    Hey I’m making my first trip from Dublin to Cherbourg on a ferry in August, can I ask what are the rules regarding mask wearing on the ferry?

    • @PlanetPatrick
      @PlanetPatrick  2 года назад

      Right now Irish Ferries says it is “recommended” except in French waters (when close to Cherbourg) where it is mandatory.
      In reality, there was a mix of people wearing or not wearing masks on board.
      The rules do change regularly so keep an eye out on the IF website if it’s something you are concerned about.

    The journey should be the same but those bastards at Irish ferries doubled the price of a trip, from my last crossing in 2020 and that is typical of scumbags ripping people off as there will be huge demand in 2022 after the pandemic., what makes it worse is that the IRISH government paid Irish Ferries to continue their sailings during the pandemic under the national disaster fund and they got paid for carrying nobody over and back except a few trucks and lorries.

    • @PlanetPatrick
      @PlanetPatrick  2 года назад

      Hi Tony, the trip was definitely more expensive than during the pandemic when I took it last (in 2021 when things opened slightly), but not by much. Sorry to hear you experienced such a price hike. It feels like everything is soaring just now too.

      @@PlanetPatrick I booked a holiday in France in Feb and Irish ferries were looking for over €2000 for a return trip in July, Brittany ferries and Stena line were all around €1000 but were booked out at the time I needed, Irish ferries is still available to book today for a return trip in July, and the fuckers have reduced the price to about €1700, I think most people know at this stage that Irish Ferries are a Rip Off.

    Irish ferry , but not single Irish person working in that boat , day light robbery.
    You pay €70 plus €30 for seat as foot passenger and you pay €20 deposit for blanket to keep you warm ( but you already pay €30 🤔)
    You pay €3 for dry croissant 🥐
    and on top of that you get crappy costumer service.
    Avoid, Avoid and Avoid,
    You can travel with
    Brittany ferry and Stena line, at least there is English speaking people

      @@PlanetPatrick I will enjoy your videos. Such a weekend here in Ontario. I had just finished watching your Irish Ferry Video and it got very dark, within 10 minutes we had a Tornado or a Hurrican touch down. We got no warning. I went straight down to my old basement (my house is very old) and I am surrounded with big old maple trees, I have never been so frightened. I have a staircase from basement out into my driveway (that I never use) but I figured if a tree fell on my house, I would be safer there and could escape.
      The noise was so frightening. It lasted about 15 minutes. A big tree branch fell on my roof and then the wind picked it up and it came down against my house but no damage.
      Anyway I had no power from 1.00 pm my time Saturday till Sunday night. My town was very badly hit. Many many beautiful big old trees lost. So definitely no video watching or any thing on the weekend. Last night I saw on Instagram that you were on Achill Island (I think). Tonight after supper I shall relax with ipad and your latest travels. Apologies for the long message. You are certainly getting around. I hope that you are meeting many nice people everywhere you go. Stay safe.
