    Thanks so much for this. I would never have had the confidence to do something like this on my own but you made it look easy and I was shocked at how smooth everything went. Now my D105 is running like new again and I didn't need to break the bank to have it fixed.

    Just wanted to say thanks for the video. I bought a used tractor with the incorrect transmission belt installed and it came off the clutch. I had no prior experience working on this and I used the video as my bible to the fix. Well done and much appreciated!

    Thank you very much! I watched 3 other videos that required the entire tractor body to be removed and my tractor sat in my backyard for 2 years before I found your video.
    I just fixed it. My tractor only runs in forward now, but I don’t care.
    This was John Deere’s worst mistake.
    I’ll never buy another one with a fucking CVT.
    I got 240 hours out of that belt.

    Man thank you for this video my mower is doing the exact same thing, brought it to a John Deere dealership bc it’s the D105 they went straight to “needs a transmission” I got home saw your video and checked the belt on mine is the 37410 not the 37419 so i just ordered a new belt!

      Spring is in good shape, but the transmission belt (37410) I can take it off with my finger not even a struggle, and I brought it to John Deere today and told them that about the belt, but I have a feeling all they did was see it was the D105 and figured it was the transmission that is gone.

      I converted a D105 to hydrostatic. I found an old mower as a donor.

      Yeah I saw this video also, if this belt doesn’t work I’m going to look into that… the mower is in great shape, no rust or anything, only 50.7hrs on it… I so I am really hoping this belt works and brings life into it… I will keep you posted hopefully new belt comes in in next day or 2

      Well I got my belt in today… and I changed it from the 37410 to the 37419 and this thing is moving full of life again!
      Man thank you so much for this video! The John Deere dealership told me my transmission was shot all because it was the D105 auto, and they have transmission issues, but they didn’t check anything, I even told them the belt was so loose I could take it off with a finger, and it was your video that got me moving like it’s brand new again. Thank you again! Your video saved me ALOT of money…

    I know it's old but if you're having this issue with the drive belt being loose. Not the transmission or deck belt. The drive belt. Clean the entire underneath (dirt, grass, shit) and oil all bolts and springs including the break pulley system. That was my issue. My drive belt was loose and couldn't tighten and was in good condition. Underneath was clean. I played with break pulley system and found that assembly was rusting or just junked up where it's connected to underside. After Sea Foam Deep Creep the whole thing and actuating it, it felt like new. 3 different belts later and messing with it for half a day to find out it just needed some love. I suggest doing a deep clean before buying new parts. Hope this helps. I know it will.

    Have you tried an aftermarket belt to replace the GT37410? I’ve tried to 2 different vendors with 2 different belt numbers. The factory oem is approximately 9/16” width. Both aftermarket belts were 3/4” width This didn’t allow variable pulley to fully engage. Have you come across this problem also? I’m thinking I’ll have to bite the bullet and pay for OEM

    • @WeekendHobbyMechanic

    I had the spring come of 2 years ago. Replaced trans belt with new kit. Original belt when bought was 37410. New kit had 37419. Just recently put on new dive belt gx24154 as mower going really slow.
    New belt hasn't helped.
    Both belts seem very loose ie. I can pull them together easily.
    Can these be tightened. Everything else seems fine.
    Hate having to mow now.

    • @WeekendHobbyMechanic
      @WeekendHobbyMechanic  3 месяца назад

      Belt can’t be tightened. Has to be something wrong with the clutches.
      Check for debris around the clutches. Blow compressed air around the top of the transmission. Check the clutches for proper movement.

      @@WeekendHobbyMechanic .
      Found issue.
      Reluctantly pulled out the transmission. Screws that hold down the variable pulley had come loose. This also caused the bearing housing bracket at the bottom of the pulley to gouge out.
      Fixed by turning the bracket around 180 degrees. Done up the pulley bracket screws tight.
      Put back together.
      What a difference. Might put wings on the mower cause she Flys now.

    There must be some bad information out there somewhere because I had the same incorrect belt installed on mine by the person I got it from or the shop that was working on it for them. 37410… And the one that I took off was near about brand new so it is just been put on recently but whoever did it wrong. That’s the reason I actually got the mower because they told me it just didn’t perform like it used to and they were going to get something else because they were tired of paying to get it fixed.

    • @WeekendHobbyMechanic
      @WeekendHobbyMechanic  Год назад +1

      I think 37410 is the old original belt and John Deere changed it to 37419 later. I should've measured it.
