To be fair, the Dark Troopers in the Mandalorian were different from the Dark Troopers in Legends.

Armor weave is about as resistant to lightsabers as butter is to a hot knife.
*Just ask Jango Fett*
jango fett didn't have the armorweave underarmor
Jango needed an armor weave turtleneck.
He was decapitated at the neck, where there was no armor. Same with his wrist
Even if janjo got hit in the any other part where there was actual armor plating he would die, because his armor made durasteel not madolorian iron/besskar last I heard
Well that didn't age well
In the recent series of boba fett, fennec says the armor is mostly like destroyed by the sarlacc pit, but he replies with "not beskar" so jango did have beskar, just it wasn't pure beskar like Din's, which explains the dent in the helmet but even if it was any other mandalorian or heck din against mace, they would have most likely got decapitated because the gaps in they're armor was the weak spots... unless they do use armor weave but again we don't know if it actually works

Yeah, I can see the evolutionary logic behind that one...
Evolution itself has no logic

- Phrick!
If you’re talking about battlefront than the material they can’t cut through is literally everything
You forgot about Kyle Katarn's beard.
Chris Fleig no. you forgot Kyle katarn.
All lightsaber proof materials have been traced back to places that Kyle Katarn once visited.
Chris Fleig I feel like I should know more about this guy. Explain?
He's a legends character who did so many improbable things and had such a stubborn personality that people began to make Chuck Norris jokes, except with Kyle Katarn instead of Chuck Norris.

Kyle Katarn had balls of Mandalorian iron.

i keep forgetting that vibroblades aren't canon... sad times
KotoR was best Star Wars game
They were said to have a cortosis weave, and I think some of them had a small shield that isn't visible along the blade's length.
But I have heard that cortosis weave wasn't actually possible to be made until around the time of the films.
So basically it was an intentional flub/handwave for the sake of game balance in KotOR's case. But I'm not a true expert on lore at all.
@@chillinchum There were cortosis blades and vibroblades. Regular cortosis blades were different. They were just blades made of cortosis while vibroblades were also made with cortotis, but vibrated to fast that they could cut just like a lightsaber.
They are canon, the BX commando droids use them.
They are also in several if the RPGs.
Commando Droids and Republic Commandos had them in Republic Commando, Star Wars The Clone Wars, and Battlefront 2. Just because they were in KOTOR, doesn’t mean it’s not canon though. I wish KOTOR was canon
In Star Wars Episode V, where Vader and Luke were fighting, Luke struck Vader's shoulder. Vader cried out in pain, but it's worth noting that Luke's lightsaber still -bounced off- of Vader's shoulder.
I believe it struck his shoulder pauldron, but I'm not 100% sure.

Are there force-resistance materials ?
No. There are Force-resistant species like the Ysalamiri and the Yuuzhan Vong but no materials either in the Disney universe or the EU are resistant to the Force
What about the droid that Tiin and Windu fought in the dark horse comics "Clone Wars Adventures"? It was a super super battle droid (Yes, the double super was intentional) and they tried to force push it but it wouldn't move.
That B3 had a built-density projector that kept it from falling over, hence why they couldn't force push it. Otherwise the droid was probably made of garden-variety durasteel.
Carbonite Hunter the ysalamiri blocked the force...
Well depending on your strength in the force you could resist people who were weaker unless there were multiple, and this is my personal theory for Canon, if you focus hard enough and channel your power you can block force attacks, like force push
Watching this in 2020 be like “Mandalorian armor” it’s called Besksar!

Fun fact about cortosis armour, it’s very conductive so while it can absorb blaster and lightsaber strikes using something like an electro staff would take out the user, Thrawn used an Electro blaster during the clone wars to take out someone in cortosis armour

[STOLEN COMMENT]
Cortosis is actually also in Jedi Knight 2 Jedi Outcast featuring Kyle Kataran. The Shadowtroopers used the metal in their lightsabers.
Imagine making a Cortosis, Phrik and Beskar polymer, it would be legendary!
An alloy rather. Probably wouldn’t be very good in reality and probably super weak but it’s a cool concept.
What if you were to drop a lightsaber with the blade straight down like in robot chicken
they would turn off
Nathan Nguyen unless they have been modified to stay on after you let go, like if you toss it
no they use the force to keep it on all lightsabers have deadman switches
Nathan Nguyen it would turn off, this was seen in many of Star Wars films.
K then use the force to shove it through the ground intentionally.
The stun baton at the end is probably the most realistic. Lightsabers only penetrate metal due to the heat they generate. They essentially melt through anything they contact. Therefore, the more resistant a metal is to a lightsaber, the harder it will be to melt down the metal and forge it in the first place. Anything that is "lightsaber proof" would actually be heat proof, which means it couldn't be melted down to be forged to begin with. Given that a lightsaber blade is made up of plasma, then something that has an electrical current could potentially disrupt a lightsaber, since plasma is just ionized gas. Although if it's not a strong enough current, then that baton becomes weaker than even lightsaber resistant metals. Looking back on it now, I guess it's all really possible, as long as someone has a hot enough forging method for the stronger metals.
Zaxio 005 Do you even understand physics or science? You do know what light is, correct? I'm guessing not, or you have never studied the light spectrum at all, since you would know how ridiculous it would be to make a "saber" out of light. Hell, a flashlight is a lightsaber in that case. No, lightsabers are called that because George Lucas didn't understand science either (parsecs anyone?) but their actual properties and how they act and react to things are actually the properties of plasma. If good ol' George had understood the difference between light and plasma, he would have called them plasma-sabers instead, but we're stuck with lightsabers.
Zaxio, first of all: They've already confirmed what lightsaber blades are made of. Second of all: No, even if they were laser swords, the name Lightsaber would be extremely inaccurate because a Saber has a CURVED blade.
YiFan Tey I do question your physics knowledge, since I am certain it would be near impossible to slow light down enough to form atoms, let alone have them form molecules also. Light acts as both a particle and a wave, it has some special properties, including a constant speed unless said particle is moving through a special medium, and even then it will only slow the tiniest fraction as it passes through the medium, once out it returns instantly to it's constant speed.. I would like to see the studies you are referencing, if you could link those please.
Considering there's valid ground for the theory that all matter is made of light, I think it's entirely possible that lightsaber blades are actually made of light. Just... so indirectly they may as well not be. And by the logic where you can claim that, lightsaber hilts, and lightsaber users are made of light too.
+blivvy Actually, all matter is made of energy, not light. That is exactly what Einstein taught us with his famous equation: E=MC^2. What that equation means is that Energy is equivilant to Mass going at the speed of light squared. So if you take a ball and somehow accelerate it to the speed of light squared (impossible as far as we know) then that ball will transform into pure energy. Also, if you can somehow slow energy down to the square root of the speed of light, that would become mass.
This channel deserves more love.

Fun fact about Yuzhan Vong armor lightning resistance. In a James Luceno novel lightning from Jacen would arch around Vongs but in following novels it was rerconned, so lightning worked against them.
you forget about vibro-weapons
yeah, but since he mentioned Z-6 riot control baton , he could mention the vibro-weapons.
It had nothing to do with the generators and everything to do with the cortosis weave. Either Carth or Tutorial McRedshirt mentioned that all the blades used in the war had cortosis in them.
I know I'm a little late, but vibro-weapons aren't lightsaber resistant. Every once in a while, you would find one with a cortosis weave (rather than pure cortosis) which would allow a user to block a lightsaber.
Well let's start with the most blatantly obvious one, human flesh according to disney star wars

There is a lightsaber proof material that Palp's lightsaber hilt was made of.
