Let's be fair to Drasna. She doesn't have Goodra because Diantha has it. She doesn't have Tyrantrum because Diantha has it.
Right
Correct.
But honestly, they could have given Tyrantrum to Drasna and could have given Diantha Sylveon.
@@nickdentoom1173what about diggersby with huge power?
Diantha shouldnt have had it
@@legomagic007_YT diggersby tho?
We all said Larry was the one who gave us most trouble in the interview, just want to give this mans his promotion
Larry choke held a bear you know.
He also actually was the only one to beat me XD
No I said Larry because he DID give me the most trouble. That said it would’ve been cool if the E4 member you faced actually did change based on your answer.
To be comical, I actually said Katy 😂
Since you can sequence break the gyms in Scarlet/Violet super easy, you can fight Larry pretty underleveled.
Which is what happened to me. I got HANDLED by him. It was the first time in decades, ACTUAL DECADES, an NPC trainer had defeated me without me imposing a handicap on myself (though I guess fighting him before I was supposed to kinda counts as a handicap?).
And that's also why I love him.
16:51 “and even a good WinCon in Conkeldur”
So important that he had to say it twice
Good to know I’m not going crazy
@@RayNightshade12And even a good WinCon in Conkeldurr
A wincon so nice, you mention it twice!
When he started with Malva, my only thought was "Wow, her team actually has full move sets?"
Bdsp might not be as amazing as expected but it literally made justice to every gym leader and elite four member in sinnoh
For it being a one to one remake of the originals, it took me 6 tries to beat the elite four. They knocked it out with the competitive builds
They definitely buffed the elite 4 and champion, and gave us tough gym leader rematches, roark for example uses a sandstorm team in his rematch with a smooth rock to extend tyranitar's sand stream
COMPETITIVE BUILDS WAS THE ONLY TO BEAT THEM😭😭
No it didn’t
Yall need to get good
i love e4 members who use types different from their main one, just feels more realistic that they’d specialise in their type but also use other ones for coverage and to use their fave mons
That’s what I like about Aaron. His BDSP final team has 2 non bugs, but both evolved from bugs
Aaron’s BDSP team is just ridiculous. That team is almost perfectly balanced. Fire, Flying and Rock types can easily be countered by Flygon and Drapion is bulky enough and hits hard enough to be a solid ace.
That sniper+scope lens+cross poison and night slash is also nuts!
Ngl Aaron was the easiest one to beat for me. I used infernape and it ran right thorough the entire team 😂, id argue Bertha was tougher for me
@@williampilling6576 well Infernape is suited to run thru Sinnoh lol
@@SS4Luxray ya but infernape struggle against cynthia
@@aganbraganca4156nah easily takes out Lucario and roserade, simply have other Pokémon to take out the others. A weavile does work against Cynthia’s Garchomp and togekiss
It's fair to go with the more modern teams for the older generations. Really hurts that a lot of E4 members don't have a full team plus one type usually leads to easy countering. Those Gen 6 and 7 teams were very bad considering all the Pokemon & move options
Yeah...
These one type Teams May still Work for the simple Gym Leaders IF each Pokémon of their Team has a different type combination (mono types included) or just one/two types that overlap with each other for example Bug-Flying/Normal-Flying.
But if Elite 4 members could actually use two types like Larry would be perfect aus a Normal-Flying specialist He could counter Fighting type Pokémon with his Flying Pokémon.
I feel that even the Gen 4 pre-remake versions of the Sinnoh Elite 4 would still be in the upper half.
The final gym leader averages out at level 47, which is about where you'd be without massive grinding in an average playthrough of D/P.
Aaron, the first member of the Sinnoh Elite 4, Averages out to 53!!! and Lucian equals out to an everage of 60!!!!!!
and this is WITHOUT the massive EXP boost later generations give. Sure, their pokemon are a bit stranger due to Sinnoh Not really having a good balance otherwise (lol flint), but I feel they do deserve a mention for the fact that they're massively going to outlevel you from the word go. You needed Strategy for each and every member.
And then to top it off, Cynthia has her level 66 Garchomp, which can and will sweep teams unprepared for her.
I never understood why trainers were designed to not have 4 moves filled out. This goes double for the elite 4.
Fr these are supposed to be the best trainers in the region and they have less moves than trainers with level 15 pokemon
@@rainbowappleslice I blame the programmers lol
It's to trick the AI into using certain moves and lessen the chance it uses an undesirable one.
Imagine being an Elite Four member and going out of your way to remove your Pokémons' moves 😭
16:53 I think he had a good wincon with Conkeldurr
and even a good wincon with Conceldurr!
i know rika’s team isn’t the best but i still love it because it feels like she’s built her team using pokemon she loves rather than the strongest ones. i feel the same way about wallace’s champion team (which i suspect will be pretty low on the list if you do a champion ranking). i headcanon that he wanted his luvdisc on his champion team as well but wasn’t allowed to because luvdisc is complete dogshit
Nice Profile Picture
Tbf his mono water team is pretty good from gen 3 perspective. Even Wolfey has rated him slightly above average because of the same reason.
If it was Gen 9, I can imagine him having water types or those resembling water types like:
Pelipper with Drizzle
Palafin
Overqwil/Eelektross/Toxicroak
Dragalge (does well against both electric and grass types)
Basculegion (with Swift Swim and Last Resort)
Milotic (Gimmicky set of Tera Water, Scald, Ice Beam, Recover and Hypnosis with Quick Claw. The idea is to survive one super-effective hit because of bulk to have more chances of activating a quick hypnosis or Tera water Scald in rain which will hit hard.)
Would make for a fun challenge
@@nishant9289 wallace challenge sounds super fun! there is a problem in that most of his pokemon are either dlc mons or are just not in scarlet / violet (f in chat for wailord). i think he’d definitely use quaquaval if he had gen 9 mons though, quaquaval is basically just wallace if he was a pokemon hehe. i could see him using cetitan as well if non water types are included as it’s a relative of wailord
Rikas a dude
Imagine being tired of your job, having 5 pokemon of an average type and no items and still somehow you are one of the strongest elite four members of all time
Vida de brasileiro é isso aí
I recently replayed Heartgold and Koga's rematch was nuts. His venomoth got up two double teams, then baton passed into Swalot. It then proceeded to not get hit, heal up when it did with black sludge and pain split, and poison most of my team. It was very unexpected and was surprisingly strong.
The uploader ain't aware of the power of a poison team. I always play monotype poison team. I fought Cynthia underleveled and didn't even lose a single Pokémon. My team was almost the same as Koga but I used a Drapion instead of Venomoth
@@thebukojoeplays got it. So you’re only a slightly stronger koga. Poison types are so piss poor weak idk how ya’ll struggle against them. Especially since they have two glaring weaknesses in which a majority lack sp. def in. Their two weaknesses snipe all of their somewhat average defenses.
I like the tournament that you can freely replay in SV. But I'm so confused why you can't challenge the E4 again as well. Or that they are also omitted from the tournament outside of Geeta.
I've been playing since red and blue, and I've never had more trouble than I did with the BDSP elite 4, not to mention Cynthia as the champion.
15:37 Karen's Spiritomb is the bane of my existence. In my roughly 100 post-game HGSS rematches, that movepool almost always drives me nuts.
You bring back memories with this one. Screw that Spiritomb!! 😂
for me the scariest was Houndoom, if it uses nasty plot without dying, It can easily sweep your whole team with dark pulse
@@Mimirden Totally get that. I usually one-shotted Houndoom with a ground or water move, before it could attack after setting up Nasty Plot. Lol
That is why Karen is the hardest Johto Elite Four member but if that drives you nuts then try Agatha's post game team her Misdreavus is a pain hence why she is the hardest Kanto Elite Four member
Intriguing Ranking!!
The idea of Elite 4 and Champions is seen as the most powerful in there respective region. But you looked deeper and made a in-depth ranking to see which Elite 4 member is truly the strongest.
I wish Kalos could be given justice. The entire Pokemon league felt so unfinished compared to the anime that aired alongside it.
If they’d made the gyms and E4 tougher, Kalos could have been the best Gen
I might’ve put Koga higher than Bruno - though his strategy is based on hax, I think his mons have better bulk, while Bruno can get swept by a fast mon with high SpAtk. Still enjoyed your list - thanks for sharing, Mystic!
You forgot you can fight Hassel in the Ace Academy Tournament, where he adds a Dragonite.
He said, “fighting them *as an elite four member.”* that means fighting an E4 member not for getting past the E4 doesn’t count
One thing I'd really like to see that I don't think anyone has done I ranking them based, not just on their in-game team using in-game logic, but whatever lore they may have and taking aspects from the manga and anime to fill them out.
For example: Drasna is the third lowest ranked E4 member on this list, but the anime has her being in the top 12 trainers worldwide (including champions) (at least trainers that participated in the WCS, ex - Wallace didn't participate). Her being top 12 means that she falls just outside the Champion power-level
Other Interesting Thing if we rank them like this: In the manga Flint & Volkner are relatively equal in terms of skill and ability (which greatly boosts Volkner if we decide to throw in Flint anime feats). Wallave & Steven are also at the same level in the manga.
The fact that BDSP gave competitive sets and abilites to the Elite 4 makes them the best by comparison as aside from BW2's challenge mode, which they at least gave items to their Pokémon. The fact that some don't even have 4 moves or a team of 6 sucked.
That’s true if they’re considered to be end bosses E4, then they should all have six pokes on their team and four moves each.
Looking foward to seeing how the Blueberry E4 would fit in here. From what I've heard, they don't mess around. Amarys's team is in the level 80s, and it'd be safe to assume the same for the others.
Don’t forget Paldea E4 team updates:
Rika has Tottera
Poppy has Bastiodon
Larry mixes his E4 and gym leader teams
Hassel has Duraludon
After finishing the dlc In my opinion the blueberry elite four are the strongest in the series and DBSP elite four isn't even close in difficulty thought they are still the second strongest elite four now.
@@tmnt754 Nah bro BDSP still harder. but blueberry the second hardest for sure.
@@tmnt754who are they?
@@arey256 They are part of scarlet and violet DLC wave 2 which takes place in a school in unova called blueberry academy their battles are all double battles and their names are Drayton, Lacey, Amarys, and Crispin.
Another reason the kalos elite four is terrible is not only because they have four pokemon they also lack the megas they have in the anime all except drasna’s altaria were megas that existed in x and y
Next generation there should be elite four consisting of:
1. Grass type boy with green poncho
2. Rock type black boy
3. Fairy type girl with blond hair and pink dress
4. Electric type boy with black spiky hair and electric style clothes
I liked your elite four. I would change the fairy for a normal type, with Lacey in the DLC we already have an elite four of the fairy type. combining the normal with the electric and grass, so all types have at least 1 member in the elite four
Didn’t realize watching this video it would trigger a core memory, Lucian is an actual monster of a trainer, I remember as a kid I even used cheat codes from an action replay and still almost lost to him dude was a menace and that alakazam is Satan
Kalos really had every dragon pseudo to that point and Drasna used 0 of them lol
She should have had a Hydreigon to contrast her personality and more importantly to showcase how Dragons feel after Fairy types were introduced.
@@nishant9289 i guess thir point was to make xy easy the elite 4 teams were underwelming
To be fair I don’t think most of these trainers didn’t face the player at full power. Kalos is the shining example of this!!
Black 2/White 2 and especially BDSP snagged all the wins as expected. In challenge mode rematch, I used:
a Crobat (carried hard against Marshall and did great against Iris and Grimsley. Forms amazing synergy with the two dark types in my team.)
Tyranitar with DDance (soloed Shauntal, and trivialised Caitlin. The main reason for bringing Ttar was to set sand and break Haxorus' focus sash which makes facing it so deadly)
Shiny Basculin (definitely did the least, but it atleast had Adaptability and Adamant nature with choice band, so that's still decent, and its shiny at the end)
Aerodactyl (just another flying type against Marshall, and good synergy with Tyranitar's sand stream and fly)
Hydreigon (MVP against Iris thanks to choice scarf)
Volcarona (ultimate sweeper, and the best mon against Grimsley)
Had a smooth sail until Iris, where I was playing a bit slack and ended up losing 4 Pokemon, with only Crobat and Hydreigon still not fainted.
I have never played BDSP, but looking at the teams, BDSP definitely has the hardest Elite 4 ever.
Will’s Jynx having dream eater is strange to me without a single hypnosis user, must’ve been a nasty surprise to the one person using rest in singleplayer
She has Lovely Kiss and this move puts the enemy to sleep.
Thank you so much for all videos you made. You are one of my absolutely best youtubers ever. Greetings from Czech Republic.
I wonder how much this changes with Paldea's Elite 4 getting actual rematch teams + the new Blueberry Elite 4 being a thing now too.
I really wish Ash Actually got to fight Flint and Lucien before going to masters 8 tournament in journeys anime
I haven’t struggled with an Elite 4 since Unova. I one shot all the Pokémon in Paldea E4. Come to think of it. The fairy trainer in the Blueberry E4 gave me a run for my money.
How if instead of individual members, we rank the whole elite four as a group from weakest (x and y) to strongest (bdsp) 🤔
This was the kind of video i was looking for. Please do more ranking videos on gym leaders and elite 4
i have not seen your channel in literal years im in shock
Bruno should absolutely be lower, the lack of variation in his defensive typings makes him an easy sweep
Confused as to why he was saying Paldea E4 didn't have rematch teams when they do, and then realizing this video probably came out before the Indigo Disc
7:56 i would be interested to see how you would rank the Paldean E4 with their new Indigo Disk Teams. Just new Pokémon and maybe full 6 mons(i don’t remember if they do😅)
and adding the Blueberry Elite Four teams to the ranking!
i think you should redo this video once the BB leauge get's released in pokemon SV wich will it's own set of elite four
Yo, that is Lycanroc Midnight that Olivia have on her Arsenal
Should do the champions ranking next
i can see iris rematch challenge mode team or cynthia bdsp rematch team being number 1
@@n7jaeger974I would order them from easiest to hardest as:
Trace
Peony
Lance
Diantha
Geeta
Steven
Blue
Alder
Wallace (Yeah I am the anomaly who found this guy harder than Steven)
N
Nemona
Kukui
Leon
Mustard
Iris
Cynthia
@@nishant9289 i guess red should be counted since he became champion of kanto after defeating blue and his hgss team is op
Man.... should have waited until the last dlc came out sonce it was already known that we faced against another set of e4.
Damn Sinnoh and Unova really have the best elite fours
If I were an Elite 4 member I’d be a grass type one with my ace being Sceptile
Geeta needs to be on this list as she is an Elite 5 member
Yeah her teams backwards. Imagine having a Pokemon they had a wooden sign that says put me at the back of your team and you send him out first
Malva's Talonflame has FLAIL. ELITE FOUR MEMBER HAS A POKEMON WITH FLAIL
An elite 4 based around Snow, Sun, Rain and Sand would be awesome.
While they're far from the strongest, I did like how the Paldean E4 interacted with one another.
I feel like this list needs an update due to Indigo Disk providing rematches for the Paldean Elite Four as well as BB Academy’s own Elite Four.
Spoiler:
The Blueberry academy Elite four are without a doubt the strongest elite four in the entire series now even with a level 100, perfect IV, properly EV trained team they can still knock out a couple of you're Pokemon or even win if you take them lightly or make a mistake.
Ironically. As its the weakest lore-wise.
5:47 Considering Grusha's team, I doubt it
He has an Snow Cloak Beartic, like dude WTF, can you even call yourself an Ice specialist?
they need to bring back challenge mode in pokemon games
I loved the BDSP rematches with gym leaders and pokemon league. Cynthia can take out a team of 6 level 100's with her team thats how good it is
the sinnoh remakes and b2w2 challenge mode took those two elite fours and shoved them right to the top of the difficulty curve
The sad part about the Kalos league is they are my top 4 favorite types
Main takeaway from this is the Gen 5 teams has aged very well as Gen 4 and 5 dominated the top 10. And Gen 5 havent even had an update like the Gen 4 E4 had. Imagine if the Unovans got a BDSP level upgrade like the Shinnohans did?
Also, you should count the BB Elite 4. They are Elite 4 AND they are terrifyingly strong.
BDSP Lucian holds the honor of being the only elite four member to beat me in the last like fifteen years. That Mr. Mime gaining fairy type fucked me all the way up that first time lol
Keep up the awesome work and videos love the video
13:29 i don't think you can have a Crobat in the Let's Go Games. Wasn't Golbat introduced in gen 3, and not Gen 1?
You can't have crobat in let's go. Gen 1 only. Golbat is gen 1. Crobat is gen 2.
@@Dingus888 ahh. thought so. Thanks for confirming. Which means Agatha couldn't have had it either. Though, i doubt that, since the rival somehow has an evolved eeveelution at the e4 if you play Let's Go Pikachu.
ILCA needs to come back and make a Battle Revolution game for the switch and make the teams for the npc’s. It would be so cool seeing what every trainer from across the series is truly capable of with the every pokemon at their disposal
Can you remake this with BB elite 4?
Am i the only one who thinks pokemon dropped the ball with rika? I mean she couldve used either great tusk/iron treads depending on the version instead of tge dugtrio.
Look, I’m well aware of Aegislash’s reputation as being one of the most terrifying competitive Pokémon of all time… but do you really think a fucker named Wikstrom knows how to use one? Even with the moveset it has? I think that Siebold having a more competently well rounded team in comparison gives him the right to swap places with Wikstrom.
I feel like if you added the Blueberry Academy elite four, they just take spots 1-4
Ive had the thought recently that id like harder Pokemon fights but i would obviously do things to balance it. I think the elete 4 should just be good trainers, they can have themes for individuality but its not something like monotype. Make each elite 4 a tough encounter, but you get healed at the end of each one like an actual competitive tournament.
Ive started to get into the competitive scene, not that ill likely ever play but its fun to watch, and i think that the games could be more tied to its competitive side without excluding the casual player. I'VE BEEN PLAYING POKEMON SINCE I WAS 4, and i didn't learn about stats, abilities, and items and i still never used them because of how easy the monotype trainers are.
What if every gym was about teaching you how to play competitive/the game or just has a fun theme. The first 3 gyms can be fire, water, and grass to teach how the types work. Then we could have a weather team, friendship team, baby pokemon, abilities, items, terrains, physical/special (ie reflect etc...), terrain hazards, conditions, and so many more.
Yeah it'd be hard to recreate this every game, but we've also had the same 8 gyms for 3 decades now, id rather fight a condition team every game then a rock type team. By the time you've gotten to the elite 4 you know all the mechanics so you can take on a team that doesnt rely on one, each is a test of what you've learned accumulating in a battle against the champion.
Siebold’s Gyarados with dragon dance was arguably the only strong pokemon from the Kalos Elite Four.
That’s just more the power of Gyarados.
gyarados can literally be oneshoted by electric type
now that we have the Blueberry Academy
I wonder in what order and how high the Blueberry E4 would rank
And even a good win con with Conkelder
And even a win con with conkelder and even a win con with conkelder😂😂😂
The Kalos Elite Four got shafted, but I don't think they should be nearly as low as they are. Bruno has terrible coverage, Hala has only two moves on a lot of his Pokemon, Rika is just a plain letdown, Koga is extremely weak and Glacia just has the worst coverage ever. I have every confidence that the Kalos E4 can beat any of them even with only four Pokemon.
Also, this list just ignores the fact that rematch teams make it unfair to the members without rematch teams. The initial battle teams should have been all that was considered for a fair comparison.
Aaron finally getting the respect he deserves
16:53 thought I was having a stroke.
Must not have the BB academy E4 on here because the only difficult battle out of all E4 and Champions is Lacey
Tbh Flint's first team in bdsp was way more challenging than his rematch team. I had no issues with his second. While his first i was at least 10 levels higher and thought it was annoying to take down. Imo i would say his first team would be #3 on the list while his rematch team far below the top 10
its mainly about strength comparison about elite fours than us facing Them
Flint's rematch team was straight up competetively successful with good movest and items
unlike the others
You should do a Frontier Brains ranking
Why the fuck does gamefreak have the habit of not giving boss trainers full movesets
Gonna have to update this now. you can rematch the Paldea elite four now.
Stephen was by far one of the most infuriating elite four members
I think it funny siebold is supposed to be the strongest e4 member of kalos, I challenged him first and destroyed his team even with two water types
ngl i have played bdsp till now but lucian's platinum team still give me nightmares
never*
I’ll be waiting for the Champions next time!
Drasna was done dirty, not by this list but by Diantha who took the best two Kalos Dragons for herself and left the cute Gilf with scraps
well they at least should have given her goodra to make her strong
let's pray that the XY remake give their E4 a complete team... I hope they do it... really
i love this ranking. do you have a video where you rank all the champions?
I’ve been waiting for this
I knew before I even watched it that Lucian would be number 1. He always gives me trouble, and not even just in BDSP.
I’ll admit drasna siebold and Diantha all gave me a hard time on my first try but then I just used mega blastoise with ice beam
23:29 i had a horrible time fighting him for me he had driftbloom that only had support moves and will-o-wisp it took way to long
My moxie krookadile laughed at Caitlin
This was a fun video 👍🏾
You did this video a few weeks too early. Soon we will have the BB league, and looks like it will be really hard.
We haven’t had a poison type elite four member in a while so there should be a new one
Galar elite 4:
Klara(Poison): Nidoqueen, roserade, salazzle, Galarian Slowbro, Galarian weezing, g-max toxtricity
Avery(Psychic): indeedee, alakazam, mr rime, galarian slowking, gallade, g-max orbeetle
Peony(steel): aggron, metagross, scizor, magnezone, corviknight, g-max copperajah
Mustard(fighting): mienshao, Kommo-o, lucario, heracross, bewear, g-max urshifu
I think the Kalos E4 suffer from having no updated teams from rematches or a third version. They could even have Megas like the Hoenn E4.
Malva could have Mega Houndoom and...I dunno, Flareon? (Kalos doesn't have a lot of good Fire types);
Drasna could have Mega Garchomp and Hydreigon;
Siebold could have Mega Blastoise and Kingdra;
and Wikstrom could Mega his Scizor and add Escavalier and Lucario.
The lack of an official Pokemon Z hurts more every year
in anime Malva got a cool mega houndoom and then they go and pull this shit lol
Next time just wait with this video after the New game / new dlc comes out because in the indigo disk dlc we get a new elite four and from the previews it's going to be the strongest ever
Honestly Agatha held back and probably always is
I think Lucian is the strongest Elite four member while Malva the weakest also I think the Kalos elite four faulted because they only Four Pokemon on their teams and don’t have access to Megas in their games
