I love how aggressively rough this thing can be but I understand that's not everyone's cup of tea and I'm just glad KD is working hard to keep their woodies in great shape for the long haul 👏
Fixing the track roughness is fine. I just hope the re-profiling won’t take away the ride forces - lifts, slams, laterals that made this ride so excellent. I love what they did with the Racer but they over-banked everything on the Beast.

Grizzly was my first big coaster, so I’m glad it is staying
Im more upset about the reprofiling. I hate when they do that, it almost always makes the ride worse.
It’s really weird cuz I kinda like how rough it is as well lol. Makes it very intimidating.
What's crazy is how the first drop on Grizzly actually felt like steep drop (Especially in the back row).. So the fact they are increasing it by 10 degrees is AWESOME.
I'm glad The Gravity Group is working on this, they did an amazing job with the Beast at Kings Island and I'm sure they will do an amazing job with Grizzly
The Gravity Group produces such sensational work. I really hope we start to see ground-up attractions from The Gravity Group open up at Cedar Fair parks someday!

Thanks kings dominion for restoring grizzly. Wooden coasters have been being torn down or rmced lately and you guys are restoring one. Can’t wait to see what my freind says about the new ride experience
You have to agree though that these RMC conversions are amazing, and only happening to coasters that actually need it. If RMC was careless and heartless, The Beast would have been RMC'd by now

Wow that's quite the change in the first drop. Sounds amazing. Haven't been to KD yet but Grizzly has definitely been on my bucket list. Glad Cedar Fair are cleaning up another of their older woodies.

First drop looks great. I'm just hoping the turnaround they are reprofiling isn't going to be that much less forceful than before. Reprofiling it to make it smoother is just sweet talk for they made it less forceful 😭

I almost died on this ride back when it had bully bars. I was barely tall enough to ride. My mom held me in. It took years to ride again. I can’t wait to see what’s changed since the 80’s and late 90’s!
Gravity Group has done well with the improvements on Ravine Flyer II. Thought you might go the Titan Track route but excited to see how it rides this year!
More excited to visit Kings Dominion now! Definitely high on the list along with Cedar Point

I remember my first ride on the Grizzly. I will admit, since my first ride and the last time I went, the ride got significantly rougher. It is good that it's not being removed, but refurbished. The coaster was in desperate need of it.
The Gravity Group's work at Kings Island has been phenomenal, so I expect great results for Grizzly as well.

Fascinating -- the horizontal laminates were turned vertical to reduce the vibration created from the otherwise more compliant horizontal wood track bed.

I'm excited by this news! I consider KD to be my home park (although technically I'm closer to SFA), and I've been riding the Grizzly since its inauguration. For some time, it was my favorite in the park, and I'm looking forward to enjoying GG's take on this classic.

Nice! They crushed it with the work on The Beast, so this is likely to be fantastic, and it needed it. This thing was ROUGH at the end of '22.

Restore the Roar at Kings Dominion is exactly what it needs to happen......I like the Grizzly because it's definitely the East Coast's biggest, the baddest, the fastest, the longest & the best roller coaster Kings Dominion has out there....even though I like the Beast at Kings Island so that remains Cincinnati's biggest, the baddest, the longest, the fastest and the best record-breaking roller coaster ever.
Pop out of your seat at 55 degree drop? I'm doubtful you'll get any airtime on that drop
