- Hank Williams Sr - Blue Eyes Crying in the Rain
The Unreleased Recordings Disc 1
Country 2008
Most people think Blue Eyes Crying in the Rain as a Willie Nelson song ; but i t was written by Hank's producer and music publisher, Fred Rose. Cowboy yodeler Elton Britt was the first to release it, in 1946, and Rose's partner in Acuff-Rose, Roy Acuff, recorded it, as did many others.
One of those versions lodged in Willie Nelson's memory. Rose had been dead twenty years when Willie took the song to the top of the country charts in 1975. Hank brings an astringent edge to Rose's sentimentaly.
only 35 and id much rather listen to hank than rap or some of this new country out.
🙌
32. Raised on hank and all the good stuff. I could fart better shit than what's on country radio these days. It's pathetic and embarrassing.
Only 15 and I love older country like Hank, Willie and Cash.
There is nothing better than this.
Hank I believed talked directly to God
Amazing gives me chills ❤
The sky brightened with another shining star that January night in 1953 when the Earth lost a beautiful voice.
music is timeless friend...
Hank williams sr. is regarded as one of the most influential american singers/songwriters of the 20th century.he marked his legacy in the 40's & 50's with smash hits like "Love Sick Blues... ♥
@TheConfederate96 I agree with you: I'm only 16 but I love hank williams :)
26 now...
This song kills me, yet Hank's great singing always brings me back to it.
Without a doubt, the greatest singer of country music, who has ever lived.It`s wonderful to know that youngsters of today appreciate real music, real country music.
he is indeed the biggest poet in country music scene, ever !
True, but he didn't write this. Fred Rose did.
One of Hank's great songs
The greatest singer of country music, who has ever lived.
virgilgray too bad he died so young
Ya' got that right, my friend. Gosh, how I loved Hank's cover of this song. Ever hear of Ramblin' Jack Elliott. He nailed this song as well.
After the possum
THE GOAT
Amazing
Absolutely 100 percent yes sir mr hank Williams sr
I just listened to this, and man is it a tough song. If anyone can relate to the lyrics, I am sorry.
Hanks version is the best.
He was the best. His voice tells his sadness. I agree the best version, and sings the entire song as well.
If Hank were alive today he'd be celebrating his 90th Birthday in September. Who knows how many more classic songs he would have written? Would he have released duets with 50s - 70s country favorites? What would he have thought of Rock n Roll? Would he agree with Hank III about the weakness of pop-country? We know that he would have been featured on Johnny Cash's show. I'll bet they might have even been friends. We also know that he & Billie Jean would have had some beautiful kids.
agree and I'm only 60
AMEN to that!
I think Hank needed a hug. He was so sad all the time.
yes hank, go on son
@TheConfederate96 I'm 15 and I feel exactly the same :)
