Such a shame it needs to get thorn down but these guys look like they have a serious knack for this stuff! I could legit see them start their own company or be hired by an existing one! Like imagine them building a small full circuit wooden coaster for a small park, I could legitimately see something like that work!

One company has made several rides that proce this like "Wooden warrior" at Quassy, "Kentucky Flyer" at Kentucky Kingdom, "Bobcat" at Great Escape, "Wood express" at Parc Saint Paul, and "Oscar's Wacky Taxi" at Sesame place. Seriously look up any of those rides in youtube, they're great.
Their dad is in the video and deserves mad respect and props, but is apparently ok with perpetuating the delusion that these teenagers built this ride on their own with no help.
Imagine if 20 years from now enthusiasts were vlogging the opening of "the new BTT wooden coaster" at a large amusement/theme park. Would be super cool to look back on this if they actually made it that far :P

There's so many dumb things you can do or build in your yard that will certainly kill you, but when two kings use serious skill to do something that's a bit too professionally built, the town gets mad. I seriously struggle to find the logic behind it getting banned, nor can I really see that authority being okay in such a situation

Pretty much whenever you build that's affixed to the ground or part of a building you need to submit a plan to the city and get it approved. Then there's the issue of "zoning" in the suburbs.

Permits are needed if you want to contract someone to build for you; if you are doing it yourself, then they should not be necessary. However, it's once you start involving others, such as opening the structure to the public or want to sell, that you need to make sure that the structure is built to code. Most likely its neighbors weaponizing zoning laws.

When someone inevitably moves in half a mile away they're going to claim a noise ordinance violation, and then the rural township you're in is going to rubber stamp the claim because they've got nothing better to do. That's what happened to Area 51 RC out in Mills River. Well, apart from the "judge is the mayor's husband" part.

Im not really fully aware of the situation, but if I had to take a guess, its probably due to either A: The city seeing it as a violation of zoning laws (most american towns have ludicrously strict zoning laws about what can and cannot be built anywhere, even outlawing stuff like a house with 2 homes in it across the vast majority of the USA), or B: Nimbys, aka "Not in my Backyard"ers complaining about its existence, or a combination of both.

It is a sincere shame that this coaster has to be taken down. However these guys should reach out to Knoebels Grove in Pennsylvania. They rescue unique and often doomed rides. Though they would no doubt not be able to use it in its current form they have a very powerful team of engineers who could design and build it up into a small attraction that would add a unique part to their park. I have land myself and would love to host the ride however I almost certain there are bylaws where I live that would prohibit it. But yes please reach out to Knoebels Grove.
Goes to show you how little these towns care about community outreach. Fellow NJ local here, the Middlesex County fair is literally in East Brunswick and its next week. Why can't they install this as a semi-permanent attraction? It could even be an interactive educational tool, let alone a ride. Think of how many different trades and skills were used to create this. It could also be used for STEM students to learn different kinds of physics and math. But nope, the town isnt interested in that, tear it down. I hate the suburbs

Yup, turns out America is not really as free as people think it is. We cant even own land here, you may think you own it, but if you stop paying your taxes (or in this case: build a homemade rollercoaster on it), the real owner will show up and kick you out

I'm as big of a coaster nut as they come and maybe I'm old (37) but I'm sure you can imagine how things could go wrong on this being in a neighborhood with a bunch of teens. I'm actually shocked that it was built without the town/state getting involved, you need permits to build on your property unfortunately but it's the way of the world. If this was out in the hill billies town of east bum fuck I could see it not being an issue but especially New Jersey, there's no way you can leave something like that standing without major insurance liabilities etc. Definitely amazing build though and that kid definitely has some potential!

It's a shame that the town doesn't recognize the spirit of drive and freedom that supposed to be American ideals. I could see this type of regulation if they were charging customers to ride the coaster, but to have it dismantled when it poses no harm to the surrounding community is nuts.

The track and trains is the most impressive part. It looks almost like a straight up regular wooden coaster.
