    Hi,

    Keep up the good work Andy!
    Have you seen Toyota’s disgusting new add about their hybrids not needing a cord, and “self charging”?( I’d heard about it but just saw it on Tv for the first time.) That will confuse many people.
    Yeah right, self charging by running the petrol engine! Toyota has lost the plot. Poor form Mr Toyota!
    (I test drove the Prius, PriusC, and hybrid Camry last year before buying the PHEV, couldn’t see the point of buying a car which couldn’t even drive a kilometre or so to our local shops without starting the ICE.)

    Hi Andy...
    Long time no comment...I notice you still have the AVAS enabled and you mentioned on the previous video
    that you'd like to disable it....easy:
    Remove the glove box and the small panel below, you'll need a torch and look up to the left, there
    will be a control box with quite a few wires coming out (pretty sure its a white connector), just unplug and
    tuck to the side...no more AVAS YAY !!!
    Mines been disconnected for 9 months or so now...saves pushing the button to turn it off every time !!!
    Andy :)

      Andy Where have you been? Missed you buddy. I think you told me before how to do that.
      I'll feature you in the video when I get the 'surgery' done 😉

      LOL This crazy little thing called "work" keeping me on my toes....must be time for a holiday !
      I hope you can get your battery management sorted out soon...seems like it stems from an
      update you had from way back ...I'm a computer tech and if its anything like Windows updates which
      break more things than they fix I can equate to that, I don't think mine had had this update, and estimate I have
      only had a very minor reduction in range in the year I've had it.
      Keep well mate !
      Andy :~)

    hi Andy just watched this in Prague, and its been 42 c today , i drove right through your home town but had no time to stop. so far i have driven 1400 miles, im getting about 45 mpg , bit finding it very hard to get any charges, think only had 2 in 1400 miles, Poland had no where and its been difficult in fact almost impossible, i am off to the black forest on Saturday , around 350 miles from here, but the car is in the underground car park till then with no charging point, hope all is well with you .kind regards. Richard

      Thanks for the update Richard. Are you using the PlugShare app on your mobile phone? Heaps of chargers everywhere. I would just direct my route along some chargers and stop where they are available.
      Have fun in the Black Forest and enjoy the cake ;)

    I accelerate slowly and smoothly whether people are behind me or not.
    If they offer to pay my electricity bills I'll drive faster, but until then I drive to maximize power conservation.

    Hi Andy, did you mention the regeneration when breaking in different B-Modes? I saw that the regen.-needle show more blue, when i put the car in B5 while breaking. I am afraid that the regeneration is less in B0. But i have the feeling that i can "coast" much more in B0 and be more effectiv. I drive also about 80% in B0.
    Sometimes my gasometer rises one or two km when decelerating on highway in B5.
    Did you think breaking in B0 (more friction break?!) is different than breaking in B5 (more regenerate?!)?

    • @unpluggedEV
      @unpluggedEV  6 лет назад

      Even in B0 and pressing the brake gently won't use any friction brakes. You can see the power meter going into the blue if it does not go any further while applying brake power, most likely it uses friction brakes in this moment. I've heard the regen is a bit less driving in B0 instead of B5 but haven't tested this yet.

    Hello! Stefan from Sweden. I dont understand why you dont benefit from lower speed in save mode. System holding a specific soc. If it doesnt need charge you should save gas in slower speed. Charge mode though. Thats a different story. Maybe it was in charge mode??

    Hi Andi, when i Drive faster then 65 km/h 32% SoC ist the minimum the ICE kicks in. Unter 65 km/h 22% SoC ist the minimum

    • @unpluggedEV
      @unpluggedEV  6 лет назад

      This is not a general rule, it only works like this for your personal driving style, environment and situation. I can drive 40km/h and the ICE kicks in at 30%SOC. It all depends...

    Hi Andy, i first wonder about the automatic mode of the PHEV. Start the car and drive means to use first the batterie, if it is down to 30%, then the engine kicks in.
    Normaly i push the button "charge" when i drive >45 km and i am faster than 70 km/h and the batterie is

    A little Felt washer pushed in the space will do the job to stop that rattle

      That's a better idea than the toothpick solution, but you had more time to think about it too 😊

      How about even a small black O-Ring, that way its a bit smaller and blends in with the rest of the dash ! :)

    Hey Andy, just charged my Outlander it is saying it's got 46 mile range or 74km. You ever had this???

    • @unpluggedEV
      @unpluggedEV  6 лет назад +1

      71km was my highest. It will drop quickly once you start driving. It's the GOM ;)

    • @davidmairdm80
      @davidmairdm80 6 лет назад

      When i drive down from a hill Kühtai 2000meters to 600meter ist Shows after recharging 80km ~ 50miles. The GOM calculate the range from the last 90 minutes
