Thanks for the vid, snap ring was a mother to get off due to space and for me it was easier to get new pulley on by pulling on the right side harder. Nice and quiet now, another 20 years she is good.

Thank you for sharing your video. The snap ring removal was an issue. I finally went to Harbor Freight and purchased a Qinnn snap ring removal tool. The pins didn’t break like the Titan tool did. I would recommend the Motion Pro 08-0127 Heavy Duty Spring Hook Tool. If the spring releases tension on the pulley you will need this tool.

Ive had this happen on an x304 and x300 where it totally stripped the teeth. On one i just used jb weld in the splines on the old pulley. Worked great. New pulley is $35

This just happened to my X300 pulley today. Suddenly it would just whine and barely move. All the splines stripped out. I dropped the transaxle and split the case to change the oil out for 2 qts of Castrol 5w50 Syn. Now on the hunt for the pulley.
Just watched your other video about the pedal adjustment. I have Limited reverse so now I'm anxious to go see if the pedals are out of adjustment. Thanks for the movies.

When I worked on all this stuff, I probably changed a hundred of those pulleys on Tuff Torq transmissions. Multiple different brands of tractor.

Hello, I have a question and your opinion ? I have had my pulleys changed twice. Once the new pulleys have been installed the noise goes away. But after I use the x300 all summer and use my cyclone rake to pick up leaves the noise seems to return the next year? The second time I took it in for the noise they said the pulley wasn't bad( I had purchased a pulley and told them the noise was back) they when ahead and changed it and the noise was gone. What is your opinion do you think the trans is bad? The video was very well put together and you did a great job explaining it. thanks for your help. Gene

Thanks for the info. Notice the pulley made in China. Buy American😆

Everything is made in China, a new John Deere even has the" made in china" labels still stuck on the parts.
