  • Carrying out a basic oil and filter service on the Opel/Vauxhall Zafira Tourer.
In this video, I carry out an oil change, oil filter, cabin filter and air filter renewal on my 2014 Zafira Tourer, also known as the Zafira C. I have used a 5W30 Dexos2 compliant oil and genuine GM/Opel/Vauxhall parts purchased from Autovaux (www.autovaux.co.uk).
The guide is intended for entertainment purposes only, make sure that your vehicle is properly supported before venturing underneath and consider disconnecting the battery before performing any work on the vehicle.

So much easier to remove the wheel to do the oil filter 😉

Maybe. It didn’t really bother me. I had to be under the car anyway to clean up surface rust on the subframe.

I cannot speak too highly of your meticulously detailed video. Everything i needed to know about basic service. Yes, I agree about annoying warnings! Do you know if it's possible to disable the "seat belt warning" bleeping? Bill

Superb job many thanks I have the 2016 2 litre cdti manual. If you still own the vehicle could you please advise on gearbox oil change?

I no longer own the Zafira. However, it has not travelled far….my mum owns it. It’s about due for a gearbox oil change, I’ll take a look and will no doubt document the process 🙂

Many thanks, with the demise of the great Haynes manuals for many recent vehicles we will have to share and support each other even more on RUclips, forums, etc

Hi, there. Thanks for a super range of interesting tech videos. Would you happen to know the capacity of your Zafira Tourer gearbox and also at which RPM the turbo kicks in? Thanks again?

Love watching your videos sir.. have you ever had a problem with the parking sensors? Mine don't work and google isn’t any help.

    • @JCTsFascinatingHobbies

Do you get any warnings that they’re not working? A suitable code reader should identify the fault. They can short internally…..

Its say service parking sensors when i put it into reverse. I will hook one up and look. Pressing the parking button (red light just flashes).
Thank you for the reply and happy new year.

All it says is service parking assist.. no codes on the code reader. Think it may be a case of taking each one off and checking

Just wondering.. why are you heating up the engine? Is the bolt easyer to unscrew when it’s heated?

    • @JCTsFascinatingHobbies
      @JCTsFascinatingHobbies  3 года назад +1

Heating up the engine makes the oil, thinner. It helps the oil flow out of the engine, more easily, and, helps shift any deposits that may be hiding within the oil galleries.

Don't force it, you don't want to round it off. Try applying some penetrating oil over the course of five days. Use a six sided socket of the correct size, or the relevant torx bit, and try breaking it free. If in any doubt, take the car to your preferred repair shop.

With changes to the way I work, less onsite interaction required.....it just doesn't get the use my previous cars did. I had a Vectra C, that accrued 60K miles over two years, a Zaf B with a similar amount of mileage, covered......this one, bought in 2015 with 4K miles on the clock. It's below average, mileage wise, but, will get two services a year, just because :)

JCTs Fascinating Hobbies yeah was expecting mine to reach 60k at four years old in Oct but now just tickling 48k.
