Thank you for sharing your information, I submitted one of my poems to magazine and they charged me, didn't get paid for it , it was a $25 fee to publish, I will check into the companies, thank you ❤😊.
Darlene, Yes, there are many that will charge you to publish your work. I would encourage you to publish your own chapbook! It can be as little as 10 pages; you can sell it on Amazon or your own website.
Thank you for the information truly appreciate it sweetheart. I no this maybe a bit unorthodox but would it be okay if I sent you some of my poetry. I used to do it quite often back-in-the-day even self-publish a few books. Took some time off to focus on family, life and work now I'm going to try to get back into my creative craft. And would love to get your honest opinion on some of my new material.
Hello Thomas and thank you. You can certainly send me some of your work. I will be honest in that it may take me a minute to get some feedback to you but I will. Please use hello@archuletachisolm.com
Had an poem published around 1996-98...an ex girlfriend submitted something I had done for her into a contest...10th out of nearly 100,000... recently got back into it...I think I've recently outdone myself lol...how does one go about avoiding scams plagiarism.?
Glad to hear that you are back into it! Can you expand on what you mean by avoiding plagiarism scams? If you're speaking about how to avoid someone plagiarizing your work, the best thing is copyright your work before sharing it on socials or any other platform. You can do a single poem or a group of poems, outside of an entire book, with the copyright office. That way you're protected and can take legal action against anyone that steals your work. Let me know if you have other questions or concerns!
You are right - they don't pay well. But I believe it's a good start to get your work out there and have those publishing credentials in your portfolio.
