- As much as I'm trying and as much as I want to, I'm not really enjoying the Modern Warfare in the first day of playtime. I think this game has potential and I hope my opinion changes but today I wanted to share what I like and dislike about the game after Day 1.

That's what happens when you have 3 USABLE LEATHLS
On top of that, the perks that give you explosive resistance AND the perks that let you see the equipment are both locked away for now, but the perk that lets the campers REPLENISH those lethals is available. I've had several games where I died to claymores twice as often as I've died to gunfire.

Top 3 problems:
1.) I get killed by people not looking at me.
2.) Shotguns are inconsistent at close range.
3.) Explosives are OP

Back in the day, people were leaving the lobby from someone calling in a tactical nuke. I'd say the community has gotten weaker over the years, and now they're scared to die a few times while taking down a chopper.

I think this game punishes you for moving. There's parts of the cave map where I can't see anyone at all if they're camping back there. Maybe I dislike this game so much because of how terrible the spawns are at the moment, but as a run and gunner, this game is not at all fun for me. Sitting back waiting for someone to run by isn't my definition of "strategic" gameplay
RhodyRage exactly! I feel the exact same way this game promotes camping tbh and you die too fast aswell. As a run and gunner it’s very difficult trying to adjust to this game

Now the game is out and with these shitty maps giving multiple places to hide behind, even multiple floors, I regret rebuying it after canceling my pre order. Just running in to people hiding. L2 is your best friend now instead of skill
The M13 has a pistol grip thing that gives it a better sprint out to aim time already LIKE SO HE SEES THIS
I saw a similar pistol grip on the MP5 and MP7 as well. It was a weapon level somewhere in the teens. It helps, but even when I was using those I still felt like I was at too much of a disadvantage compared to defensive players.

The complaints on the level cap is dumb, on the 21st or 22nd it goes up up to 30 so just be patient and grateful you atleast get to play the game for an extra week

I got killed last night. Like almost last in every game. I like to run & gun wasn't happening
literally same, i used to smack kids in BO2/BO3 dropping 40-50 kills a game but now i mostly go negative because the maps are fuckin atrocious and i always get flanked or shot from the 7th sightline im always exposed to -_-
@@PhoneticIHype Maybe I'll be good at this one then. I used to have 4.0+ KDs in MW2 and Black Ops 1 and had trouble maintaining a 2.5 for the next few CoDs. Now I fight for like 1.5. I always blamed maps but I might just be trash now, idk.

The TTK is too fast for the map design. Every room or area you enter has dozens of spots/angles someone can shoot you from. Like, I have no idea where to look/can't look everywhere when entering an area because there's so many places someone can be. You have no time to slowly peek around a corner or scan an area before getting melted. You have to immediately see the enemy and shoot at them. Not to mention people blend in to the background very well and are almost invisible in dark areas or in windows. The game is very rng because of this. Camping, running around , doesn't matter. You constantly get killed from somewhere you're not looking.
Every match is convoluted as fuck. There is no flow, you can't tell where enemies might be, where they're coming from, where they're spawning at the moment. Can't control an area. It's garbage. The game is trying to be like battlefield/rainbow 6 while at the same time being a fast paced CoD game and it just doesn't work.
Also, most of the guns aren't worth using. If you use anything other than an smg or an assault rifle, you're fucked. The flinch is way to high on the semi auto rifles, snipers are too slow and heavy and same with the lmg's. Only way to use snipers or semi auto rifles is by sitting in some hallway and aiming down sights for the entire match and if even one bullet hits you, you flinch so bad your aim goes 3 feet up. Shotguns are garbage too unless you're at point blank range. AR's and SMG's kill you so fast up close that they might as well be shotguns themselves. Just fucking lol. Infinity Ward just mashed together a bunch of gameplay designs and mechanics from several different shooters and made this game.

Is it just me or the map is too bright outside and too dark inside. Like when you run into a building the screen is literally black until the lighting normalizes and when you run outside its just fucking white and even when it does normalize ads long range everything is really faded and bright making enemies hard to spot. Everyone tends to sit in one spot and pre aim because trying to immediately lock onto an enemy is almost impossible because visibility is shit. Also the sharpness of everything seems blurred a lot like a camera that constantly is trying to auto focus. Like if you didn’t sit for a little and let a certain line of sight render in on your screen but are moving around everything looks fuzzy like a fucking game from 2006.
I agree. Too many areas to get engaged from, which makes the missing mini map an even bigger issue
This game HEAVILY incentivises camping, not only due to ttk etc but also, as you say, lighting. I haven’t played COD in years, tried this (I’m lvl 20) and have done pretty well the first couple days.. now it’s open to everyone it’s crazy the amount of campers there are, I gave in. I went from a couple of low kill barely 1 k/d games to sitting in one of the larger buildings and got a support helo every game. Just use mp5 and snipe.. sound whore those doors/staircases and lie down in a fuckin corner. It’s stupid that it works so well. I presume it’s always been the case for COD, perhaps many FPS, but damn they need to allow you to fire while attempting to ADS.
Even real life soldiers move more than these campers and they don’t respawn!

My biggest issue is the minimap. When I hear footsteps, I have no clue if they belong to my team mates or an enemy, the time it takes for me to turn to verify whether it's an enemy or a teammate exposes me to an actual enemy.

Have you though about the fact that you can see your teammates outlines through walls so that if you don’t see outlines yet still hear footsteps you know it’s an enemy but since your lazy ass can’t be bothered to look 90 degrees to the left or right you complain about the lack of a mini map in a game that is focusing on realism

I'm fine with the compass the main struggle I've had is not knowing where my team is, thus not knowing which angles their holding. (Or when they don't hold angles and just run and jump around a corner...) but besides that I think it's fine. Most people I've seen dissatisfied aren't disengaging properly.

The reason why the no minimap is a good thing in hardcore is because of the insanely low health. Even if someone was camping around a corner, I can play super aggressively and prefire, and would kill him instantly. Instead, the player with a good shotgun or high ROF SMG they could rip me as I try to enter the room. That is why the minimap is optional in HC once you know the maps. Most of my time in HC is spent not equipping the UAV after a week. I aim for those challenges first to get the most out of them and their EXP while I learn the maps, so I can equip high streaks when I know how people play the maps in HC.

Closest thing I saw was a blue perk that helped with reload speed and healing per kill, but I'd love to see the true cranked return.
Cranked should've been in every game after Ghosts. It's a very fun mode, despite it making camping irrelevant.

@@spacered949 When you kill an enemy, a countdown starts and if the timer hits zero, your character blows up. Getting kills resets the timer, so it motivates people to move around and find players to take down.
Dillon C well it did at first, eventually people realized that they can still camp because everyone else has to run around due to the cranked timer
A really big one that you pointed out for me was enemies being invisible when they're in a building. I've even sometimes gone as far to record the clip, go back and watch it again and even when looking closely I still couldn't see them!
Yeah same here. Recorded it a few times to see if I just lacked awareness, watched it back and was like, nope, no one on earth could've seen that. My only real complaint so far.
Camera angles are really broken too. Enemies can shoot you even when they aren't in your sight line
I'm actually fine with no mini map the uavs are easy enough to get it's really not a big deal for me
Personally I wish they'd do away with UAVs and maps all together. Feel the game plays best when you stumble across enemies rather than getting a heads up on their location.

You’re half-right about the levels.
Your character cannot level up past 10... but you can level up your weapons!
Currently have the M4 at level 30, as well as a few other guns at level 20.
The other attachments unlock as you play more.
Most people have fallen into the trap of max level, and just leave after that.
You actually can level up your weapons, while your character is already at max.

Having no mini map is just something people have to adjust to. The compass isn’t bad. The shadows when people are in buildings are tough and need to be adjusted in their contrast. I also feel that when a UAV is acquired, the picture it shows is wayyy to zoomed in. I’ll have an enemy pop up on my radar, but I have no clue how far he is and I end up getting lit up. Loving the feel of the game so far tho

@@jasondavis3089 No, the minimap shows position and movement, but the compass only shows directions. This enforces camping. Lets say theres a camper and he fires his gun, the mini will let you how close he is and that he is stationary, as on the other hand, the compass just says ' hey is to your left kinda ' , letting him get away with camping. Theres just no comparison.
This is a new call of duty with a new play style. It's not supposed to be exactly the same over and over.

I agree and disagree. I agree because it is a new play style and it isn’t intended to feel the same. I also disagree because the fast run and gun play style is what makes call of duty, call of duty. It’s known for its fast arcade shooter play style that everyone loves, and by taking it away, it almost makes it a completely different game. It almost strips call of duty from its roots

lmao maybe cause i wanted to be a game developer at one point in my life and i know how much it takes to even just be one then to put in so much hard work to make a game especially when your last one didn't get taken well and your team is trying so hard to bring the community together. I'm pretty sure if they could take out loot boxes they would, but guess who publishes this game? Activision. Pretty sure they're the only reason why loot boxes exist, not the actual developer.
Level up your guns. My M13 is a level 30 and it has like 10 sights, 4 perks, and 4 under barrel
yeah each weapon level gets one attachment, so I don’t know what he means by not enough content
Mr. Wolf more like 6 perks 3-4 under barrels 3 barrels 4-6 muzzles 10 optics 2-3 stocks 1 rear grip 2 laser sights I’d also recommend the m13 is almost the exact same but shoots a little faster and I feel like it has less recoil and still a lot of attachments and if you don’t like either of them use the default ghost class it’s pretty good and the only way to get the AUG (No longer the only way to get the AUG the level cap is now 20)
The problem is that most people just stick with using 1 or 2 weapon load outs and just try hard that way. Others who try be skillful and learn using every weapon have to suffer because the majority never try all the weapons for more than 1 multiplayer match.

You can put rubber grip and lightweight stock on M4A1.
I have a rubber grip on my MP7, and Lightweight stock available for the pump shotgun.
Probably my go-to weapon in comp.
Rubber grip is also on sniper, and lightweight stock is on the AK. Is Ace not aware that guns keep on leveling up after the initial six levels? I've also noticed that he isn't using any attachments in his gameplay here.
I think the cap is level thirty in the beta, since the AK stopped leveling up after that point, and I can't get the suppression muzzle or whatever it's called.
I use rubberized grip on my deagle, no stock yet though (lol)

you're complaining about lack of content in this beta but complained about black ops 4 having too much content provided pre-launch. idk it could just be me but i feel a beta should simply be a taste of the game. not something where you can figure everything out pre-launch and have an advantage over everyone when it finally drops.
He explained that he'd be fine with having limited guns as long as the few there is have all attachments available (which allows different playstyles). His problem with bo4 beta was having so many of the maps & guns
I say the issue is that people take CoD games, even in its beta stages so seriously. When you see people grinding max rank in betas instead of having fun, you know there's an issue.
@@ibeam06 If there were 40 ranks in this game instead of 10 (even if there weren't that many weapons to unlock), I guarantee there'd be plenty of people at that rank within the first 3 days. Also if you think there's no such thing as a grind in alphas and betas, then you clearly haven't seen Battlefield 1's beta.

I’ve played cod for so long that i don’t even think it’s possible to not enjoy a new title when it releases but once I play it for around three months the game starts to show it’s true colors which could be horrible or still really fun

I think the biggest thing that I’ve had an issue with is the maps, they have so many sight lines that you need to keep track off and there’s so many cracks and opening to get shot from. Theres a lot of places where one side clearly has an advantage and i think they generally need to clean up sight lines

Imo bo4 is actually better apart from the cancer specialist that ruin that game, this games ttk is instant, flash bangs are op. Grenades are very strong, only 1 map out of 4 is good the gun play is very good, also team mate foot steps are louder than enemy’s and yes no mini map makes it a camp fest just needs tweaking
BO4 isn’t really bad, it’s just kinda boring. At least people don’t hide in corners in that game.

I fully agree with your list Ace! I too love to play aggressively, but i think the lack of a minimap is really annoying, as you can't really determine where your teammates are. It's also difficult to determine the elevation of the enemy with the compass alone and it's a bit difficult at times using your audio in that aspect. Powerpositions is a big problem in the current state and we are lacking an aggressive playstyle apart from the MP5. I'm playing on the "old" PS4 and i had to close my game yesterday due to pressing square and my game being stuck trying to open the PSN profiles D; and let's talk about the extended spawn delay.... and can we just talk about the delayed spawntime and the painfully long deployment time of the cruise missile... 🙄

The cruise missile is pointless! The deployment time is way too long for 1 missile. It would be understandable if it was a hailstorm like BO4, but in its current state, I won't be using it!

I think it's good, the elimination modes like cyber attack are good, the maps are decent, with a few changes, like a minimap gun balancing, things could really improve. We have a potential ww2 situation, where everyone jumps the gun and with a few changes it could be great. Look at how certain cods get judged primarily on core modes. Ww2 was judged on tdm and early sbmm despite the war mode and objective modes being fantastic.

Apparently aiming at enemies and registering shots is an accuracy penalty. I get gunned down regardless.
Bunny hopping should result in a huge penalty. If this ends up like BO4 then I won't be buying it.
The GoldenChild bunny hopping is a tactic that is a staple in CoD. I don’t think people should be able to hop all over but if I can jump, do a 360 and mow you down before you can mow me down, then I want to do that. Players should be rewarded for their reaction and aim, not penalized to cater to idiots that can’t shoot someone in the back/side before they can react

Not sure if this is what you were talking about when you said rubber grip but on the M4A1 you can get the stippled pistol grip which buffs your ADS speed and sprint to fire speed. I believe you unlock it at level 21.

As someone who hasn’t liked a cod since black ops II, I have to say this beta has been by far the most fun I’ve had playing cod in awhile. Every problem I’ve ran into seems like it will he fixed with the full release (mini map fixed already, spawning near enemies, pred missile deploying after already across map)
The slow play and camping will get better, people didn’t have a mini map originally and don’t know the maps well yet. Will be fixed naturally as the game progresses.
The hipfire hitmarkers being significantly bigger throws me off a lot, I don’t see a need for this change...

Ace a lot of the attachments you mentioned are actually in the game, for example I have the rubber grip and the lightweight stock on my M13, that’s the only gun I’ve seen those attachments on...maybe try that out! ALSO!!: dead silence is a field upgrade!! And they don’t show you all the weapon attachments until you get within a few levels of them on your gun so for example: I didn’t know I had a rubber grip for my m4 until I got to lvl 28 for the gun and the attachment was at lvl 31

Tojosaurus Rex I’ve noticed people trying to camp don’t go there or be more strategic almost every room has more than 1 entrance and mounting your gun helps a lot I do it all the time get adjusted to the game slow down your play style and re-think how you have to play because this isn’t BO4 or advanced warfare or IW and thank god it’s not because that all was getting super annoying to have someone run around corners jump 10 feet in the air and shoot you mid-air good luck with that in this game

I’d rather have the bunny hopping and aggressive playstyle than corner campers and headglitchers. CoD is an arcade shooter and isn’t meant to be super realistic. Maybe Infinity Ward can have a more realistic playlist for all the corner campers that think CoD should be a military simulator and then a normal playlist for like over 80% of the community that want to play a game

well camping in my terms is just sitting in a corner and not moving while controlling an area, actually taking movement and actually moving and lookin to see.
Most of the time not even crouched, just standing and jumping out the area.

Did you watch the video? Only the thing with the foregrip attachment was talked about and that was his feedback. Everything else was mostly about the core gameplay of the game

What you are probably experiencing is time to kill and time to die values don't match. This was a problem in battlefield 5 where they had to release a patch to fix it. I'm sure they will fix it within a few patches. Pretty ez fix.

@@ahmedf4523 no I meant exactly what I said. The time to kill someone is not the same as the time to die of the person being killed. You can shoot 4 shots into someone and get a kill in .25 seconds but on the receiving end someone can die in .1 seconds because the damage may be hitting them delayed but faster. It's very important for the time to kill and time to die times to match so we don't have weird moments when you count it taking 4 shots to kill and seemingly dying instantly without any warning of enemy fire.

I’ve noticed over the years that right as the game is new, players tend to stick to assault rifles and the sort of perks that have already been in previous games. It takes time for different playstyles to emerge. I’m willing to be patient with that issue.

I've gotten SprintOut reducing pistol grips and ADSWalkSpeed buffing stocks on the M4, M13 and MP7. They're all somewhere in the mid to high 20s.
But I strongly agree with all of your other criticisms. I enjoyed the Gunfight Alpha so much more than this, and I wasn't even that excited for Gunfight at first.
With the mini map I 100% agree with that I want the mini map to know where your team is and were you are on the map I don't care about the red dots.
Here's the thing. The mini map should show enemies that are shooting unless they're using a silencer. It's pointless to add the mini map without the red dots to show enemies firing their weapons. It also reduces the amount of plebs camping with no way to counter their camping play style other than their having their positions revealed when they shoot.
My game is lagging like crazy and when I watch killcams, the other player’s experience looks smooth....
