My dad took his own life when I was six. My Uncle, who was only 14, stepped up where no other man in my family did. He was there for me no matter what. He brought me out of my shell as a shy 15 yr old, he encouraged me to get to college and do the one thing I loved, bought me my first beer, took me to my first concert, got me my first job and took me on my first lads holiday. My Uncle Craig loved his music and always dedicated this song to my Dad. He was the only person that ever talked about him fondly. Most don't even mention my Dad's name. Craig did. He was a great man, with a huge heart and beautiful soul. He died two weeks ago quite suddenly and I am heartbroken. But I would not be half the man I am today without Craig. I probably would be living a shit life without his love, protection and teachings. And here I am living a great life with my beautiful wife and daughters. I'm having a rough day today but the emotion and love in this song helps. Until we meet up yonder. Rest in Peace.

I bet for a man, we'd all go back and spend more time w/ mom. But I'm sure no amount of effort or time would be enough. Unconditional love changes you. It leaves us all feeling like we wish we did more and I think that's beautiful.

My husband was so beautiful when he passed away his Beautiful blue eyes were wide Open and I kissed him and said to him "You have he most beautiful blue eyes I ever saw." So beautiful-- I miss him!
Listened to his song as soon as I heard my dad died. One of my sweetest memories is my father singing his song when I was a child, telling me about how beautiful it is... And it really is an amazing song, forever with a place in my memory and my heart.
Me to. My fondest memories are of my parents both singing these timeless songs to us while we were all together doing our chores, driving... My heart longs for them and those moments again.
I grew up listening to my Mama & Daddy sing this song & I'd sing along. He went to heaven in 2006 & my beautiful little Mama joined him in August 2021. My heart is broken but I know they are praising Jesus & reuniting with each other & our loved ones. I look forward to seeing them again & Jesus! 🙏🏻✝️🕯️🕯️
I discovered this beautiful song through its cover by Alain Bashung, a famous French singer. Have a go at that one, it moves to tears each and every time... love the slide guitar in it.
This was my Dad’s favorite song, it was played at his funeral. My love for country music comes from him, I miss him every day. My dad played guitar and sang in a band, I appreciate music because of him.
My alcoholic dad threw me out in rural Mississippi back in '78 & there was a local Lyric Theater that I found work at. I would clean it up after the movies were over. My boss would have a tape of Willie Nelson playing as I worked & this song was on it. I loved it the first time I heard it. Now, I listen to it & see myself sleeping in the film booth on a pallet on the floor of that place. Cold, hungry, but free from abuse. I got to see the newest movies, had shelter at night & discovered the music I would cherish & listen to for the rest of my life. I'm 60 & just listened to it for the millionth time.
I’m 36 now but when I was 4 I went to Disney land Florida with my sister for her last wish , before her death of brain tumour my dad got on stage and sang Willie Nelson songs for my sister , even though I was four I remember it like it was yesterday ! Amazing how a song can trigger a memory especially all them years ago
I used to bring the guitar out and sing this one to my grandmother Dorothy. It was her favorite song, I cry when I hear it now. Rest In Peace, my beautiful grandma Dot & thank you for everything, Willie. Always
Heard it during work. Couldn't help but cry. Reminded me of Mom2 ,Joan. The minute she saw my family's stupid way of treating me . Right there she declared herself my Mom2. R.I.P Mom2!!! Miss you, love you. Until we meet again. ❤
This song has special meaning for me today. These blue eyes have cried over one of my sons in 1994; they cried again over my wife in 2013; again, over another son in July 2023, and most recently, another son just a few hours ago today. It never gets easier. The consolation is that we'll have a grand reunion someday. I grieve, but not as one who has no hope. Jesus is Lord.
I’m so sorry for the loss of your loved ones. You have endured so much. You have gone through these difficult times for reasons only the good Lord knows. He has a plan for all of us. My Mom loved this song. She just passed away on October 17, 2023 she had previously requested Blue eyes crying in the rain, to be played at her funeral, as it was played. 💔
My dad used to sing this song. We would sit on the porch and sing during thunderstorms. Tonight it was raining and I was thinking of him and started crying... my eyes are blue, too. 😢
Lost my whole family in a terrible accident today. This was every single one of theirs favorite song. I will sing it at the funeral. They all had blue eyes.
This is my favourite version of this song for two reasons. Willie's heartfelt singing and that unique, strident yet soulful notes he produces from Trigger which is such a big part of Willie's music.
I've been playing for 3 yrs now, My dad used to play this song when I was a kid, he played it note for note.. I think about this song when I look back at last year sleeping on the grass after moving to Texas with nothing not knowing anyone. With blue eyes crying in the rain I found God on that corner. And I found my home that day in Livingston Texas when I had no place to call my home.

This is the last song my husband and I danced to a few days before we divorced. We loved each other, but we couldn't make it work. He passed away several years ago. Neither one of us ever remarried. Thanks for the good memories, Bill. 💙
My first husband was an Iranian Jew. He was the only Persian of Azerbaijani ethnicity I ever met who could hang out in Texas kicker bars in the 70's and 80's due to "the hostage crisis" caused by Ayatollah Khomeini. Andrew would sing this song to my Mom in her Austin, Texas kitchen. He loved her chili, her cooking in general. Andrew loved my mother so much she became his Mom in America. From this, he persuaded her to give me to him in arranged, Jewish marriage. This man had a unique, healing effect on my family, both collectively and each member individually. Each and every one of us loved him with a devoted level of admiration. He and several members of his family had worked for Shah and Shabanu up until time of exile to United States. Andy loved America and God with his entire being. He used to tell us things in combination with the western music he loved to sing with his thick, Persian accent. Some of it sounded as if he was giving us faith instructions before some kind of mysterious departure. His version of this song sounded like, "Blue eyes eh-cryeen' in dee rhain..." This made my momma laugh and laugh. Andy died a martyr in DeKalb, Georgia in February of 1995. Much like things he alluded to when talking to us. It was as if he had been trying to prepare us all along... We never got over his passing. None of us. His love and his music was a treasure to me and my entire family. Willie Nelson gave the world a small piece of art with this song.
I’m sorry for your loss…….I’ve had many Persian friends and they are some of the warmest people I have ever known. Never paint a people with a broad brush……..
A shout out to all the grandparents out there that guaranteed this song live on through us younger folk. This is and will always be a timeless song, one that i will burn into the brains of my grandchildren as my grampa did unto me.........a song of epic proportions.
In my humble opinion, our music was the best and still can’t be beat hands down. It seems every week we are loosing our band members, song writers and musicians. Thank you for years of beautiful music 👏
My Grandfathers favorite song. Poor old country guy. Taught himself to play piano by ear. I remember him playing and singing this every night before bed.
I am a widower retired soldier that fought in Iraq I am a. government employee and a man but Willie I have loved you since my late wife introduced you to me and she and I saw you on six different occasions (concerts). That's all I want to say. Thank you Willie, Jimbo Vail
When I first heard "Blue Eyes Crying In The Rain" I was 6 a laddy of years old; the tune effected me emotionally;causing a pleasant feeling emanating from the pit of my stomach to fill my whole being with a soothing calm. When concerned or tense I would hum or sing that song to calm me down and think rationally still to this day at the age of 84 years.I thank the composer.
I never knew my bio father. My step-father adopted me - he loved Willie. My step father was so mean, and he raised me with fear, not love. He was not a good man in any sense of the word. He died 2 years ago, and when I hear this song I cry - not because I mourn losing him - I cry for missing what was never there, and what should not have been.
I saw him a few months ago and it was a great show. 83 and still doing concerts, playing LEAD guitar the WHOLE show, didn't sit down once...he's amazing. I love that guy.

My beloved dad used to sing dis song and after he passed I somehow came across this song and suddenly dis flashback of dads sweet face and it brought to tears😭
My Dad loved to sing this song to my Mother... It was perfect for them, because that is the way he felt about her and she had blue eyes... For the 50 some years they were married... I love you Daddy and Mother.. May you RIP... Until we meet up yonder...

You should have come here 20 years ago. We're in Saskatoon Saskatchewan... You're our poet. When the sun rises in the West and I don't want to do anything except hear you singing 'Seven Spanish Angels' with Ray Charles. What are we going to do when Willie Nelson is too famous to come to all the small cities and towns... God bless you Willie Nelson. Thank you for the music. We'll send you the song back to you "Rye Whiskey" by Michael Martin Murphy and we are down on bended knee thanking you for all the poetry you've given me... God bless you Willie. There's 30% of the hillbillies in our province that are still drinking a glass down and celebrating your music in Cudworth, Wakaw, Middle Lake, Humbolt, and Lake Lenore. We're celebrating your poetry.... God bless on bended knee, Willie Nelson, we pray to thee... Please come both Poncho and Lefty.
Watching willie plow the field made me cry. knowing what hard ships people before us had and how we dont respect the past or who made it easy for us......
When I fitst heard "Blue Eyes Crying In The Rain" I was a lad of 6 years and something about the tune stirred me emotionally;it caused a pleasant and soothing feeling emanating from the pit of my stomach and seemed to flow through my whole body.I just could not understand, since then I would hum the tune when feeling tense or worried and it would have a soothing effect on me to this day at the age of 84 years.
I've read the sad comments about people losing their children or other loved ones and they loved that song. Although my dad always jokingly said that Willie Nelson's voice sounded like cats in heat, dad always had a twinkle in his eye listening to his music anyway. God bless those in these comments who have lost their loved ones xox
Nobody can sing Blue Eyes Crying In The Rain (written by Fred Rose) like Willie! Oh, this is such a beautiful tune. Fabulous post and wonderful video. Thanks.

We are listening! Throughout the ages. Maybe not this round but, I loved to meet you all someday. If you listen here, you listen well. Gods speed to you all.
This was the last song my Mom and I sang together on her dying bed. We sang it note for note and I imagine she used all her energy to sing along with me. The tears were streaming from my eyes as we finished the song and we both said, "I love you" when I had to leave for the day. That was the last time I heard my Mom's voice... as she passed away from complications from Alzheimer's the following day. I had just lost my Dad two years before that to a very aggressive Metastatic Sarcoma Cancer of the arm. The Mayo Clinic doctors said my Mom passed from Alzheimer's, but I know that since my Mom & Dad were High School Sweethearts and had been married 63 years before we lost my Dad... that she died of a broken heart. I write this as today would have been my Mom's 84th Birthday... the first Birthday I must spend without her. And all day today, my blue eyes will be crying in the rain... 😢
@@amie6085 Your words are very kind, Amie... thank you and God Bless you. ✝ You are certainly more than welcome... it remains a very painful time after losing both my Dad and my Mom so suddenly.
My dad's earliest memory was as a toddler being held by his grandmother as she sang this song. When he first heard Willie Nelson sing this on the radio he nearly drove off the highway and wrecked.
Erinnerung: es ist über 40 Jahre her, als ich als Austauschschüler nach Oxford Mississippi kam und dort auf viele Fraternity Brothers (Beta-theta-pi) traf. Es wurden sofort Freundschafen.
Very possibly the #1 best-ever old cowboy ever sang by any human. The ultimate.
Whenever I listen to this song I feel a connection to it. Willie is a legend.
My Dads favorite song,we had played at his funeral, love u dad!!!
Wow!!! Thanks a lot for your lovely and support . Also for taking your precious time to support me in my music career...
Love you Willie! My mama and I never missed seeing you when you came to Dallas and Fort Worth in the 70’s and 80’s ❤
❤️Dad
A shout out to all the grandparents out there that guaranteed this song live on through us younger folk. This is and will always be a timeless song, one that i will burn into the brains of my grandchildren as my grampa did unto me.........a song of epic proportions.
This song is burned into my soul. Unfortunately theres no way I can ever rock blue eyes but I can still rock the song.
In my humble opinion, our music was the best and still can’t be beat hands down. It seems every week we are loosing our band members, song writers and musicians. Thank you for years of beautiful music 👏
Not my Grandparents but my Awesome old dad a proper cockney London Boy with the heart of an old cowboy!!
I'm a widow this song gives me hope that I will walk with the love of my life once again in the heavens hand in hand thanks willy
Wow!!! Thanks a lot for your lovely and support . Also for taking your precious time to support me in my music career...
My Grandfathers favorite song. Poor old country guy. Taught himself to play piano by ear. I remember him playing and singing this every night before bed.
There is so much heart in country music if you just look. Sadly today's "bro country" has sucked out that beauty.
I totally agree with you, whenever I listen to this song; I fell a connection to it.
What are some of your favorite song by Willie Nelson?
THIS MAN IS A LEGEND IN ALL MANNERS OF THE WORD !!!!
The last song Elvis ever sang. He played this on the piano hours before he died😔
Hello there Yvonne nice meeting you here

No one blends country and storytelling like Willie Nelson. His songs are pure Americana
Pay no mind to the negative. This man has brought us so much pleasure with music. Thank you WILLIE NELSON.❤❤❤❤❤
MY HEART IS BROKEN , I AM SO LONELY NOW, AND AM TRYING TO GET THROUGH THIS ONE DAY AT A TIME
My dad's favorite song. We had it sung at his funeral four years ago, three days from now.
@Willie Nelson Thank you for blessing the world with your talent❤
@Willie Nelson going on about 38 years now....
@Willie Nelson that sir, would blow my mind
@Willie Nelson wish this was true..... my daughter says you only have 4 subscribers?? I'll try to see you in Phoenix
The last 2 songs that Elvis played on his piano the day he died were unchained melody and blue eyes crying in the rain.
Elvis is still alive..we shall see him n many others soon. What a celebration!!!💃🇺🇸💃🇺🇸💃🇺🇸💃🇺🇸
❤
Hi 😂🎉
I saw him a few months ago and it was a great show. 83 and still doing concerts, playing LEAD guitar the WHOLE show, didn't sit down once...he's amazing. I love that guy.

My Dad loved to sing this song to my Mother... It was perfect for them, because that is the way he felt about her and she had blue eyes... For the 50 some years they were married... I love you Daddy and Mother.. May you RIP... Until we meet up yonder...

Hello Martha how are you doing!!
I was blessed to see Willy as my first concert, I was just 13 and my parents said come you’ll have fun. Thank god for being brought up by hippies 🙏🏻
Rips your heart out and hands it to you. I Never tire of this tune!!!

GREAT GREAT GREAT WILLIE, THE TRUE WESTERN COUNTRYMAN AND POETIC MUSICIAN!!!!!
Timeless song by a living legend, and America's favorite outlaw..
Willie was my dads favorite. RIP daddy, this song will always remind me of our fishing trip.
Love you always. Ben. Xx
Nobody has ever come close to Willie's version of this song.
+tim henslee Song was written by Fred Rose. First recorded by Roy Acuff. Covered by many other artists. My favorite is Hank Sr. version.
+A Jackson I LOVE hank sr. too. =) I know the history of Fred Rose and his partner but still Willie's is the one that stirs my soul.
Vince Gill does a great version.
He did a great duet with Shania twain
Agreed!
Blue Eyes Crying in the Rain hits differently every time. Willie, your music is eternal. 💔🌧
Oh Lord I miss my family so much. The tears never stop. God bless you all.
Me too! And may God bless you also.
Hello Veronica how are you doing!!
This has to be one of the best love songs ever written
You are so right!💫🍃🌿🎻🌸🎻🌿🍃💫
Hey
Travis Barrett
Yes, agree. so simple and so sweet. One of my favorite all-time songs, especially with Willie singing.

Hello Debra I see happiness all around you, can I please share from it?
From the classic Red Headed Stranger. I've loved this LP since 73 & I wasn't crazy about country music. What an awakening. Thanks Willie.
Hey how are you doing today..?
Nobody can sing Blue Eyes Crying In The Rain (written by Fred Rose) like Willie! Oh, this is such a beautiful tune. Fabulous post and wonderful video. Thanks.
A true Texas hero, thank you Willie for all the great music over the years.
One of my favorite songs - period. You could feel the sorrow of a lost love in every word and every chord. Thank you Willie Nelson.

Hello I see happiness all around you , can I please share from it,
i first started listening to country music and buying country records in the mid 60's but have never found anyone to play guitar like Willie Nelson.
HE COULD MAKE IT TALK
sorry for your loss. your Dad had heart if he loved this song. only ppl with hearts can appreciate willie and his harmony.
This is beautiful. Thank you so much for sharing your pain, and also the love.
So much love to you sir, I aspire to this as a man in a age where this doesn’t exist
🤍
@@amie6085 Your words are very kind, Amie... thank you and God Bless you. ✝ You are certainly more than welcome... it remains a very painful time after losing both my Dad and my Mom so suddenly.

This was my fav grandmas favorite song from Willie Nelson, as I listen to the song I am crying because I miss her so much.
My dad's earliest memory was as a toddler being held by his grandmother as she sang this song. When he first heard Willie Nelson sing this on the radio he nearly drove off the highway and wrecked.
I absolutely love this song.
Willie sure knows how to touch the heart. Great gift he has. Thanks Bro.
My mama's favorite song
Today would be her birthday
Happy Birthday Mama
I Miss you
I Love you❤
This man is a living legend!
Somehow I finally feel what Willie means by " love is like a dying ember".
❤❤❤my father had the most beautiful blue eyes, oh how I miss him
My mom passed away week ago she loved this song I had to pull over to the side of the road crying so munch willi what a beautiful song
