My old deere 420 gardens great
Hey Robert thanks for stopping by, appreciate your feedback. It’s been a few years since I’ve worked on this project , I really don’t remember much about this mower, sorry I can’t be more help
I keep referring back to this because it's a lawnmower just like mine and I'm having trouble. I'm ready to put the transmission back on but the clutch was disassembled and now I don't think it's right how do I know for sure? Can I tell how it functions or can you talk me through the reassembly? I may not be calling it by the right name it's what the linkage of the transmission connects to.
Id love to help you out but I'm not 100% sure about that. I only take them apart. I dont really fix them. I'm glad to see you come back to my video but sorry i cant be more help.
On my 160 the blade height adjustment that is the left lever between your legs has stopped working. My blades are too low. Any tip as to how to tackle this. Do you think from the top (somehow remove the top green sheet metal) or the bottom (take the mower deck off and put it up on ramps)?
Did you figure out what was wrong with your height adjustment mine does same only way I can get mowed is set wheels so it doesn't go all the way down but it rife on scalp wheels
@@toddburton5548 Yes, but just by taking a bunch of stuff apart that I knew nothing about. There is a kind of gear in there that somehow got flipped into the wrong position It is Deere part number AM103406. It's called a "stop". If you can get to it just pull it back to it's proper position.
I have one like this and when I went to pull off the back tire the whole axle came out- they said it lost a snap ring at the other end how do you put that back?
@@darrylponton Thank you, what you did today on this video was a big help. Mine's just like this. like I said and in order to fix the snap ring at the end of the shaft on the back tire I have to take the transmission off and apart.
Thanks so much for subscribing! Honestly I know you cab take it off without removing the trans but i just take them apart maybe george can help you just visit www.ebay.com/str/gwusedmowerparts

It’s been a while since I’ve worked on that one but I’m shure you have to go underneath and adjust the hangers
Or underneath for the adjustable lever there’s a small cotter pin it may have come off
can you raise the rollers ??? on the deck ??

Usually snap rings to be put back on with a pair of pliers
@@darrylponton inside the transmission
That sir I'm not sure I'm sorry and I know how youtube is its next to impossible to find

If whole axle came out you have to take transmission out and take the bottom cover off was it froze on dit you beat on it with a hammer 😅
Hello! I have a 170 and I'm trying to remove the neutral safety switch without taking out the transmission. Any tips?
