New bass and trying out Weed Wacker Strings

  • I recently ordered a rockabilly double bass in black from Thomann. This is a quick video comparison of the original orchestral steel strings and a set of Slap Happy Weed Wackers which are much better suited for psychobilly music and slap bass.

    I have a Cremona sb-2 bass, the FMI Weed Wacker E doesn’t fit into the tuner machine.. do I drill them bigger?

    hi. Nice bass... I got the other one that you showed before. And i put this strings . The happy slappy.. what can i say. I put it yesterday. But im not sure if to keep it there. I wanted to try slap 😅

      I think the weedwhackers are a bit too low tension. Next thing im gonna try are the steel core weedwhackers.

      They are... I tried again today... The E string is very soft sound. Not sure. I love the sounds in the two firsts strings ..

      Theyre Thomanns own brand, one is the Thomann 111BR and the other is a Thomann Rockabilly BK

      Nope, the video was filmed with the front camera of my phone so its flipped. 👍
