  • Join me as I embark on a culinary journey like no other in Chukotka, Russia. Throughout my travels in this vast country, I've sampled a variety of unique dishes, from cucumber jam to blood sausages. However, nothing could prepare me for the culinary surprises awaiting me in Chukotka!
From mantak, a delicacy made from whale skin, to lakhtak, a sea bunny, and the mysterious upa, also known as the sea battery, the names alone pique curiosity. In this video, I'll be diving into these intriguing delicacies, hoping my palate is up for the challenge. Let's satisfy our curiosity and appetites together!

Loved the presentation. And perfectly white table cloth at the end of the world. Interesting contrast.

You've been to Providence Bay? I was born there and lived there until I was 16. Thanks for the video. It's nice to see your native places.

    Hi Tim,
I was a big fan of your travel videos for RTTT, and they were a great resource before I moved to Russia in 2021.
I understand the channel was deleted, and there is a Rumble channel - but it doesn't have all the videos.
Are they available somewhere - or are they gone forever?
    Thanks.

@@TimKirbysTravel Thanks for letting me know.
That's a shame: they really helped me - especially the St Petersburg one, before I moved here - so thanks for that.)
Good to see you're still making them: going to the Caucases this summer, mainly Dagestan, including most of the places in your video.

Well, E for effort. I guess.
You went to a place nobody's ever heard of, ate things nobody's ever eaten or had any idea existed. And you didn't like or had no opinion about most of it.
If you talked to anyone, or saw any sights, or had any other experiences other than that handful of dishes from these peoples' hunter-gatherer primordial past, you didn't think to include any of it or even mention it in passing....
    How typically American.
But at least you got out there and tried something. I suppose.
Not that you seem to know what it was, or even why you did it...

We made multiple videos about Chukotka, this one is just about the food. We always separate the food videos from a particular region because it ruins the pace of the nomral travel/cultural videos. All of your complaints about this video are answered by watching the main video about the region. Think before you post with God-like wisdom that you know how "typically American" someone is.
