      F.B.I Agent recently replayed B/W and Grimsley was probably the easiest. My lvl 45 Darmanitan with an expert belt on basically swept his team. Sheer force flare blitz or fire punch does the trick along with hammer arm. The only trouble was probably krookodile but I had a Samurott and lilligant just in case so it was a non-issue.

    • @f.b.iagent3971
      @f.b.iagent3971 4 года назад +6

      Nathan Walker Darmanitan has blistering attack and sheer force is an insane ability for flare blitz. 140 attack on a 120 power move plus STAB and another 30% bonus from sheer force should be able to tear a steel type to shreds
      It also helps that darmanitan’s speed is higher than that of bisharp, not trying to prove that Grimsley was the peak of Pokemon battling and defeating him is an honour only regarded by those who have mastered the arts of battling but as for someone who initially experienced him in challenge mode I found him and the rest of the elite 4 quite challenging

    just a heads up, in the remakes of gold n silver, once you get all 16 badges then the elite four members and lance use their real team and its actually probably the most difficult elite four in the series, especially the fact that your pokemon right after beating blue are still in the 50s while just Will (the first member) is using level 60s. I still believe Marshal is the hardest in Unova, and here's the explanantion (kinda lengthy but read it if you want to)
    The thing is, almost all of the others have at least one pokemon with a double typing and this is kinda of a double-edged blade: they can attack you from others fronts, but so can u.
    They all maybe have REALLY wide movepools (Grimsley being on top with 9 different moves to attack u with) But you can attack them in multiple places as well.
    But with Marshal, it's different: all his pokemon are pure fighting types, and considering that's a gen 5 game, there is no fairies, so you really only two options end up being flying and psychic. But it kinda of falls flat, cuz they all pack rock type moves, and also half of them have acess to Bug and Dark type physical moves, like Payback and U-Turn, which can make things harder for you, besides the fact that psychic type mons just REALLY struggle overall in Unova, cuz there's dark, bug and ghosty type mons EVERYWHERE to make your life hell.
    So yeah, I rest my case here.

    Elite 4 difficulty IMO
    1) Unova - The addition of challenge mode and increase popularity of competitive move sets
    2) Sinnoh - The sheer level imbalance the developers created, and the huge lack of fire types can make it or break it in Sinnoh. Even after the release of platinum, they still provide challenge.
    3) Kanto - Gen 3 remakes improve on the broken mechanics of Gen 1, more coverage moves and introduced rematches with higher levels and more coverage moves
    4) Johto - Can get difficult if leveling up becomes imbalance as you progress. Introduction of Dark and Steel types can improve your chances of victory.
    5) Hoenn - similar to Gen 3 Kanto, however ORAS made it less of challenge thanks to the downsizing of difficulty.
    6) Alola - new game mechanics and exp all can make you well ready and equipped to breeze they the elite 4
    7) Kalos - TOO EASY

    Galar technically had an elite 4, they just called it something else but the actual premise was still the same, starts of with Bede who's the fairy type trainer, then Nessa the water trainer, then either Bea or Allister depending on which version of the game you got with fighting or ghost, and finally of course Raihan the dragon leader. i really feel like in any discussions on elite 4, Galar shouldn't be excluded because i think these 4 fill in the elite 4 status in a unique and fun way

  • @am_small
    @am_small 4 года назад +2

    I consider the swsh elite leaders + bede as the galar elite four, as you fight four trainers. I played shield so I fought Allister, not Bea (i didn't know bea existed until after i beat shield) and this is my ranking.
    Easiest is Nessa.
    Her whole team (golisopod, pelipper, barraskewda, seaking and g-max drednaw) i could EASILY take out with charge followed by spark. Didn't take damage the whole fight.
    Next is Raihan.
    His goodra and flygon i could easily take out with ice beam, his torkoal and turtonator (despite being neutral) were no match for snipe shot, and his duraludon i could two shot with a special max starfall (duraludon's sp. def is trash).
    Penultimate is Bede.
    Her mawile could go down pretty easily with a flamethrower, but the rest of her team was kind of tough. When i will-o-wisp'd gardevoir, she surprised me with synchronise, her rapidash wasn't much of a challenge, but her quick attack was kind of annoying with its high attack, and her g-max hattrene with its crazy sp. atk (plus calm mind) and mystical fire fainted four of my pokemon.
    The hardest was definitely Allister.
    Her dusclops with disable got rid of my super effective moves and with thunder punch statusing my team, her chandelure with crazy sp. atk plus mystical fire (raising sp. atk MORE) plus shadow ball with that chance of LOWERING my sp. def, AND with will-o-wisp, leading into her cursola with hex (does double damage when target has a status) and with strength sap lowering my attack, ancient power with the chance of an all-stat boost, and amnesia. Then when her polteageist comes out, it's got shadow ball (possible sp. def drop) and that combined with nasty plot just destroyed my special game, and protect (you know what that does) but when i FINALLY get it to low health it comes out with giga drain which will do BROKEN damage because of my lowered sp. def and her usually maxed out sp. atk. Last is her G-max Gengar with hypnosis, and dark pulse and shadow ball just completely getting rid of my chance to use a ghost type, especially with gengar's high speed. Sludge bomb poisons and that's not good. G-max terror from shadow ball has 130 power and is special which is REAL bad if a previous pokemon used shadow ball and lowered my sp. def. Allister took FOUR tries to beat for me.

    Playing a black/white nuzlocke, the unova elite four is definitely the hardest, especially marshall because i had no flying or psychic type pokemon, (and i had a golurk that only had fly), so i had to resort to opening with my krookodile to intimidate his throh (it has a huge attack stat), switch to my golurk to predict a storm throw (it ended up using bulldoze anyways), heal up and then look for openings to use x attack and x defend to protect my golurk from damage and make sure it could do damage with fly, which just isn't a very strong move, especially without stab. So, it was by far the biggest challenge to me. I barely squeaked by shauntal without losing my chandelure and i also had to resort to some not so honorable strategies, and grimsley annoyed me with his liepard and scared me with his scrafty's coverage. Weirdly, caitlin wasn't that big a challenge considering the other three, but the coverage on her sigilyph scared the crap out of me

    Marshal's meinshao was so freaking strong, as a kid I regretted not having a ghost type to stop its high jump kicks.

    USUM aren’t even that bad of games, tbh they are decently more difficult than the originals. They also have a pretty decent amount of post game. They do kinda hold your hand on telling you where to go but i don’t really see how that could cause someone to really dislike the game. The games also have a great selection of Pokémon

    Also, before going against Bertha, you have to fight Aron who could take out the grass types which could gum up the works if you are playing a Nuzlocke.

    the challenge from Unova's elite four is that you get there five levels lower than them in black and white, so it forces grinding

    See I disagree massively, any games after the 5th gen are absolute cake walks. I struggled with Pokémon fire red and pokemon emerald elite four for weeks on end because leveling up was way harder and TMs were limited. I was always under level because I only did the storyline battles, however in gen 6 I was hovering at about level 40 by the time I defeated the 4th gym, I was over leveled by the time I reached the elite four and since TMs were reusable I could switch up move sets for each battle. Even for ORAS the battles were so easy that they didn’t have any real challenge to them. The handholding in games is real and this wasn’t factored into this video lol
