I'm sure your pawn will be able to have the upgraded vocations, just not the hybrid ones. That's how the first game worked.
They will.
Yes, they can be any vocation other than hybrid ones.
I looked it up and you're totally right I think I had just heard too much of people saying conflicting sfuff that it stuck. My apologies bros, didn't mean to misinform!
@@italianspartacus not even a big deal bro, excited to see your videos on the game when it comes out.
Unless your pawn dies I’m assuming they have to survive through your journey ?
13:38 No, that's how it used to work in the first game. They've shown stats will reallocate themselves when you switch vocations in DD2, which makes the system much more flexible this time around
Came for a comment like this lol was freaking out i had to remake my character and pawn 😂
Yeah I found this out recently as well thanks for keeping me honest!!
Also the stats are now dynamic so leveling is no longer a concern. Your stats will change when you swap vocations
This is a huge improvement from the first game, you can now play whatever you want at any point and not have to worry about your stats👌
The only disadvantage to changing vocations now will be that you still have to level up vocation rank to unlock the more advanced skills
@Casualgaming763 that's half the fun though
dude the way you do your videos talking about how you can leave if your up to date is verry admirable 👏
Just no reason to keep someone ransom for my content! If you want to find out more, stick around but if it isn't for you, please go find the info you need!
Just a correction, the pawns in DD1 also guide you where to go, and tell helpful tips if they were part of a party that already did the quest you're currently on.
I just found out about this game last week. Saw that the original was on sale for like $5 and tried playing it. I'm about 20 hours in, and I'm having a blast! The combat is really fun even if its a 12 year old game!
I ended up pre-ordering the new one lol
Same. I got it on ps plus cuz I wanted to get familiar with the combat and mechanics. And I got hooked
It's so good
The original has better framerate than this one, LMAO!
Are YOU ready, Sparty?
I can't wait to try out Mystic Spearhand!
DIP ME IN BUTTER
GREATSWORD OR BUST! But man that spear hand looks awesome 😊
I believe stats do not raise as they were in DG1. There is information around from an Asian tester showing how the character stats change as he swaps vocations, they have to be vocation based in order to nerf/balance warfarer.
Maybe only because it was like this in that version of the game. We do not know if they will change it back.
@@draugr121that would completely break warfarer as he said. It would just result in every class being inferior in endgame
@@feircy Not really since every class has its own stat growth.
You would just level as the classes with the optimal stat growth and then run wayfarer in endgame, getting all the veraatility and completely negating it's downside. Exactly as we did in the original lol
@@feircy do some research. It's different in dd2.
Advanced vocations being "evolutions" of the basic vocations could be interpreted as an improvement. Basic vocations are just as powerful and viable as advanced vocations. Basic vocations are generally well rounded and versatile in their approach to situations. Advanced vocations take an aspect of their basic counterpart and specialize into it. Hybrid vocations aren't any stronger than the basic or advanced, they're a blend of different vocations making them more adaptive to their damage types and fighting styles.
Examples: Fighter (basic) is an offensive and defensive front-line attacker with some utility; meanwhile Warrior (advanced) foregoes defensive capabilities for more offense and damage. Mage (basic) has defensive and offensive magics at their disposal as well as buffs; meanwhile Sorcerer (advanced) specializes in potent offense and AOE's with capabilities for extensive debuffs with dark magics. Mystic Spearhand (hybrid fighter/mage) is a front-line damage dealer with melee and limited ranged potential while dealing both physical and magic damage.
Yeah I clarify this in my next video where I say that it's a step deeper into fighter but doesn't REPLACE it because the advanced one plays upon a lot of the same themes but hyper focuses on a specific element.. In the case of Warrior, damage.
I definitely didn't represent that properly here, appreciate you keeping me honest bro!
@@italianspartacus No problem man. We're all here to enjoy the hell out of DD2 and share in the hype. It's easy enough to get caught up in the flood of info with highly anticipated games without really telling what's true or false. Just wanted to clarify this in the comments just in case people don't see your other video. No ill will meant of course. I'm definitely glad to see that the foundation of what made Dragon's Dogma such a great game is still intact.
Oh none taken bro!! I'm appreciative you made the distinction :)
Theres definetly going to be fast travel, ive seen footage of the Arisen using the ferrystone and one of the trailers even ends with a transition from a ferrystone and the title of the game,so im sure itll be limited like the innitial release of DD1 and they will be a late/end game thing with the addition of ox carts with specific traveling routes for early/mid game traveling which btw also qualify as fast travel since they give you the option to sleep and wake up once the cart arrives its destination, something the first game didnt had at all.
This game will be on a Baldur Gate 3 and Elden Ring level, can’t wait!
I fucking hope so
Tbf for 70 dollars it better be
temper your expectations
But it'll have a third of the frames.
@@TheStraightestWhitest Did you even see Elden Ring on launch? Shit was incredibly unoptimized.
DD2 Hype! It's gonna be a blast
Soooo stoked
I remember me saying 10 years ago
"Dam if they bring out Dragons Dogma 2 in the future i will play it until my Life's End"
We did it boyz 1 more week
I'm so hyped
Thanks for the video! Looking forward to starting fighter and transitioning into Mystic Spear Hand myself! Gonna have a mage as my main pawn I think.
I might be right there with you!
Love that you are covering this game as well a true rpg fan
Thank you brother!
Wait I thought I saw in one of the preview footage someone swapped around their character classes and their stats also swapped around. I don't think they kept that leveling thing with different stats being tied to different classes
Lemme look into that!! If you're right, thanks for keeping me honest bro bro :) I didn't see that from what I looked up, but I know it's pretty hard to fuck up a DD1 character
I’ve heard this too but no hard confirmation. Just comment sections.
It is confirmed to be changed. Your base stats will change when you swap vocations to whatever is level equivalent. Honestly without this endgame would literally just be warfarer with no downside.
@@italianspartacus I found the video it's called "dragon's dogma 2 preview" by Rurikhan
Can not wait. Really excited for this one!
Me too dude!
the charage system is in dragons dogma 2, in one it the waystone you place or the default one in towns
I’m curious to how DD2 will go about character progression (stats) like strength, stamina, and magic - both offensive and defensive.
Because for example, in the first one you only gain strength through fighter/warrior or any vocation with red. I say that because hybrids like Mystic Knight, you gain split stats from strength and magic. Same thing with a Strider, you only gain Stamina leveling up anything with yellow.
If this makes any sense.
Seeing lots of people treat the vocations as some sort of permanent class choice, if its anything like the OG the game is built for you to spend time with all of them, unlocking passives that carry over and other skills, as well as being better suited to certain situations. I'm sure new game + and hard mode are still a thing as well. Its better to think of it like remnant where your character level and your class are two seperate things.
That's such a great point dude. Thank you! I have a vocation video out tomorrow where I mention they're more of different ways to play than actual set classes
Just from the name vocations I figured it was more like the jobs system from the ff series
I'm ready to get it next month
Can't decide whether to main fighter or thief with the mage as a pawn or vice versa. Heard in another video that if you change vocations during the game you have to level it up from scratch, is this true?
I actually don't know, let me find an answer for you!
I'm not sure what you mean by "level it up from scratch".
Yes, you can change vocations any time you want. Vocations you leveled up will keep all their progression, levels, skills, augments, etc. Everything will stay the same.
But all vocations start at Rank 1, if that's what you're asking.
Oh yay you're doing Dragon's Dogma Too! I subbed for baldur's gate :)
I'd just like to note that the pawns did have quest and monster knowledge in the first game but I'll concede they weren't the best at conveying it lol
speaking of the trainers this nis like RAGNAROK when u need to pass a certain test when u wanna have a job
0:00 watch time : Yes i am ready
been following dd2 for awhile, so i figured i'd try out ddda. its fun dont get me wrong, i put several hours in but, my biggest complaint was not being able to allocate my own stat points for my character. being automated felt cheesy but, i understand why i guess. hopefully theres some type of soft allocation like a "rare candy" type item in game for certain stats.
Tbh, pawns in DD1 already had this multiplayer world experience that you talk about at 7:08, but it was very basic. They really just shouted something like "they're vulnerable to fire" or "we should be careful in this area" (I don't remember exactly, I haven't played in a while), but it wasn't noticeable because it was the most common-knowledge stuff ever. I believe in my 100+ hours in DD1, I have heard only three things that I didn't already know.
Maybe the Dogma was the friends we made along the way.
It always is!!
Pawns will be able to use Thief, Fighter, Archer, Mage, Sorcerer and Warrior all other Classes are Arisen Only, you can change your and your pawns vocation anytime and Stats Transform when changing Vocations also Inclinations dictate how your pawn behaves not only in combat but out of it too
Hope you are hyped
Dude I'm so glad you're covering dragons dogma 2. You we're the best content creator for baulders gate. Love your channel man.
Thank you so much brother!!
Except for hybrid vocations pawns can use all other vocations.
So I can make multiple save files with different created characters?
Unfortunately not. You'd have to save to the desktop or some other Tom e foolery
Just wanted to say I really appreciate your type of content creation (where you try to give a tl;dr at the beginning) and all the work you did on BG3 (how I found you). Some slight corrections/observations I felt were relevant to add:
- Stats are NOT vocation-dependent like in the first one from what I've found. Each vocation has a set "path" of stat increases as you level up. You do not have to worry about being ill-suited to magic if you've only played strictly melee classes until that point. This is the only big no-no I saw throughout the video.
- There is no weapon-swapping/vocation-swapping on the fly, that is all from the Warfarer vocation as far as I know (which can use 3 different vocation weapons of your choosing in-tandem through a swap function and is capable of using said vocation's skills but with noticeably worse stats).
- As said by others, pawns aren't limited to basic vocations (in the first game they were only unable to use hybrid vocations) but there will be certain Arisen-only vocations (not sure if these have been confirmed or not but I suspect Trickster would be an example of one such Arisen-specific vocation).
- Not a correction but a further explanation: After you create your character and begin the game, you can change things like appearance, masculine and feminine body types, etc, but you cannot change your species/race (you cannot go from Human to Beastren, or however you spell it, or vice versa). That is locked in and can only be changed if you restart your game/delete your save file at the time of this post.
- We do know all of the vocations that will be released in the game. There is (sadly only) a total of 10. Might change in DLC, might be all we get. It's not written in stone further down the road.
- The Trickster is its own unique thing. I can't really think of anything similar to it from DD1 (played since vanilla DD1).
how is the equipment/loot system in that game?
Hell yeah I'll be able to summon pawns in from france
SO HYPE!!!!
Can we still edit characters after starting the game? Can we switch main Pawn?
Yup!
@@italianspartacus great, that’s good to know.. thank you
@@italianspartacus oh.. is that yes to both questions?
We can edit our characters, but there's been no word on switching main pawns. I doubt it will be possible.
@@HollowBagelthanks. Good that we can still edit our characters even after game started… as I can’t quite get them right, but can keep messing even after started playing, until I get them right.
Why can we create 5 of each, if can’t swap or change them?
Who should I pick to eventually pick the hybrid Spear . The Mage or ?
It doesn't matter, but mage and sorcerer will likely have related augments you might want. But then again, so will warrior and fighter.
Goty will pretty much be between this and helldivers 2 i belive.
Cant wait for this
I definitely think I am going to get Dragons Dogma 2 on PC as long as the early reviewers dont have any performance issues on launch. I really enjoyed Dragons Dogma Dark Arisen and just how different the game played and felt from any other game out.
Great video sparty!
out of context, Spartacus: let me play a nice guy on the rails and slam fuck everything with my massif co..... 12:37
I'm super excited for this game I think this is the only game I've been excited about well flat version alot of vr games out and coming out not alot of flat games tho
Hell yeah
I love these are you prepared videos literally all you need to do is download it and have some free time. It’s not like you’re going on a three day hike in the wilderness.😂
I was excited for this game. Have 4 hours in the character creator. Went to play the first game, I cannot tell you how bored out of my skull I was. Fetch quest after fetch quest. It’s so bad lol
I’m going to wait for reviews in this one.
Hahahaha definitely wait for reviews. They've taken a different approach this time but it's $70. Don't get burned if you're on the fence!
I think my only real question is do enemies respawn, and if so how quickly.
Ohhh i actually don't know! But I believe so. Monsters are dynamic - fighting each other and moving around
@@italianspartacus yea im just thinking how much leveling one could do while just farming out of a set base area. Like picking a base camp and not taking quests until you need to. 😁
I'm pretty sure there are pawn specific vocations
From everything I've seen there aren't. But THEY Can be advanced vocations!
Been ready for upwards of 8 years
Did you do a roll as fighter? I thought only thieves could dodge roll?
It's a part of hindsight slash.
My body is ready
HNNNGGGGG
It's not your body that should be ready, but your eyes. That framerate is going to truly test your cognitive limits. How much can we truly perceive in 15fps? How well can we adjust to soundspeed attacks when our vision shifts from 28fps to 7fps and then back to 16fps within the span of 0,2 seconds? I daresay any man that managed to complete this game will be capable of becoming a fighter pilot due to having their cognitive and anti-whiplash abilities improved astronomically.
the basic vocations are just as viable as the others from what I hear
Probs gonna wait until I get my beefy pc don’t like the idea of 30 fps and a confirmed they won’t bring a performance mode for consoles
Honestly ff7 rebirth in graphics mode at 30 felt great but yeah pc is the way
@@wolfhowllionheart9367 just have to wait and see I guess
Yeah for sure man but I'll be honest, the 30fps on console doesn't look bad at all. They did a console showcase and it was buttery
@@italianspartacus some said it wasn't buttery. I wanna see some pc gameplay.
Subscribed for your Australian Shepherds.
Roman appreciates that!! (that's his name)
I can’t find the demo on ps5, does anyone knows where it is?
I had to go to the PlayStation website. Download it from there, then it'll show in your library on your PS5.
MY BODY IS READY! EAT MY HEART OUT!.. literally even.. 🤣
Ye no the character progression section was how it worked in the first game, not the second
Bro I've been prepared for 12 years
I just wanna play tank so my lil pawn dudes can be safe
I've been prepared for 12 years.
My excitement is uncontainable
HNNNGGGGG
I have been ready since 2014, let's fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuucking gooooooooooooooooooo!
Hell I even bought a new card for this lol
IF YOU STAY READY YOU AINT GOTTA GET READY
Yea I'm ready I've been playing ff7 rebirth since launch and dam what a game but I've been waiting to play this game just as bad 😂
Can someone please tell me why this title is $100 on Steam is it just for pre-purchase or is it going to be a hundred dollars when it comes out
The trickster looks very unique
Yeah censer slamming folk
I've only been playing on the base PS4 for the past week choosing very poorly optimized games that run in 20-25fps like Bloodborne just to train my eyes for this game's framerate so I can actually enjoy my purchase. I am so ready!
I'm not prepared, I need to upgrade my PC first.
Looks interesting but not my type of game, BUT, of course maybe your content and streams will sway me!
Yeah pop into some streams next week!!
Yo can also be an elf. You need to change the ears on the human type
Your stats are not going to level based on the vocations you are playing at the time of level up. Instead you will gain access to more skills within a vocation you level up. If you swap vocations your character's stats will adapt to the vocation you swapped to. This isn't like dragons dogma 1. You just unlock more skills with the vocation as you level that specific vocation up. Also, your pawns aren't stuck to just the main four vocations. Pawns can also be warriors or sorcerers they just can't be any of the hybrid vocations, and warrior isn't necessarily the advanced version of fighter. It's not a better or advanced vacation. It is just a different flavor of combat. All vocations are their own thing and you can go through the game just fine as a party filled with the starting 4 vocations.
Thanks for keeping me. Honest bro bro! :)
@@italianspartacus No worries. Just wanted to share what I've seen that maybe you haven't yet. Iron sharpens iron.
100% I have another video out tomorrow where ei correct a lot of this stuff. There's SO MUCH information and it's from conflicting dates so it's been an issue trying to parse it
@@italianspartacus Completely understandable brother. I heard you watch FC. I would recommend Rurikhan as well. He has put out a lot of quick videos going over some points that might assist you as well. Love the videos can't wait for more.
I just hope pawns level up as they stay with you unlike the first one
It SEEMS that way but I'm not sure
It'll be just like the last one, as in you will have a main pawn that will level up with you while the other two will stay at the level you picked them up. So after every 5-10 levels you'll need to switch them out for ones that are your current level.
@@quietkeeler4397 aw that's unfortunate that feels like the weak point so far in the first one to my wife and I
@@andrebenoit404Well every pawn has their knowledge depending on what the arisen that let you borrow his pawn did. So it will be kinda helpful to change them from time to time. I kinda like that from the first game, it is a way to see new faces.
@@draugr121 I'd be more okay with that if it didn't take so long for me to find a pawn that isn't a joke/troll pawn lol. But it was like sifting through garbage looking for a decent pawn.
ItalianSpartacus: …if all this information isn’t interesting to you feel free to close the video
Me: lol I’m not even gonna play this game I’m here for your chill voice
Enjoy my asmr bby 😘
Does minmax a thing in dd2?
People will min max grocery shopping
Not in the same way, no
Stats are tied to your current vocation.
So if you went 10 levels as a fighter and swap to mage, you'll get the stats of a lvl 10 mage, swap to thief, stats of lvl 10 thief, etc.
Dont have to level specific vocations for specific stat lines.
Stats aren’t tied to vocations now. So you can level up with whatever vocation you want without it messing up your stats for the other vocations
im upgrading my ram for this game
so.... my main question would be, can I play it co-op or not?
Not likely. In the first game there was a focus on borrowing your friend's Pawns to fill out your party. This game seems to have a focus on that as well. Steam page says single player as well.
Nope, single player only. You'll be able to use other players' pawns in your party however
Unfortunately not which I think is a huge miss :(
Is this worth getting on PC?
It is in fact only worth getting on PC. The PS5 and Xbox X versions will run at 20-30fps at best.
I'm ready to build my harem😂😂
I cancelled my preorder so I am prepared.
I will actually be very sad if there is no Mystic Knight, its my favorite vocation and the only one I really want to play.
There isn't. Magic spear hand is what it's called now. And it's a spear instead of swords
Bro my man sparty. I miss you doing wh3 stuff. Come back!
Hahaha I'd need some cool DLC that I'm excited for to do that!
@italianspartacus thrones coming "soon" man! The emperor demands it
Whilst this is great I’ve still not finished BG3 yet 😅
Not prepared for 30fps...
Ughhhh I want it......
Put it in me
Are you ready for this? ….. ba da da da dum dum dada dada dum dum dum ba da dada
Hahahahah
You see that's what bothers me. The fighter has two classes that feel like they fit into a similar evolutionary archetype in the mystic spearhand and the warrior. The archer has the magic archer, and the mage has the sorcerer. But the class I wanted to have something cool LIKE THAT to look forward to beyond the sneaky-stabby guy, didn't. And it feels so disappointing.
Are you referring to the Trickster?? I dunno.. I know it's not sneaky stabby but it's so unique!!
@@italianspartacusI was referring to thief not having another vocation that aesthetically or thematically branches off from it like warrior/mystic spearhand does for fighter, or like sorcerer does for mage.
I'm ready but my wallet seems hesitate.
Hahahahaha
i cant make my pawn a warrior?
You can! I miss poke
@@italianspartacus oh that's good, and thanks for the clarification .
I know everyone is really hype about DD2 but I’m really on the fence. The combat doesn’t have me sold
You need to get it in your hands, despite what everyone's saying, combat feels like a super fun capcom game
it already sucked in the first game that pawns couldnt do hybrid vocations..it would suck even more of they decided to make pawns worse and take away advanced vocations.
Why did strider get split into archer and rogue?
They CAN use advanced vocations. I misspoke :)
@@italianspartacus oh ty, thats good at least
Actually some of the vocations in this game have NO advanced version because there only 10 in this game (they confirmed it in an interview) . An archer will always be just an archer there is no advanced version, A theif will always. Be just a
Theif ect . Thats one thing I dont like about this game as opposed to DD1
30fps in 2024? It was unacceptable for Starfield and it's still unacceptable.
So as hyped as I was for the game: sadly nope. I'm not ready or even playing.
i tihnk people wanting to buy this gam,e need to temper their expectations because this game is not gonna hold your hand
✝️ Subbed! God bless in 2024! ✝️
🙏
Asmongold isn't prepared lmao
dragons dogma 2. another game that will keep 90% of the players locked on character creation the first 1-2 years! lol
Hahahahah at least they can make their characters NOW
Looks neat but no interest in this one, going back to spreading Managed Democracy!
LIBERTY WILL SEE THE RISE OF SOME NEW ENEMIES SOON
I’m anticipating this game but No fast travel, 1 save slot, locked 30fps has me a bit worried. Not only that but the explanation for no fast travel is complete BS, I’d rather them outright say “oh we can’t work it in properly” than “games have fast travel because there’s nothing to do in between the objective”.
I wouldn't worry about 30fps! Elden ring and the majority of the other soulsborne games aren't at 30fps and it's different with the larger screen we play consoles on!
@@italianspartacus I stand corrected, I just started playing the 1st one for the first time and can truly say that I was in fact wrong the way that they handle the fast travel is pretty good the only complaint I really have is that I hate the frequent packs of wolves, they provide little to no XP and are too frequent. At the beginning of the game it was fine but it gets tiring really quickly and becomes a nuisance. Not only that but ferry stones are making a return in the second game. Also assuming 1 save slot isn’t as bad as I anticipated, in fact it’s not bad at all just gotta remember to save…
The game looks great but, what's the deal with Asians and mythical cat people. It's the single most immersion ruining detail in the entire game. I mean when did high fantasy require hair balls, foul smelling pee and ruined furniture. Besides a stiff upright cat kind of ruins what makes a cat interesting crouched and lithe and coiled for a strike with lethal claws and teeth . They should have a rather nasty disposition too, unless you stroke them the right way or use catnip.
It's a fantasy game with fantasy races.
Imagine getting upset that a medieval fantasy RPG game has non-humans.
@@HollowBagel I wouldnt say upset . It's just a personal preference. For an adult mythological fantasy game, I just think its out of place to have kitty kat people IMHO. Hopefully the game will be so good I wont really notice 😙
