      @@JohnsonsSmallEngines- the pulley was bad (splines worn) and now with new pulley and fan it’s moving but barely. I can smell a little bit of rubber / belt burning smell so back to the drawing board. I feel like it’s slipping so I have to look at more videos I bet you fix that in another video 😅

    On mine I remember a guy saying I'd never push bigger snow with mine but after changing up it was amazing with just what can be done with less. Thanks on your great reviews

    Gave you a thumbs up as usual but i hope you went back and cleaned that transmission, there was so much debris in the cooling fins and on top that the fan could never cool it,but i have seen you go back and fix stuff that was missed before so im confident you caught it before returning unit😊

      I sure did. I had to install a new transmission drive belt and after the install of the transmission belt I use compressed air to clean the transmission off. I should have cleaned it for the vewers but when I'm doing a video, I like to keep going. Thanks for watching, the thumbs up and supporting the channel.

    I have a 240 and I think I have a bad drive pulley as well. Thank you for the video. Even though it’s a different model, I see similarities and your video helps a lot.

    I'm debating 8n which one to keep my animal lx176 or the lt160 which I put all new wiring on and stator to carb, I had issues with the file pump so I gutted it and converted it to vacuum and added a vacuum pump. They both run great but the dedition 8n what to let go is tough.

    On the lx176 I have a slight hydro leak 8n the rear-end so I'm thinking the gaskets bad by the location

    I like the removing things on the lx176 over the lt160 since it's a pain

    We have a John Dere LX 176 with leaking oil seals on the rear axel ,it looks like we have to split the diff along the half shaft to get the new ones in,do you know if this
    is this correct?

    • @JohnsonsSmallEngines
      @JohnsonsSmallEngines  2 месяца назад

      I do not remember and do not want to give you incorrect info. I would suggest to pull the wheels and taking a look. Sometimes the older transmission did give the option to replace without out splitting the transmission.

      I sure did, you all never see me work on any dirty machines! LOL. I normally clean them before the video and this one I obviously did not. I also needed to install a transmissoipn drive belt so I cleaned it after the transmission belt was in. Thanks for watching and supporting the channel.

      Yeah I'm sure at $100 per hour the customer would appreciate you investing a couple of hours in detailing the transmission on a $500 mower.
