    How to Master in Logic Pro X - With Stock Plugins.
    How can I master my project. This is one of the questions i see asked all the time. The best answer is a convoluted affaire that ive covered before.
    But how can i master my track with stock plugins.
    It's an issue all the same.
    I get it,
    No budget or simply your doing music as a hobby or are new to it all in all but you want to put out the best sounding thing you possible can. Spending £££ on plugins doesn't appeal to you after you spent money on this software, computer, audio interface etc already. So why not get the best out of Logic you possibly can? Im going to show you How to Master in Logic Pro X and using stock plugins.
    Well look it starts with getting that track the ABSOLUTE best you can before you take it away to "Master" With the information in the mastering tutorial you can hopefully very easily tweak that last little bit of sound out of the track to polish it off from streaming at about 3kBps on soundcloud....
    I jest but serisouly soundcloud needs to fix its shhhhh
    Also i know there's a whole bunch of things i didn't address, Stereo width for one. Quite simply the video was long already and its a minor factor that can be assessed in the mix if need be. Check out my How to use Binaural pan video for example.
    If you need to see something additional covered, comment below. But here im going to show you mastering drum and bass in logic pro x for my next album.

    New to the channel. Kudos on the well explained tutorials that are not overly complicated, but not too simple as to insult intelligence. Keep up the good work, you earned a sub.

    Great video. You really didn't do too much to the track at all, very minimalistic which to me is the best way to go about things.
    One thing i wish you did was show where the track that you were referencing hits on the multi meter compared the the track you were working on. If they were close then great work because you brought that reference down 9 abs!!

    • @Unders
      @Unders  5 лет назад +1

      Glad it was helpful. You’re are right an there’s a couple of other little things to but time wise it was running long

      @@Unders Fair enough, well was your mix from this video hitting the same with your reference as far as lufs and rms? I am just generally curious

    • @Unders
      @Unders  5 лет назад +1

      It would have needed limiting a few dB however for modern streaming LUFS it would be fine.

    • @sevenraxx
      @sevenraxx 5 лет назад

      @@Unders but you had enough headroom to make that adjustment if needed? and would you have added a second limiter or just added more db on the one you were using?

    • @Unders
      @Unders  5 лет назад

      @@sevenraxx it would have been a hard limiter instead of the compressor. set to true prak mode (which logic's own limiter has) but only if needed.

    There's a stock match eq that helps save time here.

    • @Unders
      @Unders  4 года назад +3

      There is. But I’ve found it to take longer than just using the EQ as I spend time fixing the captures curve (with this said I use ProQ which is fantastically better for the job.)

    At the end you mentioned bouncing out the master at 16 bit, but why? I probably missed something earlier on, but we been working in 24 bit all through; little confused

    • @Unders
      @Unders  5 лет назад +2

      CD takes 16bit 44.1khz
      Also many distributors will prefer that file type for conversion to their stores.

    Shouldn't you use a linear phase eq instead of a channel eq? Channel EQs muddy up the frequencies a bit when you're mastering...

    • @Unders
      @Unders  5 лет назад

      Only if there’s a discrepancy between left and right and either is EQ independent of the other.
