    Really enjoy watching these introductions to these vintage movie cameras 60+ years old resurrected and suggested to be used again. I've been inspired to buy a few for the collector part of me and for the beauty and marvel of this old technology. Ive tried shooting in a couple but had problems with the wind up operating well with film (needs CLA) when testing out a few of the wind up bolex 8mm cameras I own. I have a battery operated cannon that seems more reliable for my next test with film.

    I haven't seen many Fuji cameras of that age or even cameras with 3 attached lenses. Could it be during this era most cameras were made in Germany or USA?
    Another great shew, a toast of the town documentary!

    I really enjoy watching these movie film camera videos. You guys have inspired me to buy a bunch of Bolex cameras "bad GAS" and shoot Cine 8 or 16mm films. Please keep these kinda shows coming.

    Best scary clown on 8mm that I have ever seen! Hmmm. Might be the only scary clown that I have ever seen on 8mm.... 😃

    I just purchased a "Fujica 8 Zoom Deluxe", all dusty and looks like It was unearthed from some hidden chest or something lol But, it takes 4 batteries that i will try with, after cleaning it up and also, it didn't contain the daylight spool, sadly, so I can look that up on eBay, but if you have this camera, Id love to see a review. It has 3 frame rates, 16 (green), 24 (black), 48 (red). The pressure plate is pulled like your version, but it has a red button to automatically shut it back. Similar buttons are one on either side of the body, near the handle, pressing one (lock) pushes out the one on opposite side, and pressing that one unblocks, the shutter button. Really cool feature.

    Thank you for this, really informative! I’ve recently picked up a yashica T3 8mm. The lens barrels have focus wheels, how are you supposed to know it’s sharp if I can’t see these adjustments via the view finder? Tape measure?

    I've managed to get this lovely camera today and my light meter works! which im very happy about, the lenses are free of fungus and stuff but my viewfinder has some stuff growing in there. Any idea if I can open it to clean it?

    • @FilmPhotographyProject
      @FilmPhotographyProject  2 года назад +1

      Do not. Since what you see in your eyepiece is not going to appear on your shot film, I would just ignore it. Congrats on such a find!

      @@FilmPhotographyProject thanks! Yeah that’s what I thought as well. It’s not that bad to be fair but you can see it in the strong sun. I wonder if I can cure it by burning it down or something with the magnifying glass haha. Not sure I might just leave it as it is and hopefully it will stop growing. I’ll load the film tomorrow and hopefully soon will get some results from the Foma R100

    How many minutes of video do you get from a spool? How do you get it developed? And then how do you watch it? Thanks for your reply.

    • @FilmPhotographyProject
      @FilmPhotographyProject  Год назад +1

      About 4 minutes per roll.
      Develop/Scan: filmphotographystore.com/collections/movie-film/products/develop-scan-service-regular-8mm-film-50-ft-rolls
      Your film is scanned to a HD mp4 (and .mov) file. You watch it on your computer or TV.
      You can also shoot "reversal" film and watch on an old, vintage projector.

    Hey, great video. I just inherited one of these. This might be a daft question but how do you focus the camera?

    • @michaelraso
      @michaelraso Год назад

      The lenses are focus-free. (Min focus length is about 6 feet)

    • @sdwhittle1985
      @sdwhittle1985 Год назад

      @@michaelraso how does that work with depth of field when the aperture is wide open?

    • @FilmPhotographyProject
      @FilmPhotographyProject  Год назад

      When you're wide open, minimum focus will be about 6 feet. At f16 or 22 might be a little closer.

    This was super informative! I just got one and have Kodachrome II A Photoflood light film... does the Fujica 8 t3 have an orange daylight filter I'm not seeing to balance the colour? Do I need to buy filters for all 3 lenses? Any insight would be great!

    • @FilmPhotographyProject
      @FilmPhotographyProject  2 года назад

      Not sure if the Fujica has filters behind the lens. Best suggestion (with modern Cine8 negative film) - shoot with no filter. The color balance is color timed when we scan the film.
