisky, has got to be loving these reviews... Sad they didn't procure a bottle of Lot 40 out of Alberta. Also, a failure to deliver any Crown Royale is basically a complete failure... Not sure where you found that corn whisky though, definitely not a mash bill that is at all common in Canada. Also, what is this abomination of an orange / oats / vanilla crap, also not normally consumed in Canada
Did NOT see that coming! I love Darren!😂
Nice to see Fiona again
Yes, she's lovely and smart :)
Wish they'd tried 40 Creek, if for no other reason than the fact that I live about 20 minutes away from the distillery
Not the fact its one of Canada's best whiskeys
@@codymiller9408 used to be before they moved away from the dark bottles. The new "niagara whisky" just doesn't do it for me like it used to when it was first getting popular.
As a Canadian, this was a perfect summary of our whisky. Whisky fans don’t drink stuff like CC, 2 brands I’ve never heard of, and Glen Breton is genuinely great. The fact is, we keep our best stuff to ourselves.
Darren: I’ve never had a non Irish corn whiskey.
Also Darren: I love Bourbon
Hilarious how shocked Dermot looked after that kiss! 😂 I think his reaction was genuine!
The smacking of Seamus' lips, Hayley's moan, and then Seamus' wheeze at 6:13 have me choke laughing rn 🤣💀
Bucket list... taking Hayley and Lolsy on a whisky tasting adventure (with good whisky), just for the facial expressions.
Crown Royal tastes pretty good and comes in a purple drawstring bag around Christmas which is ideal for storing Scrabble tiles.
You gotta het the trailpark boys whiskey
8:44 well, they age there whiskey 12 years, so there due fer a nother barrel to be ipened
Hayley just became a major player
Hayley's reactions are hilarious!
😂❤ You guys are great! Loved how much Seamus cracked up watching Hayley.😆👍
Love seeing the ladies get lit on Canuck whiskey
Non Canadians think that because CC is smooth it's not strong and then wake up pantless in Winnipeg with a moose tattooed on their arse.
Hayley needs to know whiskey is for sipping not All down the hatch in one shot.
Lolsy shocked me the way she handled most of these with no problem. Then she did that accent, and I was amazed. It must have been the Canadian booze!
She has a very good ear
Coureur des bois: Quebec maple cream whiskey
Sortilège maple syrup whiskey.
Creamaglace vanilla cream.
Ochlag hibiscus gin
aw so many you should have tried, Love me my Canadian whisky - crown royal, wisers, gibbin etc.
I think that Hayley is the new Justine when it comes to whisky
