I'm pretty sure the Hi-Point still has a lifetime warranty. About 20 years ago I bought a used 995 and I sent it into Hi-Point. They inspected it, replaced the worn parts and sent it back. All I had to pay was shipping. IMHO, that's a darn good warranty!
My 4595 carbine randomly blew up. I called them expecting nothing and they said wow I'm impressed send it in and we will get you a brand new one free. They literally melted the zymac receiver down and sent me a new one through fed ex with the same serial number. Whole brand new gun they covered shipping and everything for me.
I had a mag spring issue on my 995 TS Carbine and they sent me 3 new springs and an extra mag, that's quality customer service, no other manufacturer offers it.
@@williamkowalchik572 yeah, that may be but these folks STILL don't flinch. as stated above, all you gotta do is send them the remains and they'll handle it. i know a guy who found an original 995 carbine in a pawn shop in ROUGH condition. he sent it in and they sent him back a completely restored weapon in something like 4 weeks.
These are a lot better than people think. They are definitely not for the gun connoisseur. But for someone on a budget who needs a firearm for self-defense, this is definitely a good option.
I would say they’re not for the gun *snobs, not connoisseurs. Most people who say they “hate” them 1) have never shot one, and 2) are narcissists who have to show off their high-dollar “designer” guns to everybody anywhere they go, and look down their noses at anyone who doesn’t have an equally-expensive range toy. I have an expensive handgun that is more accurate than the JHP45, but if it isn’t surgically clean it is not reliable. It also is extremely picky about ammo. Knowing that, I would NOT trust it for self defense. I CAN and DO trust the JHP45 for *home* defense. I love it, but it’s a bit heavy for EDC. But if it was all I had, I’d find a way to carry it.
they'll never win a beauty pageant, but that's kind of the appeal to me. sexy/tricked out guns tend to go missing, and even if the hi point does..... i'm only out $180 as opposed to $600+
I'm a "connoisseur", and i like Hi Point, as i like AK's. I like what they are, and why they are: great weapons who makes the job done, affordable for everyone.
I very glad that an American gun manufacturer can make an affordable weapon. For those that don't have much money can have a chance to protect themselves or families. Thx for making these videos.
I have three Hi Point pistols. 9mm , 10mm JXP, and the 380 cf. They all work great and are super reliable. I enjoy them all. Hi Point is a great American made product! Thanks for making great content for regular people. Your channel is my go-to for reliable advice. Keep up the good work!
Good morning Dan. I love making these videos and comments like yours really make my day. I appreciate the compliment and I hope to keep making these videos for many years.
Cosigned by a Navy Corpsman , I have a Hi-Point 9 mm carbine , a Remington 870 , and this .45 acp on the video. for home defense. If you break in my house, you won't get out alive, I promise. My carry is a Charter Arms 5 shot 38 special. I keep it simple and spent less than $1000 for home and personal safety for my family. Don't listen to these gun snobs. Hi Points are good guns , they are reliable and will save your life just fine . -Former HM2 USN Blueside/ Greenside.
... about six years ago I was at a local range and a guy in the lane to my right was shooting a .45 acp Hi Point. During a time we both were loading mags I asked him about the Hi Point, he liked it a lot, pointed good and was fairly accurate. He said it was his bedside gun, and I remarked that using an inexpensive pistol for home defense was a good idea especially since, if he had to use it, it won't break the bank if it is confiscated by the police. He told me that's his plan, and he knows all too well about the pistol being taken by the police since he was a Deputy Sheriff in my town! ...
I have been shooting a 45acp Hi-Point model JH (not JHP) since the early 1990s. My pistol was gifted to me by an uncle. It has been accurate, durable, and reliable.
I have to agree with you on this one .. While they aren't my first choice for a pistol, they work.. and if you don't have much in the way of money .. they are at least giving you something that does what they say it will do for not a lot of dollars.
Because of your first video review of this weapon, I went out and bought the same one and I have to admit that I love the damn thing. I paid $36 for it... The shipping cost more then the weapon! Hell, the spare mags cost more then the weapon. The other reason I bought it in .45 is due to my dad passing away and he left me a spam can of Russian .45 acp ammo and I didn't own a gun that fired it. Problem solved! The gun became my yard weapons cache gun after I had a home intruder gain access to my home after Hurricane Ian and I was not able to get to the room where I store my weapons. Remember folks, It's a tool that was designed to solve a problem. No one cares what a hammer looks like, just as long as it get's the job done.
I recently unsubscribed to three well known gun channels I have watched for years, because they were basically getting their guns from suppliers, and their videos were the same thing week to week. You will notice I am still subscribed to you because of all the guns you show. Keep up the good work my friend !
@BertReno you mean to tell me that every gun trigger doesn't have "a little bit of take up, and then a crisp, clean break?" I stopped with him for the same reason. Oh, and for the olight infomercials.
@@dangerdylan5005 Let's say I do eat eggplant, and I think Furbees are too cute to shoot. I still watch Hickok, Plinkster, and Mix-up of course. I just unsubscribed to a few, but may still watch them at times.
Always good to see you out shooting, it's been way too cold and windy out here . My buddy bought one of the 45 hi-point when we went to a local shop . He got it a case and 50 rounds of target ammo for $100. He's had the gun now 5 years with no issues, and he bought the 45 carbine as well . Thanks for taking us out with you
Thanks for doing these update reviews on firearms. So many people do a first impression review only. Which can be valuable info for choosing a new firearm to purchase, however a lot of guns break down or malfunction much quicker than others , which is useful to know!
My son and I really do enjoy making these videos, although he was at work when I made this Hi-Point video. I am honored to have my channel in your top 5 and my son and I thank you very much for watching our videos. Have a great Sunday.
I like all guns...I own a variety all the way from Wilson and Baer down to SCCY and Taurus. If a gun does what it is supposed to...that's what matters. I have had some cheap guns perform better than some expensive gun's. I see you have an open mind as well. Glad to see another vid from you.
I bought one ..bout a year and a half ago...used the stock mag for a while...then got the mod for a 1911 mag... This gun is really awesome...prob 800 - 1000 rounds reloads and factory.....never a problem.....when my wife and i go to the range it's her preferred gun. She loves it ! Thumbs up to Hi Point on this one !!
I have wanted to buy a hipoint just to scratch that curiosity. My wife is pissed, but I am about to go pick up a JHP 45. I have been hearing nothing but good things about the reliability of it. Gonna take it toe to toe against my favorite handgun ever.
It definitely cannot hold up to my favorite handgun. But I did just take the Hi Point out and was grouping very well. Half the rear sight is missing but my grouping was great. My wife is still pissed
I got my wife the .380 and myself the 9mm for our first handguns. They were a great introduction into handguns. Low recoil and dependable but heavy. We didn't know any better at the time. Sold both of them and moved up to smaller/lighter handguns. No regrets.
You may not have the biggest gun channel, but for this enthusiast, it's the best one. Gotta love your son's relaxed way of shooting, sitting back, legs crossed, bullseye! Regarding the Hi-Point, if it came with sling attachments, it would be a consideration. Too heavy for this gun toter.
Have owned a C9 for about 10yrs but did make a big improvement on it. Now has a set of skull grips for a little bling. They have nice sets for the 45 also. Thanks guys & stay safe! 🇺🇸🙏👍🎯
Nice to see a reviewer that doesn't hate a Hi Point just because its a Hi Point. Give it a fair chance like anything else. Review the gun and if its junk, say so but if its a solid gun, then say so. I have a Hi Point C-9 I bought a few years ago as a boat gun and have been very impressed. Yep, it's a little heavy but it's more accurate than I am and it goes bang every time I pull the trigger and eats whatever I feed it. Prettiest gun on the market,......probably not but it does what its supposed to do........every time so far. Thanks for the review. Great job!
I like your style! No pretentious BS!!! I like the fact that you didn't "Dawg" the carbine before you even shot it like most folks do and even picked up a JHP 45 too!!! 90% of the Hi Points reviews start off with people who act like they'll catch tha Clap if they touch one! I've had mine for 12 years or so and I still trust it! It's no longer my GO TO gun on bed stand but I still shoot it with no problems and IF I needed it, I would grab it without fear!
I'm a gun nut and I love almost all guns, especially guns that are reliable, accurate and affordable. I'm glad to hear that you have owned your Hi-Point for 12 years and you still trust it. I would like mention that you have subscribed to my channel for eight years and I really appreciate it.
@@mixup98 Good Times.... I appreciate You and Jr's hard work and knowledgeable yet laid back approach. The back stories of your guns and experiences are cool too!
I’ll be honest I don’t like Hi Points but I love your channel; plus, we get to see the beautiful southern Nevada. Thank you for making these honest, regular American videos that people can relate to more than the tactical drills and action.
You have a very good channel, fun to watch and you add some bloopers, honest reviews good or bad, I like the point that you do more low budget arms and not the High $$ that regular working guys can't afford, heck I like your pawn shop finds as well. keep up the great work
I know it sucks to buy your own guns but that is one reason I like your channel. Viewers don't have to worry about corporate 'influence'. When I see you have a new video up, I'll usually make the time to watch it b/c of this. What's good about this pistol is if you use it in home defense. "Officer, here is the gun I used when the bad guy broke in. You need to take it in for evidence?" 'Uh, is that a Hi Point? Nah, you keep it and we'll reach out if we need you to bring it in'.
never had issue with 9mm carbine 995, my only issues were constant jams using the 3 hi-point 9mm manufacture magazines in my hi-point 9mm pistol. As I bought the gun and then 2 additional mags directly from Hi-Point.
I have the 9mm c9 and the 40cal JHP. The 9mm had a lot of hiccups with the first two mags I put through it , after that it’s been 100%. The JHP has been 100% since the first magazine. I think they are great truck guns, boat guns, or anywhere you need a reliable gun , but don’t what to use an expensive one to rust or get beaten up. My wife actually prefers the 9mm C9 to more expensive handguns we own. She keeps it in the nightstand on her side of the bed. I love the fact that Highpoint keeps making new stuff like their 10 mm and updating their old designs. They kind of follow the Palmetto State Armory motto about making less expensive firearms so everyone can afford one.
Another great video sir! I remember your first video on this amazing piece and went out and bought one to have fun at the range with. I now have the upgraded version and it acts as my tractor gun. Thank you to you and your son for this one!
Hi-Points just work and they serve an important slice of the market. It's better than nothing and that's all it needs to be. I like that you shoot everything you can get your hands on, especially affordable guns. You're not some super tacticool bro shooting $4k guns, you're just a guy and his son having fun plinking out in the desert.
Really enjoy your videos; very upbeat, practical and informative from an “everyman” perspective (which is to say that you shoot and review guns I actually own or would buy)!
I have a 10mm Hi-point carbine. I put the barrel shroud on it, took the iton sites off and put a red dot on. Its ok. I also got the dual magazine holder for the buttstock. I do wish higher capacity mags were available
Appreciate the honest review. I did have one for a while. I used it for work doing wetlands management with a good bit of kayaking, canoeing and wader work. So it didn't bother me to carry it in nasty conditions and if somehow it was lost it wouldn't be as much of an expense. It ran everything factory I put in it. But it was somewhat finicky with handloads. Thank you.
I love my Hi-Points as much as any of my defensive tools. I even like how rhe jhp45 feels and fires better than my g21 knuckle cutter. The 4595 Carbine is my favorite at it's working distances. That said.. I have to point out, and perhaps you're unaware perhaps not.. The Meltology Mountain {melted structures buildings city} in the backdrop is incredible, amazing even. Center frame it looks exactly like the dome of a capital style building and a smaller domed clock\bell style tower to our lower left of it. I'm sure there are some 'caves' and or 'old mines' on that hill, which were halls and rooms etc once, now melted petrified vitrified collapsed and buried in it's own Brick melt and Mud. Love your channel and have been here for nearly all of it. Keep Being yourself and doing good work. Peace Love and Abundant Prosperity to you and yours.
Happy to be one of your members. I like the fact that you (and your son!) review guns for the regular guy (and gal) to use and have fun with. And you're not full of yourself... Just an honest guy. Thanks for that.
When you really think about it a gun is just a tool . We want it to be reliable , reasonably accurate , and with enough power to get the job done . I think you've demonstrated that the Hi-Point you're reviewing does all that .. I don't presently own one but I don't see where you can go wrong especially given what they cost . Great video , thanks so much !
I remember i always heard Hi Point was trash but after doing research, i ordered a 995ts, and it has ran great for the 6 years i've had it. It may be goofy to gun snobs but i really liked the feel and look of the JHP45. For the price i'll pick one up.
I will be posting another Hi-Point video in the near future where I shoot both my pistols, the 9mm and .45 JHP. Thank you for taking the time to watch and comment on my video.
Gotta give them credit for making cheap reliable guns in the US. I’m done buying Hi-points (I know famous last worlds) but I really appreciate your honest testing, and just about everyone who buys these to crap in them is surprised that they run and don’t die. Lots of torture testing has proved they’re durable even though they’re ugly and blocky
I've enjoyed your channel for years because you always give good, honest reviews. The JHP has been on my radar for a while now,,would make an excellent garage gun.
I noticed that you have been a subscriber to my channel for eight years. That's awesome....thank you! Don't tell anyone but I also keep mine in my garage 👍😎

@@lloydhills7416 Ruger sucks! I had a super Blackhawk that had been drilled and tapped since the 80s. Ruger said it voided the warranty or any type of repair for that matter. The New England trash talker on the line stated that if the gun was shipped to them they would destroy it because they deemed it unsafe. Buncha lawyers! AND Bill Ruger was an advocate of gun control! Screw Ruger and their overweight cast guns.
The heavy weight makes it feel like less recoil. If you get a couple of good magazines they are reliable as heck! They aren't my first choice to carry around but for a truck gun or just hacking around at the range with your friends, can't be beat.
My C9 goes bang every time, and the one f2f was on the 2nd mag through it when I had it fully loaded. I backed off to 7 rounds per mag for about a 100 rounds, and now it runs flawlessly loaded all the way. Now I just need to get the carbine to go with it, or get the 45 carbine to go with the Taurus that my mother-in-law gave me after her husband died.
I have the exact same Hi-Point pistol and I'm like you it's a great firearm and I've had mine for 10 years now and you are right it will fire any kind of ammo you can put thru it and I paid the same as you did and I don't plan on getting rid of it and I the sad part in the State of Illinois you can't buy the Hi-Point pistols unless it's a used one and that happened one year after I bought mine, but the good thing is we can buy the Hi-Point carbines and I have the 995 TS and it's a great carbine for what I paid for it and I think I paid 260 dollars out the door brand name and I got a great deal on 4 extra magazines for 50 dollars and since I have had it it will fire any ammo thru it and like you said anyone on a budget Hi-Point pistol and carbines are a good starting point, because I'm like a lot of people I'm on a budget and I have different firearms and most are budget friendly and what anyone who is looking for a good firearm Hi-Point is a great start and it has a lifetime warranty on it and if they can't fix it they will send you a new firearm to replace the one they can't fix.
I have the 4595 carbine. It always goes bang! I recently bought a C 9 pistol. Didn't go so well first 50 rounds. I polished the feed ramp on it and 100 rounds ran flawlessly through it then!
I bought a brand new 40 cal Hi-Point, off GunBroker for $40 plus shipping which was 20. So 60 bucks for a brand new 40 cal. Obviously I don't carry it but just the plank around with, it's not bad
It's not going to win the sexiest gun of the year award, but the darn thing looks like it shoots pretty good and it's really reliable. What more could you ask for less than $200? I'd say it's a winner. Great video!
Its a fun toy. I saw their new 10mm & its going for less than my cheapest red dot cost! Insane they can even make something half functional at that price point.
I can't speak to the other popular RUclips channels other than to say that it is your channel that is concise clear accessible well presented with high production value. The information provided is on point particularly to those who are not necessarily well versed with firearms. It is your channel that I look for.
About 12 yrs ago I bought a C9, first semi auto pistol I have owned, since I’ve sorta moved on to Glocks and 1911’s for competition but still got the C9 and picked up a 45 like yours, they still get taken to the range ever so often, they just make me smile
You've always been straight on a firearm when it comes to reviewing. Very underrated, very enjoyable to watch, AND there's always a few things to be learned.
I had the Hi-Point 9mm carbine and loved its accuracy. In fact it was probably one of my most accurate carbines. And yes it was reliable as well. The only reason I got rid of it was because of the lack of options to put accessories that could be put on it.
As much as Hi Point may not be exactly my cup of tea, I will never disparage the brand because it does work, the warranty is exceptional, people have sent squib shot carbines with 30+ slugs lodged in the barrel and were sent a new rifle. What do you want for the price? I've seen them sell for 100-150 bucks out the door. Is it clunky? Yes. Ugly? Most definitely. But I guarantee anyone shot with it isn't going to care about that as much as the fact that they've just been shot. They're simple which usually equates to a more reliable weapon. If that's all you can afford it will definitely do the job. I wouldn't own one, but it's more to do with the fact that I already have handguns and carbines that are a little better anything Hi Point produces. But for a truck, tool box, or tackle box gun it's perfect. But I'd never talk crap to the owner of one because that kind of behavior is disgusting to me. We're supposed to be brothers in arms, not Nancy holier than thou a holes. At least you own a firearm. Besides we have enough enemies to gun owners, lets not bash each other. Own what you want and can afford. Sometimes excessively expensive firearms purchases just aren't in the cards.
Really enjoy your channel . In today's economy a lot of people can't afford to buy ( the best ) or anywhere near it . If a hi point is all you can afford so be it .pretty isn't what makes the 'oil light ' come on in bad guys . What ever caliber you have , you are Armed .And that , means you have a chance to protect your family .
Hi-Point: Better than not good. I've never had a problem with the 9 and 45 I've had in the past. There are really only two types of firearm owners: those that see vainity and those that see tools. Good video sir.
Subscribed to your channel today because I watched the Hi Point review. I bought the Hi Point 45 ten years ago and everyone said they jammed but I bought anyway. I took it out and fired it and on the second shot it jammed so I put it on the shelf and there it has sat for 10 years. Your review may have me take it off the shelf, oil it and try it again. Thanks!
I love the guns you review, there guns pretty much all of us can buy which is nice. It ok watching videos of 5000 dollar guns but the reality is not every average Joe can afford it. Thanks Mixup!!
You are very welcome MrSpeedy. I would never do a review on a $5000 gun. A lot of my viewers wouldn't watch it and besides, I don't own a gun worth even half that much 😁 Seriously, I love making these inexpensive gun videos and I thank you and all of my other viewers for watching them.
I thoroughly enjoy your no nonsense videos! Thanks for a great approach and your honesty. I do the same thing on my channel, and I need to get some more videos up. I'm extremely grateful for my Hi-Point 45 and am very surprised that even though the trigger is rough, I'm very accurate with it. Same thing with my 9mm carbine, and I recently bought a 10mm pistol. I'm confident it will be as accurate as my other 2. Have a great week, and keep the great videos coming!
I owned a Hi-Point CF380 for several years. I had to tweak the magazine that came with it but once I did it shot first time, and every time. I bought a second extended magazine and never had a problem with it. Through hundreds of rounds it was perfectly reliable. Hi-point is heavy and homely, but if you're on a limited budget they're a very good option for self defense and target practice. They sure beat the hell out of a sharp stick, lol.
Oh, yeah. Just gotta get rid of those universal background checks, red flag, and storage laws. Plus, add constitutional carry, and then it'll be perfect.
I bought the hi-point .45 carbine and it is an amazing bit of fun. I put a reflex sight and muzzle on it and, especially for the money, nothing can touch it for reliability and accuracy. I heard the pistols had reliability issues but am glad to see this refutes that. Great company.
I had a couple of these HP 45's over the years. I hated the first one with a passion.....got another on trade 5 years later and kinda grew to like it, LOL seemed to do the job. You have better accuracy than I had. I still have my 9 and 45 in the carbine. excellent guns.
I have this pistol and let me tell you for the $145 i paid for it, it has never malfunctioned as a matter of fact i have never cleaned it and it fires perfectly. Not going to win any major shooting competition's but it will work for self defense!
The farm tractor of pistol, built to do its job, and do it well. Durable and functional, and you're not going to cry if something happens to it. Btw it is very simple to allow it to fire without the magazine. I love highpoint! Interesting every so often I could hear some ricochets.
Good video, thanks. I have the hi point in 9mm and it also is very reliable , pretty accurate and a pleasure to shoot because of the weight of the slide...I like it a lot.
Sometimes I wish I lived near the desert. Shoot all day long and nary a soul will bitch about it. I appreciate the honest review about the Hi-Point. Lots of haters out there....and snobs. Hi-Points are indeed heavy and chunky, with looks only a mother could love. But they also tend to cycle quite well, and are reasonably accurate. And at least the people that make them have a job and pay their taxes in America.
When I first left the Military, I went to a gun show where I lived and was looking around and saw the JHP 45 sitting there on a table picked it up and looked at the price tag right next to it was a C-9. After doing some thinking on it I walked out of the gun show with both the C9 and the JHP, 2 boxes of ammo for each for a whooping $240.00. Those pistols were the first firearms I bought after leaving the ranks and have loved them for what they are ever since. I now have a plethora of High-Points in my collection and do not regret buying any of them. They’re simple, they work, and are easy on the wallet. I also love being that guy who out shoots Johnny guru with his thousand dollar pistol with my $200 brick. 😂😂

He told me that's his plan, and he knows all too well about the pistol being taken by the police since he was a Deputy Sheriff in my town! ...
Same here!
I have been shooting a 45acp Hi-Point model JH (not JHP) since the early 1990s. My pistol was gifted to me by an uncle. It has been accurate, durable, and reliable.
Dollar for dollar it's hard to complain about them. I have a couple and they always fire and fairly accurate
I have to agree with you on this one .. While they aren't my first choice for a pistol, they work.. and if you don't have much in the way of money .. they are at least giving you something that does what they say it will do for not a lot of dollars.
I'm proud to be part of the 82 million views. You put out a very entertaining and enjoyable channel that I look forward to watching. Keep 'em coming.
We appreciate your honest reviews, the modifications, and DIY projects like the Mossberg shotgun which is impressive in its own right.
jwings Thank you for being part of the our family....much appreciated.
I've had mine for 3 - 4 years. No problems and no complaints. Thanks for giving it another look.
It’s ugly as hell lolol but works?
😂
Love the hammer comparison
I recently unsubscribed to three well known gun channels I have watched for years, because they were basically getting their guns from suppliers, and their videos were the same thing week to week. You will notice I am still subscribed to you because of all the guns you show. Keep up the good work my friend !
I noticed that too from some of the ones I watch.
Scootch comes to mind.
@BertReno you mean to tell me that every gun trigger doesn't have "a little bit of take up, and then a crisp, clean break?"
I stopped with him for the same reason. Oh, and for the olight infomercials.
Who else. I have many suspicions
Thanks for taking us out with you
I had one of these, every thing you said was true: lower cost, very reliable and simple gun. A budget gun that dose not get the respect it should.
Thanks for doing these update reviews on firearms.
So many people do a first impression review only. Which can be valuable info for choosing a new firearm to purchase, however a lot of guns break down or malfunction much quicker than others , which is useful to know!
I always appreciate your honest opinion. This channel is one of my top 5 favorites mainly because of the fun you and your son put into it.
My son and I really do enjoy making these videos, although he was at work when I made this Hi-Point video. I am honored to have my channel in your top 5 and my son and I thank you very much for watching our videos. Have a great Sunday.
@@mixup98: Yours is a very underrated channel. You+ your son = 100% honest work. That equates you're BOTH honest ppl..
😉🇺🇲💪🙏🙏🙏🙏
Thank you so much Hernando. Your comment really means a lot to us🙏🙏
I like all guns...I own a variety all the way from Wilson and Baer down to SCCY and Taurus. If a gun does what it is supposed to...that's what matters. I have had some cheap guns perform better than some expensive gun's. I see you have an open mind as well. Glad to see another vid from you.
A channel for people like me, just a regular guy helping regular people. I love the nod to trek fans and the era 😁
I'm also a regular guy and I am thankful that I am in a position to help other guys that are just like you and me. I love your comment....thank you!
@@Catgat37.how do you lose half a rear sight...I own one??
@@Leonard-t6b I bought it used from a pawnshop. I am pretty sure the previous owner dropped it or something.
You can lock the slide back with the manual safety lever. In fact you have to do this to disassemble it.
You are absolutely correct and I stand corrected. It sucks getting old 😢
@@mixup98 nah, you're good. Heck I'm a lot older than you are, and I forget stuff all the time…
@@Mbartel500 Thanks!
@@mixup98I have slowed down in my old age…last Sunday it took me an hour and a half to watch 60 Minutes.
Love love love my hi points. They just work!!! Would not part with them ever!! Take care!
Seriously underrated handgun in any caliber! Have 2 pistols and a carbine!
Oldest pistol is well over 10 years old and has zero issues
I got my wife the .380 and myself the 9mm for our first handguns.
They were a great introduction into handguns.
Low recoil and dependable but heavy. We didn't know any better at the time.
Sold both of them and moved up to smaller/lighter handguns.
No regrets.
Springfield xd 45. theyre awesome
It's not hard to add some yourself. Not hard at all. Can be done in a few minutes.
I always appreciate your fun, humor and honest reviews.
I appreciate that!
Like your channel..No BS, real world experience, no politics...
Thank you for the awesome feedback OldGlaseye 😎
Awesome video guy ...I bought the 9mm version a few years back myself and gave it to my step-dad for home protection
👍😎 👍😎
It’s a good morning when mixup uploads!
Another great video sir! I remember your first video on this amazing piece and went out and bought one to have fun at the range with. I now have the upgraded version and it acts as my tractor gun. Thank you to you and your son for this one!
I love it when someone buys a firearm based on my review. You just made my day....thank you!
I agree with you 100% Alex, and I thank you for taking the time to watch and comment on my video.
I appreciate an honest opinion. 👍🏻
I think I saw 3 bounce backs off plate going to right after 7:40. Could have been camera glitch. He's right on HP. With them cheap doesn't mean junk.
@@mixup98 the garage is a guy's "home away from home."I guess we keep a lot of stuff there that isn't mentioned.Keep the video's coming, always enjoy them.
I love Hi Point! I’ve got some really expensive firearms but Hi Points customer service is second to none. I want a 45 carbine!!!
Ruger has an excellent Customer service to, they have always treated me great. No charge for shipping either way and free repairs.
I have a soft spot for Hi Points. Made in USA and lets someone get into guns for hobby or for self defense at an affordable price. Great vid!
👍😎
Ive had mine for several years now with no problems at all & its been a reliable firearm.
I see you repaired your target holder. Good review! Pretty good firearm for the price, too!
I always look forward to the next Mixup video.
I applaud High Point for providing an inexpensive reliable firearm for those who are less fortunate than many. They work.
I concur 👍😎
Its good to have honest reviews, alot of gun channels get freebies and you can't help wondering
Someday I just might pick up a Hi Point 10mm and do a review on it. Thanks for the suggestion and you also stay well.
Thank you sir. I really enjoy your videos. Honest.
I brought a Hi Point carbine in 45 ACP 10 years ago no regrets
Thanks for the video, from Northern Nevada.
👍😁
I've been holding out buying the jhp45. This review convinced me to go get one. Thanks for a great review.
Glad I could help, Scott 👍😎
Hi-Point: Better than not good. I've never had a problem with the 9 and 45 I've had in the past. There are really only two types of firearm owners: those that see vainity and those that see tools. Good video sir.
Thank you Joshua. I just completed my three-year review on my 9mm Hi-Point and the video should be posted this weekend.
Loving Hi Point. I’m collecting them, carbines and pistols, every caliber (except the dumb 30 supercarry). My home is nicely protected.
I bought one of those last year from a pawn store, used. It works. I have 1911s but for a truck gun it works fine
I use a well-worn 1911 for my vehicle gun. I feel better protected than I ever did with my HiPoint.
I have the JCP in .40. Nightstand pistol for sure. Unwieldy for carry, but never has disappointed me when I pulled the trigger.
Dead eye even with rock. Outstanding
👍😁
I have had nothing but good use out of my Hi-Points.
I have the 9mm carbine, surprisingly accurate out to 100 yds, not a single failure and can't beat the price.
a real humble gun channel.....my favorite channel
I owned a Hi-Point CF380 for several years. I had to tweak the magazine that came with it but once I did it shot first time, and every time. I bought a second extended magazine and never had a problem with it. Through hundreds of rounds it was perfectly reliable. Hi-point is heavy and homely, but if you're on a limited budget they're a very good option for self defense and target practice. They sure beat the hell out of a sharp stick, lol.
Nevada must be a great state to be a gun owner. It's literally a giant shooting range.
Oh, yeah. Just gotta get rid of those universal background checks, red flag, and storage laws. Plus, add constitutional carry, and then it'll be perfect.
Plus his shooting range has some of the best sound effects of any place in the world!
Arizona is amazing for gun owners.
This is why I love your channel, you review guns most people on a budget can afford. I would still take my 1911 over this Hi-Point, no pun intended! 😆
Good morning ravnar and thank you for the great comment. I agree, I would also take my 1911 over any Hi-Point 👍😎
I have this pistol and let me tell you for the $145 i paid for it, it has never malfunctioned as a matter of fact i have never cleaned it and it fires perfectly. Not going to win any major shooting competition's but it will work for self defense!
One of the best gun youtube guy. Keep up the great work
Had a couple over the years traded them but they worked great never worried about it not firing
The farm tractor of pistol, built to do its job, and do it well. Durable and functional, and you're not going to cry if something happens to it. Btw it is very simple to allow it to fire without the magazine. I love highpoint!
Interesting every so often I could hear some ricochets.
Thank you Just got me one a year ago I'm happy as well.
Good video, thanks. I have the hi point in 9mm and it also is very reliable , pretty accurate and a pleasure to shoot because of the weight of the slide...I like it a lot.
Even with their lousy triggers, I've found all my Hi Points (carbines, 9mm and .45 handguns) to be extremely accurate. Great video
Thanks! 👍😎
My son had HP9 no jam! He broke the plastic rear sight 2 or 3 times and the manufacturer replaced it all 3 times!! The company has great service!!
