Got the Novablast 2 today, after 7 miles mixed terrain it’s going to be a good easy running shoe for my frequently tired legs Peg 39 feels a little more responsive 👍🏻
It’s been a while because I had to stop watching since I was buying a lot of shoes because of your reviews 🤣 But so cool seeing you nearing 30k subscribers from the 1k when I first joined!
It’s still amazing that you seem to be the only shoe-tuber that’s not sold on the Mach 4, and as your recommendations have done me well in the past, I’ve never bothered with it!
Thanks Ed, great vid as always. On the Peg 38 atm, although a good shoe finding it a bit heavy, but glad to hear that on your review of the Peg 39 that it is lighter and more accommodating for heel strikers 👍
Approaching 450miles on Hoka Mach 4… feel like it is getting to the end of its life. Also like Skechers max road 5 - 125 miles in and going strong. Nova blast 3 looks amazing and hearing it is an ounce lighter…most likely my next daily trainer.
Nostalgia may be the only reason for me to consider the Nike Pegasus 39. My running shoe collection of special use-cases really doesn't need a jack-of-all trades shoe. And when I can't decide, never fails to just slip on the OG Saucony Endorphin Speed. Plus my favorite Nike shoes right now are the Invincible Run FK that I got on sale!
A great Pegasus should do most things well for a reasonable price, looking forward to the 100 mile review to find out what variant of React we have this time... Pottage bonne femme!... also we miss seeing Beast!
What is it about running shoes these days that make them all awful out of the box, but then, as boy bands from the 80s, they kind of get better as they age? Vomero 16 almost got shipped back by me, but now I love them. Same with most my shoes. Never happened in the past.
As always your explanations make me laugh 😂😂 but bang on 👍👍. Yes Hoka outsoles are not very durable. I'm not I big Nike fan but after hearing your comments I'm might just try it out. I'm now 50 so I'm not after a super fast shoe, as I prefer to go long and slow. Longest run being 26, 30 miles. I found my endurance has increased as I've got older. So further with cushion and a little aid for my leg turnover. As always great blog and entertaining
Bought the Puma’s and returned them, shoe is ridiculously long. Shame is for 90 euro it was a great daily shoe. Ended up going for the Novablast 2. I did a 17.5k run yesterday at ~5:00 per km, very easy on the legs. Loving them so far!
Why didn‘t you just get them in a smaller size then if you liked them? Puma is generally about half a size too big regarding the length, have to go down a little.
Good news about the outsole on the 39, my Peg 38 outsole looks like new still hardly any wear and I have done 200 miles at least in it. Just that white back bit does not stay white for long. I hate white running shoes they look like Compo's vest from last of the summer wine after 2 runs.
Puma Velocity Nitro's getting good reviews for a reason it's a excellent shoe. It's way more versatile than the Pegasus which at best gets luke warm reviews. I went a half size down because of the length of the shoe and it fits me perfectly snug but comfortable.
I just brought out my Turbo 2:s from the closet and oh my - they still are very confy about 700 km later. Where the h*ll is the 3 version? I might check out the novablast 3 meanwhile...
The Vomero is a good shoe for wide feet. Not so the Pegasus.. Novablast 2 wide toebox but midfoot a bit narrow.. A few of my HOKA shoes just feel dead after an hour or so...
@@i.p2088 I know :(. I'm from Germany ( sry for that) Nike sells it directly from it's site. Keller Sports too, so this time you should get them in Europe. I don't think I have ever seen a 2E Nike in real. At least I do not remember :)
I feel like I am falling off the air cushion on the pegasus - otherwise I love the shoe. I wish Nike would bring out a version with a wide / flared forefoot - like the Infinity / invisible run
I personally don't like the weight distribution of the velocity nitro 2, too much weight on the central part of the shoes, my knees feel an extra weight compared to other shoes
@@EDDBUD thanks just followed you. BTW I ordered customized pegasus 39 recently. Waiting for the delivery .. Will share my first run Experience in those shoes...
Got the novablast 2 at a bargain 60 earth credits in January. So squishy, it's great for real easy, recovery runs or longer slow runs. Almost no wear on it

Many thanks Alfredo!
Velocity Nitro 2 is the one, awesome trainer!
Thank you Edd. My first run in Peg 39 today. Just soooo much better than the 37 and 38! Thankfully a shoe I can run in this time!
Anything has to be better than the 37 .. awful shoe ..
It’s still amazing that you seem to be the only shoe-tuber that’s not sold on the Mach 4, and as your recommendations have done me well in the past, I’ve never bothered with it!
Mine seemed to go flat and lifeless very quickly!
I agree Bev. The top of the midsole is ok but found the EVA bit went really solid!
100% correct on the Puma, I've a wide foot and even tried a size up and still found the shoebox far to narrow .
Ended up buying the reebok floatride energy 4 and loving it so far .

Yes quite a difference in weight.
Seems like Nike got plenty right in this latest iteration of their popular Pegasus line.
Awesome video, excellent comparison, you really helped me to choose my next shoes.
Many thanks for watching 👍🏼👊
Just ordered 39s ... University Blue £68 Nike Direct... I also loved the Vomero 16s

I found my Mach 4 felt kinda flat pretty quickly, after only about 250-300km! Yes indeed a lighter Novablast is great news!!

The peg 39 and 40 are two of the better versions of recent years.
If I had to pick one it would be Novablast 2, but peg 39 and vomero 16 are nice too. Puma is too narrow for me so I can’t comment on it.

Will include more beast over the summer. She’s like a fine wine. None of the that vin ordinaire

Only a few felt not great out the box. Adidas mainly. Most of the others are fine.

@@runfrankfurt I already bought them a full size down. (42 instead of 43) Unfortunately another half size down wasn't available for the same deal.
2:46 oh man that night club joke had me rolling 😆 🤣
"When ever I'm sad, when ever I'm blue, when ever my troubles are heavy, I'll put on my Nikes and go for a run.......just like Eddie.......
I just got my pegasus 39s and they feel so good
The 39 and 40 hitting the mark where the 37/38 was a big letdown.
Good news about the outsole on the 39, my Peg 38 outsole looks like new still hardly any wear and I have done 200 miles at least in it. Just that white back bit does not stay white for long. I hate white running shoes they look like Compo's vest from last of the summer wine after 2 runs.
It’s been holding up well so far. Yes white shoes stay white for maybe one run at best 👍🏼🤣
LOL looking back after this summer in UK .... Ed's comment a month before summer hit with 38C+ and a good 4-6weeks of 30c+ LOL
That’s warm for us!
Спасибо за сравнение и обзор других кроссовок. Однозначно, мне Nike больше всего нравится, чем остальные производители. 👍😊
Nike are a good brand though some of their shoes recently are a little off the mark in terms of upper design. Thanks for watching
Great comparison and superb selection, relevant, current and in depth.......Just what us mortals deserve from the God of Gels
No not me Edd, easy like Sunday morning please!! Gimme that nice cushy easy bounce any day!!! And the Novablast is like balm to sore legs!!
Is Puma Velocity Nitro 2 good for the gym and regular walking too?
Should be ok for walking. Don’t see why not.
Puma Velocity Nitro's getting good reviews for a reason it's a excellent shoe. It's way more versatile than the Pegasus which at best gets luke warm reviews. I went a half size down because of the length of the shoe and it fits me perfectly snug but comfortable.
Bit tight in the toebox width for some. The 2 is even narrower.
Are you keen to try the Noosa Tri 14 Edd? Seems like a great shoe? Evoride 3 as well.
Not tried either. Need to wear down a few others first
Please review the Nike n354 Air Zoom Type for everyday trainer. it seems to be the MOST COMFORTABLE everyday nike. god bless and great channel!
I'm following heart rate based training, with lots of easy paced runs. What would your recommendation be for the best value easy day shoe?
Energy 4 for value on easy days. Nice and cushioned. No frills.
Hello! which do u recommend on running also for everyday wear like outfit like that, ultra boost 22 or nike pegasus 39?
Pegasus for everyday running
Just like Eddie Bud, by Heinz 57 varieties of running shoes in his studio
How does Velocity Nitro 2 compare to Liberate Nitro?
Much more plush upper and overall more present on foot. Liberate is super light.
Ed have you done a review of the Clifton 8 pal?
No the 7 wasn’t the best at all for me so skipped it.
That’s interesting enough for me. Thanks Ed

Also, nice 1 second troll face insert :) As a northern swede I can relate.
No way - just like Eddie .. by Heinz 1963 .. is played all the time on Little Steven’s Underground Garage on SXM ..
Brilliant song!
Which one shud i go for adios 6 or peg or velocity 2.0 for upto 20 km runs at sub 4:00/km pace
Adios 6 would be my pick. It’s a superb shoe for the money
The Vomero is a good shoe for wide feet. Not so the Pegasus.. Novablast 2 wide toebox but midfoot a bit narrow.. A few of my HOKA shoes just feel dead after an hour or so...
IIRC the peg 39 comes in 2E too
@@OlafKarsten no models of any brand sold in 2E in most of Europe..

The rocketx 2 seems a good step in the right direction.
I feel like I am falling off the air cushion on the pegasus - otherwise I love the shoe. I wish Nike would bring out a version with a wide / flared forefoot - like the Infinity / invisible run
Not sure I felt that at all. I agree on the wide version though there is a wide one now.
I’ll get the Peg 39 at some point. The Mach 4 was nice for a while but durability is crap. The best feature of the Mach 4 is the upper.
May test the new Mach 5 for kicks 👍🏼
I personally don't like the weight distribution of the velocity nitro 2, too much weight on the central part of the shoes, my knees feel an extra weight compared to other shoes
Thanks
Step in p39 but buy Clifton 8
Vomero carrier foam is called SR02
The new zoom fly 5 will also utilize the SR02 carrier foam with a recycled ZoomX core
Vomero all day
You're too generous with Nike I think... 🙂
And I dont even have notifications on!
Excellent effort in this case!
Disappointed Adidas fanboy here 🙋🏻
Covered the Adios 6 in the last one.

Hi
🥇
My Mach 4 feel like a brick after about 300 km so I wouldn't recommend them.
That's terrible durability.
It’s not feeling good after leaving them in the box for a few months!
My Mach4 felt stiff for first 400k, now with 860k I find they get better and better. The outsole looks pretty the same as w. 200k
Really? I have 250 miles on mine and they still feel great
Compare the midsole 😂
Couldn’t resist that one.
Yo
