Here are my 5 top reasons you should consider before buying a MoonSwatch
I knew from the start these things were way overpriced. They were more expensive than most Sistem51 models I never understood all the excitement. I mean, brilliant marketing play by Swatch. Re-branding plastic as "bioceramic" There were RUclipsrs actually telling people they were getting a Speedmaster for 260 dollars. It was ridiculous. My Helm Vanuatu was around the same price more or less. It's really a shame that people fall for this stuff so often.
Absolutely 💯 I agree with you. I knew from the get go thought this was strange and it is BLATANT marketing (I mean putting a horse on a fiat doesn’t make it a Ferrari 😁)

Good video. I had the opportunity to buy a moonswatch recently. But when I had them in hand they felt super cheap. Instead I bought a Swatch Irony Chronograph. WAY BETTER.

Very good review! The look of the MoonSwatch is not bad, but value for money: overpriced. Once you had some Seikos or Citizens in your hand, you will have more fun in long-term. Price is what you pay, value is what you get.

Good video, thanks. More things to consider: 1. you cant replace the crystal. 2. Its not possible to repair the watch. 3. Swatch offers fine chronos with the same clockwork for usd 120! 4. Bioceramic breaks easily when changing straps. 5. The material for the glowing hands is poor.

Are you trying to say this Swatch is built like every Swatch ever?
@@drbobsnightmare2521 Yes. The MoonSwatch is a Swatch. It looks like a Omega Speedmaster and there is the Omega Logo on the dial - but it's a Swatch! It uses a standard Swatch chrono clock work (built by ETA), its produced in Swatch factories and the case is a plastic spray cast like any other plastic Swatch. If it stops working with active battery, you have to trash it - like all other Swatches, even the Sistem51 and Irony Swatches!
And: You cannot buy it in a Omega Store (...you know, it's a Swatch). You have to try to get one in a Swatch store ...and again if they are sold out. If you order one online from a flipper, you risk to get a 30$ replica from China.
Please don't get me wrong. I'm a Swatch fan since 1983 and if you like the MoonSwatch, then get one. In any other cases, have a look at other Swatch chronos like the Black one (120$) or the Irony chrono (180$). As for me, i own a Black one, a Speed up and a Ocean pay. Maybe, one day, if the MoonSwatch will be sold online and the price drops, i will get mine too 🙂
Have you seen one of the $30 replicas from China? I have and they are scary close to the real thing! They're worth $30 not $260!
@@sinjinadams2862 Yes, I've seen one and they are pretty good (copied)! Both watches (MoonSwatch and Replica) are Plastic Watches with a cheap Velcro Strap and a Quartz Movement. However, The MoonSwatch Clockwork is ways better! But still not worth 250 USD. You can clearly see this when looking at the Swatch "Black One". This is a Plastic Watch using the exactly same Clockwork as the MoonSwatch! It costs ...120 USD. I own an "Black One" and are very happy with it. Its weight is only 28 gram and it works very reliable.

I understand, I agree BUT... MoonSwatch is so cool!!!!! ;P and thats the point: it is sexy, it is cool, it is funny, it has Omega logo... and thats all.
I have two of them: Mercury an Mars... it is not an everyday watch but I love them.

I would never buy one of these watches to wear it. To me, this is just a novelty item. Something to be placed on a display shelf and looked at. At $260 USD, it's just an expensive toy. This isn't a real watch. If you do wear it, don't expect it to last very long.

Lmao - I always do! With a gshock - lol. What’s the actual point of have wr is you don’t use it? But personal taste and usage aside (which really is a PERSONAL taste matter) let me ask you what kind of serial killer buys a watch with VELCRO in 2023 especially if you take it off to shower/bath?? I mean COME ON. THATS is utterly ridiculous and not having more than 3 bar… that’s the elephant in the room we should adress don’t u think?
@@watch_luver i think you are rigth (about the strap, but it is a cool look to it), it is a 250 usd watch, not an expensive watch and people that like it (like me) should love it for what it is, for me, a crhonograph is not for swimming, and you cannot compare it to a casio because it will never be as pretty as the moonswatches, these watches are for using them for a conversation starter or just because you like the model, i would spend 250 on these watches over any other brand in the price range, btw i own a moon and a mars, i dont even swim with my bond seamaster. Also, it is very fun to use them with different straps

@@watch_luver what i truly hate about the model is that they decided to only sell it on some stores, flipers are going crazy with this! you cannot buy a neptune, of course, i woudnt pay 1000 usd or more for these watches, even if is a neptune.
