    Imagine the noise, heat and exhileration being on the footplate of the "Mallard" when it achieved the world steam railway speed record of 126 mph (203 km/h) in 1938? The A4s had to run significantly above 90 mph (140 km/h) just to keep schedule on trains such as the Silver Jubilee and The Coronation. Neither the driver or stoker had a seat.

      @@davidholder3207 certainly a different time to now. The job of the driver back then was very different to what we experience now. 👍😀

    Interesting that that there's no speed restriction on those passive crossings as seems to be the case elsewhere for Vlocities.

    • @driver667
      @driver667  24 дня назад

      @@emdB67 it depends on the type of traffic that uses the crossing and the angle of the crossing among other things. 🤔👍😀

    (bad joke for old people like me) 7:10 Site of Dobie. Further down the line, the Site of Zelda and the Site of Maynard.🤣🤣🤣

      Not surpised. Some things exist for ages. and then a government department needs a name, usually there is some local input.
      There is a lane near my house, it has been there since the gold rush, but only 20 years ago it actually got a name. Melody Lane due to a well know piano teacher that had lived near by
