PURCHASE THE GAME BELOW MY BROS!
Sorry for the mess up with the lower thirds of Archer/Fighter. Sometimes in the flurry of things, my brain addles and I make mistakes
ON THE NOTE OF OPTIMIZING: As I say in the video guys, you really should be playing how YOU want, not what the internet TELLS you to play. This way you're playing the game you spend $70 to play, not someone else's game. I've mentioned this now in a few comments, but RUclips is a very toxic system, where everyone has blown out of proportion titles, with clickbait thumbnails, and reaction faces in the corner. As a symptom of that, I have to make videos that follow SOME of those guidelines or else people will just choose their videos over mine, but I combat that by being upfront and letting you know the biggest take aways or what the video is within the first 2 minutes. I understand the titles can sometimes be triggering, but this is my full time job, and the only way I look myself in the mirror is by being honest about the content I deliver. I apologize if that frustrates you, it's just the unfortunate circumstance of almost all content and media these days that I try to combat within a toxic system.

Hey y’all, if you didnt play the first game I recommend just playing around with team comps on your own. Don’t try to hyper optimize or “meta” this game. You will be taking away from your own fun. It’s not going to be brutally difficult, and you will be fine playing anyway you want. If you did play the first game, then you probably already understand what makes a good team setup

Exactly I’ve never played Dogma but I’ve been seeing a lot tubers talk about what’s the best “Team” for the game smh just do what you want it’s A RPG so create your own backstory for your characters and pawns and immerse your self in the game and have fun 🤩

100% my dude!! Which is what I open up with in this video. Finding the meta for everything is boring because you just end up playing SOMEONE ELSE'S game. Play how you want, fuck the rest. The only concrete tip I recommend is play with a mage, the rest is so situational and dependent on the type of party you want or what have you!

There was a time when there was a 4th member of the Big Boys Club, in addition to Tank, Healer and DPS. That was Crowd Control (or CC.) You don't see that as often in games anymore, even MMO's where they really shone. That's what has me intrigued about the Trickster, it's the closest thing we have seen to a support/CC class in a modern game in quite a while.
That said, my initial party makeup will probably be the following: my character will likely go from Archer to Magic Archer, as I enjoy plinking away at a distance. Main Pawn is an absolute unit of a Beastren, who is my "walking wall" of a Tank. I'll hire a Mage for heals, and another DPS (looking hard at Thief.) That should at least get me through to where I can locate my MA Meister and start down that path. I might swap to Warrior for my Main Pawn in the hope that he can still hold his own and keep aggro up front.
Down the line, yes...I would like to try out the Trickster just to see if it's viable, but I'll have to rethink my whole team makeup at that point, so stay tuned.

My go to is fighter pawn from the rift making sure they’re set up as a tank with provocation and shield summon, my main pawn is a sorcerer with meteor equipped (u get it from finishing spellbound quest, GET IT if you don’t have it!!), mage from the rift making sure they have mostly healing and buffing abilities set up when picking one out, and then I usually play as mystic spear putting the invincibility bubble on everybody as much as I can and sapping stamina as soon as I run out or sometimes I play as magic archer just for fun and extra healing/revival. I can really be about any vocation with that setup and it’s easy mode as long as everybody’s stats look good (good weapons and armor equipped. ALWAYS compare pawn’s stats and skills equipped when picking one out). If they don’t have fighters set up like tanks and mages set up like white mage/healer/buffers, they’re playing the game wrong. If someone managed to transfer the provocation augment to a warrior, they can make awesome tanks as well, but unfortunately they don’t have shield summons or whatever the advanced form of shield summons is called…

Magick archer (me)/Magic spinny spear boi
    melee DPS, so warrior
    Mage
Sorc/Archer depending on if you can run sorc pawn. only need one melee IMO, the rest you want to be avoiding damage instead of tanking it. Warrior seems to be able to give and take damage, so whilst not pure tank, its enough.

I originally wanted to start as fighter and have my main pawn be mage, BUT the more I realize how important Mage is early game and how I want to make sure that vocation is pumping at max efficiency, I think I’m going to swap and be mage with my main pawn as fighter. Controlling the heals (topping off when not in combat), supporting dps, and boosting fighter pawn with weapon enchants to exploit enemy weaknesses (will help the fighter pawn dps) sounds like something I could manage MUCH better than AI could. Leave the simple shield taunt mechanics to the pawn AI. For hired pawns I’m thinking Sorc as 3rd for big dps that I can help cast faster as mage and then an archer as the 4th. Let the AI handle all the targeting and big ranged DPS. Also seems like in every game I’ve played, range DPS always tends to advantage in most scenarios, especially when enemies are mobile or big. Why climb up something when you can just shoot it down from where you stand?

I do enjoy playing a Necromancer in as many games as I can so was thinking I could maintain that “Main Character” feel if I think of me being Mage as being the Necromancer that controls my main pawn “skeleton warrior”. Then maybe as game goes on and maybe healing is less demanding I can switch to Warfarer and heal/buff as mage staff when needed but be more of a “Death Knight” when I buff myself and get out the Great Sword.

Mage healing is nice, but curatives exist. Their biggest contribution is often the elemental weapon enchantments they can dish out. Being able to control which buffs your mage is casting is one of the biggest reasons I think having your mage be either your Arisen or main pawn makes a lot of sense. Fighting skeletons, bring fire. Armored enemies, bring lightning, etc. If you only hire mage pawns you'll need to fully replace them to get a mage with different abilities and spells.

From what I have used since day one of DD1, a great combo is a Warrior, mage, sorcerer and-
Of course, *mystic knight* 😵‍💫 (I’ll never not be upset that you can’t be one in DD2…)
Warrior for the main pawn, always be sure to train your pawn AS a warrior so they aren’t just spamming one ability over and over. I should also advise that you not use single-target brutal damage skills for your pawn! Makes them utterly useless!
A mage in the party, of course, since anodyne is a MUST! Coupled with quick casts and at least *one* weapon enchant.
Sorcerer for those bigger, slower casts that can do big damage against monsters much more quickly than base damage with blades. For the endgame Arisen, you know full well that *Voidspell* is needed if you’re not one for carrying a butt ton of curatives 💀
Guess I’ll have to switch to fighter from now on, since it’s a blend of MK and fighter now 😩

So Archer Pawn for me, As i hope it be easy to rent him out and start getting crystal.
I am going to hire a Fighter & Mage early game.
My end goal is Warfarer, And use a Magic spear for Spearhand skill, Magic bow for Magic Bow skill, And not sure for the 3 weapon for last vocations skill to able to use.
Dont care about Warfarer do a bit less damage, I love the idea of 3 different vocations skill i can change between in fights.
Main pawn mid to endgame is going to be Mage or Sorcerer.
If the game become like first one.
Then mid to endgame my party going to be 1 mage and 2 Sorcerer.

I was alway more a fast/dodge than a slow/block kind of guy, even in soulslikes (Bloodborne ftw!). but I just can't see the thief as the most effective class in this game.

I’m 100% playing trickster. The idea of a support class in a single player game is too interesting to not at least try. I only hope that it’s better than JUST tricking people off of ledges and I hope it can heal so I don’t feel the need to bring a mage over a sorc.

I feel it's kind of a misundersranding personally. Mages have support skills, but unless they were changed more than i realized, theyre still going to be slinging fireballs and lightning.
In others news, I love playing casters, so our fighter pawns might be a bit more niche until people get more time to learn the game.

Here is a bit of a note about the warrior.
It's kind of similar to the barbarian class in Baldur's Gate 3. They use heavy weapons, hit really hard, and they can actually swing through enemy attacks. Warriors are very beastly in a fight, but ultimately it's not mandatory to have one around.
I'll be running an Archer, Mage, Fighter/Warrior, and sorcerer at first. This mirrors my party in Dragon's Dogma right now.

The worst part of the save system and it's a big issue huge.if you make a lot of progress with quick save and you die but you accidentally load the regular save you can not then reload ur last quick save.this can cause you to lose hours of grind and it's absolutely soul destroying.its really quite horrible.

i hate the current culture there is around videogames and optimizing, and going meta, and watching a video called "THE BEST Party Comp on Day 1 for Dragon’s Dogma 2" to know what to run in the game instead of just like
    playing it

    • @italianspartacus
      @italianspartacus  2 месяца назад +1

Which is what I say in the video :) my channel is geared towards trying dismantle that bullshit play by the meta style of gameplay. I unfortunately though have to play a toxic game with RUclips algorithms that require me to use certain unsavory tactics to get views because the person above and below my video has way worse hyperbole. I combat this by telling you the entire gist of the video in thr first two minutes. In this video, I outright tell you not to watch if the game has been out, and Secondly, I encourage you to play the party YOU want because that's how you'll enjoy the game the most. I understand where you're coming from but this is my full time job and I live within a toxic system that operates under hyperbole and half truths, this is how I navigate it

  • @dootdootington386
    @dootdootington386 2 месяца назад +1

Since were sharing party comps. Mine will be
    Mage(me), Warrior, Thief, Thief.
But if thiefs dont actually steal as much as i assume from what ive heard.
    Sorcerer, Fighter/Warrior, Archer, Mage.
Literally no interest in thieves unless they can help me make some easy money or extra mats. And more money and mats is far more important than my two backup pawns in the early game. For me. Not for you guys. You do what you want.
