John Paul Jones plays all the keyboards with Zep as well as bass player. He is all over this track. Jimmy Page plays all the guitar parts on everything they do
I mean not all, but majority. A lot of songs like South Bound Sahrez and Boogie With Stu, with countless others off of coda being played by someone from the Rolling stones. Like I said majority were by him, I'm just saying that not all. One of the greatest musicians alive
John Paul Jones plays organ, bass, and piano on this one. Yes, Jimmy Page also layers his guitars on many songs which makes it interesting to watch the live versions to see which part he plays where. You're sounding good! 🙂
I love all led zeppelin but this one is so beautiful done and takes me to another world as does Battle of Evermore another must check out studio version first.❤❤❤
I started high school in 1969 and from there the music just kept getting better and better. Not just rock either, the Motown sound was peaking at the same time and there was...........Disco. But, yeah, hearing a new Led Zeppelin song every few weeks for the entirety of my high school years was fantastic. There's still good music being made today but not like it was through the 60's and 70's. One of the best things about being young in that day!
About time Reaction videos go beyond Zepps headline songs and find the reeeeaaally good stuff. Btw, if you catch yourself listening to this song over and over again for the rest of your life, join the Club 😉 other "sleepers" I recommend are Tea for One, Battle of Evermore, How Many More Times, I'm Gonna Crawl, The Lemon Song, Over the Hills and Far Away, The Rain Song, Tangerine, That's the Way, Travelling Riverside Blues, Four Sticks (to name a few)
Of course, for studio recordings, on certain songs (like this one) you can find several guitars or several keyboards, just as Robert Plant's voice is sometimes doubled or more to form a choir, it's the mix, this is the job of the sound engineer. On stage live it's different. Very happy to see a young guy enjoying the work of Led Zeppelin. Proof that their music is now part of the world's musical heritage.
regarding john paul jones , robert plant used to say it was like having an orchestra on stage with them. He provides the flute on stairway to heaven using his keyboard , he provides the organ on for example your time is gonna come and thankyou , he provides the mandolin on going to california , thats the way and battle of evermore. Think about dazed and confused - the iconic opening base line is JPJ. during live performances he often plays keyboard with his hands and bass pedals with his feet, playing two different sections at the same time. You can't overstate how important he is , he and john Bonham are like the warp and the weft of a fabric and then jimmy Page and Robert Plant are like the texture, pattern and colour . The best way to learn about the instruments is to watch some of the live performances so you can see who is doing what. You might start with how many more times the Danmark Radio recording - this was their first performances and you can see exactly who is doing what. you will be able to seperate out the instruments. similarly from1975 the earls court performance of going to california and thats the way you can see jpj playing mandolin with bass pedals in front of his feet and jimmy page on guitar. Try one of the blues songs from royal Albert Hall - i can't quit you baby - you will be able to see how the four play of each other. I know moby dick wasn't your favourite but if you take the time to watch the live version , even if you don't react to it, that is the best way to understand John Bonham's drumming techniques. Once you have got hold of the individual instruments from watching live performances you will be able to pick them out on the recorded versions. John Paul jones is also key to the composition process especially on tracks where the organ or key board are at the forefront including no quarter. keep going plenty more outstanding music to come.
In my early zeppelin days, like 30 years ago, No Quarter was a song that I didn't skip but I didn't care too much for it. But every year that's gone by since I love it more and more. My alltime fav track is still For Your Life but No Quarter is damn close.
Great song, enjoyed your reaction. You might really enjoy watching a live version, perhaps from their 1975 Earl's Court concert. Lots of improv from Jones and Page, which doubled the length of the song. 🔥
here's the one time you hear a jazz style piano on a zep tune even one of the guitars playing along with the piano part has a Jazz style .....and yes there are many guitar parts at once which Ilike absolutely this music is int that category of the music that changed my life ......allright Brother Man
I can't decide if 'No Quarter' is my favourite Led Zeppelin song or 'The Wanton Song' or.....'Good Times Bad Times'. I can't choose. I shouldn't have to goddamnit! Why?! Why are they so fucking GOOOOOD!?!?
If any song is described as "A Vibe?" This one is the definition of one. You literally feel the cold and wind on your face as you listen to this epic song. And your Audio is completely on point, sounds great! Keep going down the Zeppelin rabbit ole bro. It is an amazingly addictive trip.
Great reaction to a group with so many different sounds. The sound during the song was fine but very quiet while you spoke. Great to see you discovering and enjoying great music. Stay cool, I hear it's been very hot. Unlike here, in the 60's ! All the best to you and yours.
Audio sounds great. This has always been one of my favorite Zeppelin pieces. It is soooo moody that I have to be in the right mood to listen to it but everything about it ... JPJ on keys setting the overall mood, Jimmy on the various guitar parts (I think of the main riff as one of the greatest rock guitar riffs), Bonzo's work on drums, and Plant's lyrics (so dramatic and interesting). Regarding Jones, he never received sufficient credit for his contribution from media. He plays everything and always with great feeling. You'll hear him most often on bass (his bass work is what got me listening to bass guitar), keys, mandolin. I'm not sure he played electric guitar on anything so I think it is safe to assume all electric guitar parts are Jimmy Page. Acoustic guitar is usually Jimmy, too, though I think Jones and Plant occasionally played acoustic. Harmonica is Plant (amazing skills on harmonica. Always wished he played more.).
Hello JMBOY, For this song John Paul Jones plays the electric piano (normally FENDER RHODES PIANO) and also the classical piano, he plays the basses with a foot keyboard. Although the most discreet of the band, the least eccentric, he has a great musical culture in terms of orchestral arrangements, in addition he is a multi-instrumentalist.
Your voice seemed slightly muffled and lower volume than before. I believe this is the 7th song and it's the next to last song on this album. That was a good analogy comparing it to Pink Floyd Echos. Led Zep is so versatile. Thanks for acknowledging John Paul Jones as he gave this song the psychedelic vibe. The Ocean is the last song and it's back to pure rock and is a toe tapper. Looking forward to the next 2 albums by LZ.
Fucking hell the drums though. Grace notes all over. Bonham swinging slow & steady. Also - one of the few songs where he's playing actual sixteenths on the high-hats.
John Paul Jones Aka Jonsey plays Bass guitar and keyboards on all zeppelin songs Jimmy Page plays all guitars and rubber plant vocals in harmonica on all zeppelin songs! And Jimmy Page will layer more than one guitars and string instruments on studio recording's
Do you want your mind blown? React to the live version from The Song Remains the Same original soundtrack. I cannot stress original enough here. It was remastered and messed with a few times. Get ahold of the original soundtrack, have a seat, sit back and enjoy. Every Zep fan who reads this will completely agree with me.
This sounds great. Jimmy Page layered shit, so usually one overdub depending on the song. You're right about the transcendence, it's hypnotic and takes you on a journey you don't have to be high. They were heavy.
OK...if you haven't reacted to it yet..Chicago - "25 or 6 to 4"...live version, Procol Harum..."Skip the light Fandango"...live version from 2006, maybe throw in anything from "The Carpenters". But must be the live versions.
They were incapable of making bad music. Now you have heard studio so you must react to this live from Madison Square Garden 1973. Bad year for cars but great for musicianship.
love No Quarter!!! Live they extend the middle instrumental sections - and it transformed over the years - if you are interested - for your personal enjoyment - not a reaction - here's a compilation of the middle sections from 1975 concerts - fabulous. ruclips.net/video/9ueIN9qFXQs/видео.html I see you did Aerosmith's Train Kept A Rollin - check out Led Zeppelin's version from 1969 -ruclips.net/video/7q8sDWST3Sc/видео.html Thanks for the reaction. ☮
This ain’t underrated...true Zep fans love it! The GOATS! 😎🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
This is a masterpiece, up there with Stairway to Heaven. The keyboards and guitar are so hypnotic that you don't want it to end
John Paul Jones plays all the keyboards with Zep as well as bass player. He is all over this track. Jimmy Page plays all the guitar parts on everything they do
Amazing musician!

There were only the four of them...this is JPJ’s Tune! His keys were masterful!
I always loved this song!!! " Snow drives back the foot that's slow, dogs 🐕 of doom that howl and moan😅"
“The dogs of doom are howlin more”
The live MSG 1973 No Quarter is an extended version that excels!
John Paul Jones plays organ, bass, and piano on this one. Yes, Jimmy Page also layers his guitars on many songs which makes it interesting to watch the live versions to see which part he plays where. You're sounding good! 🙂
My favorite by them.
Whoo, I just had a flashback to my 1970s kitchen, hearing this album from the living room while cooking💫 Wot?!
One of my all time favorite riffs by Jimmy page.
No Quarter Means No Mercy
One of those great Zeppelin studio tracks that becomes an other-worldly awesome track at live shows. Ty!
DEFINITELY a ZEPPELIN Hidden Gem! 🎶 The Slow Verse Build up. Then you get Hit by the Drum Laiden Chorus! GOOSE BUMPS!! ☃️
Great song. The live version from The Song Remains The Same is on another level.
I love all led zeppelin but this one is so beautiful done and takes me to another world as does Battle of Evermore another must check out studio version first.❤❤❤

If you like this song, TOOL does an AMAZING cover you need to check out!
Epic. Masterpiece. Killer. Fire. Awesome.

Not the typical Zeppelin tune, but is there such a thing? All their songs can be seen as individual masterpieces. That's why they are who they are.

Hi J, enjoy your reaction to this haunting, mysterious, & brilliant gem...truly, there's no other band like Zep...keep up the great work...
That main guitar rift is insane
This song for sure is one of my favorites from the GOATS. thx bro for your videos man. RIP JOHN BONHAM
I've listened to this on repeat because of the journey it takes you on.
Great song, enjoyed your reaction. You might really enjoy watching a live version, perhaps from their 1975 Earl's Court concert. Lots of improv from Jones and Page, which doubled the length of the song. 🔥
Sounds good, looks great too.

Only one word for this song.... Heavy...
Definitely check out a live version of this one!

Thanks for the thoughtful and respectful reaction!
Jimmy also plays the Theramin and in some songs JPJ plays banjo or mandolin. But on The Battle Of Evermore Jimmy played the mandolin!
Great song!
Looks good, sounds good!
Speaking of tracks that take you on a trip through the universe,, Black Sabbath "Planet Caravan"...TRUST ME!!
Kick Ass tune!
Great review, awesome song, you do a great job on your channel!
❤❤❤a Masterpiece ❤❤❤😊
Your setup looks frigging great, it also makes you stand out more in better lighting.
Hi man- greetings from Canada. Your sound is excellent. As was your reaction... well done you. Peace, love and bellbottoms.
Great reaction
You never really know what you're going to get with Zep, except that I'll be mind blowing. Every member is a prodigy in their own right.
this is the one. TY

Seatbelt ON!
Great reaction!!
Love It!
Check out the live version man. It's awesome.
React to Fool In The Rain, another great song of Led Zepp and epic groove of Bonzo.
One of my favs of LZ. Listened to it many times when the album came out. Tool does a great cover on it.
Your voice seemed slightly muffled and lower volume than before. I believe this is the 7th song and it's the next to last song on this album. That was a good analogy comparing it to Pink Floyd Echos. 5th album House's Of The Holy...amazing album
Fucking hell the drums though. Grace notes all over. Bonham swinging slow & steady.
Also - one of the few songs where he's playing actual sixteenths on the high-hats.
Hey, as far as I can tell, your mic sounded just fine
John Paul Jones Aka Jonsey plays Bass guitar and keyboards on all zeppelin songs Jimmy Page plays all guitars and rubber plant vocals in harmonica on all zeppelin songs! And Jimmy Page will layer more than one guitars and string instruments on studio recording's
Newbe here. Oh, you're doing Zeps catalog? SUB SCRIBED!!!!!!
Their should be T-shirt for Zeppelin......... "and then Bonzo comes in " :)
Even Tupac sampled there music both legends
JpJ is the silent assassin
your audio is great.
John Bonham. A beast!!!!!!!!
Please try “So Like Candy” by Elvis Costello. 😎

Me and my wife saw it live in Houston with the aliens

Maybe their best song ??????????? Studio or Live for that matter.
You should check out Tool's cover of this song.
Well your mic. needs some volume compares to the one you had before.
By the way who was the guy in the window behind you? 😮
I prefer the live version of this song from "The Song Remains The Same."
JPJ=MVP
Anything that isn't drums, vocals or lead guitar - it's John Paul Jones (bass, keyboards, mandolin and more).
Actually, harmonica is Plant.
Sound/tone is slightly low for your voice compared to previous. Volume just a tiny bit low for your channel. Close to perfect. Good job
No Zeppelin fan underrates this song.
You like the drumming but your surprised by the guitar and vocals.😂
I mean
Music volume is good but your mic is low, brother
Your audio is pretty fuckin' good man. I think you fixed it.
