If you ask me, War Thunders events have always been something cool; just by playing the game you could unlock up to four exclusive vehicles. Granted, some of these events where very grindy, so much so that getting all four vehicles at once was something only the hardcore grinders could achieve.
Gaijin just announced that from now on, these events will never be the same again; instead of having massive seasonal marathons, there will now be a vehicle to grind throughout most weeks of the year. Is this a good change? Maybe… But it seems a lot like there is more to the story.
Yeah I'm fine with the other changes, but the change to 750K is excessive.

I;m in a pretty similar boat, I do think that 45k is a bit much for two days especially when you take into account the modifiers for what tier vehicles you play. The change to 750k for the coupon is completely insane and most people probably won't be able to reach that unless they no life WT. Overall I do like the concept of more smaller events and one big one as long as the vehicles are full copy paste, or a "unique" vehicle that get's add to a tech tree than the country of orgin later for free (I'm looking at you M8 Greyhound.)

War thunder sees player spikes during events and sees people only get one vehicle. So they do this. They don’t want people to easily get high rank vehicles because people will not spend as much money on ge. That’s why its so many mission points

In order to being capable of selling the vehicle you need to do 41.500 points per day, it's crazy.
Imagine a market flooded with vehicles, this is a requirement to maintain a healthy market
So 30 ish games a day. Let's say you spend on average 17 min per game. That's 8.5 hours everyday lmao. Fuck that. xD

Old vechicles can cost 200 to 2000 dollars and idk about you but i think these prices are ridiculous. The 20k score per day is already insane, its sad that the events intentions isn't to keep the playercount up but to squeeze money from the whales. 45k score/day is just a bad joke.

i mean technically they do, if you do end up getting it and getting the selleable version and wait some time you can potentially sell it for 200 gjn after 2 years (1gjn = 1 euro), if you wait even longer then its guaranteed to be higher.

hacked accounts and botting accounts are going to become a much more prominent issue. I think the nonstop events might actually kill the game.
Also, people who do other things, such as school, cant get most event vehicles anymore, which sucks because it used to be that the events ended up being on Christmas break, winter break, and over the summer, but now that is no longer the case.
The missions where you had to grind hours every day for a random chance of getting enough items to unlock the reward were brutal. If you had the entire month off and nothing better to do, sure.

ive never gotten an event vehicle because my life is too busy, in a way its nice to be able to get an event vehicle easier, i dont really care for selling a vehicle, i played this game before the gaijin market even existed, so not really too upset with the crazy point cost
750K for a sale coupon is insane though.
They want you to either grind the vehicle only and not be able to sell it, or GE it. They are not making it impossible to get Gaijin coins, but they are telling you to just GE it, or buy the coins from them. These vehicles will be super rare on the market because nobody has the time for 750.000 points. Meaning it will always be cheaper to just buy GE than market. That wasn't true for recent events. Vilkas was cheaper on the market than its weight in GE. They are making this near impossible to happen again.
I like these new changes, we have a breathing room now.
But to get the tradable coupon change is kinda bad.

What breathing room? I play enlisted, those event's aren't breathing room, it's an endless fomo treadmill of daily grind. And the back to back to back events really quickly start bloating the game with weird stuff, as they have to keep finding more obscure and increasingly made up weapons

Their excuse to increase +5K was because it was a high tier, and we already have the event that give you the M2K S4, top tier aircraft for 40K, and top of that shit, there are the 750K points... in the same amount of time as previews event.

I never did any single event and I'm playing this game from the beginning,events in this game always been bad and ridiculously time consuming
Pros: separate events for different vehicles, cons: more grind. I think these changes are due to the huge number of bots.
If Gaijin doesn't introduces any anti-cheat changes, I think the events will require more and more grinding. I currently don't have time to make 3 vehicles at the same time.
The biggest downside, or probably the most insulting to players, is the sliding points requirement. With Gaijin making the more desirable vehicles harder to obtain for people who have lives outside of the game means that more people will have to spend money to obtain it, even more so than with the current events. The insulting part is that Gaijin clearly things that we as players wouldn't realize this and we are back to 5 years ago and Gaijin publicly stating that their players are too stupid to understand their data.
As a player who barely have time i would like to have events like int WTM
I completely agree, I really like that they are spreading out the grind to make it easier to get what you want and removing crafting garbage. I dont like the new requirements for the coupon but I think that was their answer to removing crafting events, they want marketplace vehicles to still be rare and they clearly see a massive dip in cost for Star events. If thats the price for their removal I dont think its super bad but I dont blame anyone for being angry or upset about it in the slightest, Ive always preferred to collect event vehicles rather than selling them.
They could make it easier (20k, whatever) to get the vehicle and harder to get the coupon, would still make for a valuable market item.

as someone who is a mainstay tanker i dont mind this as much, now depending on the aircraft i might participate for the reward like if it is a F-16,F-15 variant or some other variant not in game yet like F-14D then i will do it, but i dont play ships so unless its the Mighty Mo or Lucky A, thats Missouri and Alabama BBs for those who don't know their military history or Tirpitz/Musashi i dont see myself touching the grind for the ships. As far as i see it this primarily impacts those who are completionist and want to have everything in the game.
if they were going to make it so hard to get the tradable coupon they should have at least made the required points like 30k max every 2 days rather than making it more too
To be honest it doesn't matter. Gaijin can't stop the cheating, why would I bother to keep grinding when I face players who have a stat card with 16K kills in a matter of a few days. If Gaijin can't detect that level of cheating from their own stats why trust them to run these contests fairly. To be honest the "Click Bait" M1 in the American line tells me they want people to cheat to encourage people to buy this junk. How obvious could they be when they call it "Click bait."

You are completely ignoring the fact that most players will take 6 hours a day (or more) to grind the 45k points required. And some players even spending way more time than that will not be able to complete the event. No video game should make you work for hours based on fmo.
please just stop playing war thunder. its not even fully realistic. and its not even fun (theres no war component, no soldier AI or frontline pushing, just world-of-tank free for alls)
This game turned into sh!t a few years ago already. These changes only prove it's sh!t. The grind is immense and the prices for stuff are 'a joke'. I have a life to live you know, not just WT in the house all day.
i do agree that it could possible be good to have more events i also desagree for the simple fact that its exausting as a f2p to get a single vehicle, people have lifes and you grind so much so you can unlock it, not even thinking of selling it, now you have to go through all that pain plus 5k a star and twice as much effort to sell it and on top off everything it happens more often, if you have a life that doesnt let you play wt all day you simple will not be able to mentally and phisically do this challenges
ive been playing mobile games since 2013 and this has always been the model for earning money for free. every pay to win thing plaguing modern gaming has already been in place on mobile for awhile. people only know clash of fggts when they think of mobile, they dont know real racing or modern combat4 etc. all im saying is everyone needs to be a little less surprised by it lol
I think the bigger gotchas just of the events will be going on constantly so if you leave for like a week or so then they're always going to have a semi regular cash flow, obviously it's hard to get them to be tradable, but I feel like that's where they're betting most their money on
20K per days is 2000 in one game x 10 it can be done in 2 hours, for good players with top tier line up

I remember complaining about the Sturmtiger and how 35K was too high and everyone told me it was a skill issue. The IS-2 was only 25K. It was obviously an upward trend but only now do people want to complain about how demanding the events are.

I firmly believe that this move will discourage the BOT players and or ALT account holders from exploiting the events and demand for the vehicles as they know that not everyone has the time or patience for these events. I think overall these are positive changes in the works and it needs to be looked at from a much higher scale. This more than trying to block the individuals that exploit the game but also invites more people to play at their leisure and not feel as if they must grind the game for days at a time only to receive a minimal reward. People will argue that this is to increase GE purchases but in reality if you are playing this game and have never contributed to the development or refinement of the game by buying GE or vehicles, etc. D you really feel you have any place to complain about a FTP game? Granted you have a voice but what have you actually done to help make the game better and or less grindy or whatever. Now, I'm not saying you have to do this or that but it is logical to consider that there are people "feeding the snail" who do expect changes and are upset over people exploiting the events and or abusing game mechanics, etc. Trying to saying that it is getting too much to do when you simply have to play the game is a bit ridiculous, IMO. Try other games modes or styles, this is also what I believe they want the players to do as well. However, 45k points can be achieved in one Air SIM match in a matter of 2 or 3 hours of play. It is far from being too difficult, does it take time, yes, but everything worth while takes a bit of consideration and time to complete. Rant over, I digress.

I would say that this new event system is good but how they implemented it was bad, i will not grind 8h a day for a medal. I remember that the only plane that i got from an event was super painfull and i only got it because i wasn motivated to grind the US tech tree, now i have no motivation so how would i farm something like that that needs even more points? Gaijin is nuts
i have done several of these events now wist having a 9-5 job all it requires is 2-3 hours a day which yes can be a pain but overall not bad if you are only grinding a single reward from the old event, if you want the trading token it is just equilivent to grinding 2 rewards from the old event structure

Ive seen those Events more often as...:
A - Youre unemployed, and being able to grind fulltime every day. (if you have the patience, which i have not, no way im going to play this game this excessive)
B - Youre working, not having enough time for the grind but have enough Money to just buy the Stars/Points.
i quiet Planes long time before, im only more into tanks, but i think personally this game is waaaay too monotonous to grind this much points in this given time frame.
In the end for me those "Events" feel like.... You want it? Then Buy it!, made up as some "Event", where you "could" grind it, if you wanna spend half your life into this game.
Solution for me is that if you really want the vehicule, don't grind it but buy it when everyone is selling it at low price
To be honest, I think free to play games shouldn't be "free to play". I think free to play games should in one way or another have a entry fee for almost every player EVENTUALLY unless you REALLY enjoy the game. Cause if you don't it puts the burden on "pay to play/win" players to maintain the live service. I think this is ultimately a good change from what I understand as I enjoy this game a lot. Hopefully they just don't go too overboard.
This is fair, but on the other hand: selling a vehicle on the marketplace means that at the end of the day, somebody is paying. Sure, that one F2P player might not have, but somebody at some point must have bought GJN.

and for what im feeling, you cant neither buy it with GE, which would be dumb yea but if you sold the previous event vehicle you easily had enough gaijin coins to buy GE and therefore buy the starts away, but now you only can waste half a month for ONE vehicle

They are bringing more events because the rich pay real money to skip the event goals and just get the vehicle.

Yeah that's just not true.
A single match in War Thunder lasts 15 minutes on AVERAGE. A single match makes a tiny (if at all) dent in ONE of the SEVERAL task requirements 90% of the time.
Those maths don't add up... but the more i reveal facts the more it reveals about you if you are saying "it's easy"...
I would think very carefully before replying again... especially being it's proven most Event vehicles owned are in someway purchased with real money the last 2 years... you know also proven by the fact that Gaijin (one of the greediest developers in existence) are encouraging more events...

That was just an estimate, and i just did the maths. Here’s the calculations i did, it’s a copy paste of a section of another comment of mine;
My avg GRB score for last month is ~2500, there’s a x1.33 multiplier for GRB iirc, and additional multipliers for higher ranks, but let’s just disregard them for now. The time frame is over 18 days. 45000*8=360000. 360000/1.34=269000. 269000/2500=108. (Lets say battles a a little longer on avg just for the sake of argument, 18mins) 18*108=1944. 1944/60=32.4 (32hr24min). 32.4/18=1.8hr (1 hr 48min).
So that came out to just under 1 hour 50 minutes per day, NOT including multipliers for higher tiers. So yeah, a little over my initial guess, but It’s probably about 3hr while spamming out tier. Which is more in line with my experience in grinding out the most recent crafting event, that was about ~6 hours of top tier for 75k iirc.

I hope that they AT THE VERY LEAST, extend the time between events, because we will be grinding non stop for like 20 days without a break, at least give us a big time to rest and ease off our minds in another game.

I actually hate that the crafting events are gone. I used to abuse them to get anywhere between 60-180gjn on the marketplace. I haven't bought anything with real money on WT in like 3+ years because of these events.

Events have been going down the slope for last 2 years. Before this shit show u have 12 stars with the tenth u can get coupon so u can take a break up to 4 days then they made it 10 star so if u miss 1 star u can't get tradable coupon and now they make u grind double effort to get the tradable coupon 😤

Can we just bring back the old events where you have to do 5 out of the 7 task every 2 days... like the cap 10 points, help kill an enemy 30 times, drop ____ tons of TNT... THOSE are the events i miss. If you were good at the game it was like 2 hours of grinding every 2 days, if you were worse it took slightly longer... the 30-40k (not sure the exact number) every 2 days is insane and anyone with a full time job or school can do that.

I guess I only have 3 claims
1.st the mission score is toooo high. I was a bigger fan of old style quests, but I would be ok with 30-35k points.
2.nd top tier event vehicles - this is a highly subjective claim. I don't really like the top tier that much, and I think that as it is now, the vehicles are not interesting enough (we have what like 4 event t80s?) This winter event I didn't even bother to play. Instead I re joined wotblitz. I would be more happy for low tier premium WW2 Era vehicles. That's the reason why I liked the Sturm tiger and tog events more than any of the year. Also one thing I noticed is, how gaijin is systematically putting less and less interesting low tier rewards into events. Battle pass is the best way to show it.
And last thing: only interesting events in the entire year are April fool's and anniversary. Again highly subjective, but I think they are the only ones with any flavour left.
Yeah 45k points is obscene. Especially for people who only have t3 tanks or god forbid like arcade mode. Get penalized TWICE on getting credit for your points.

If you make markiet place and give stuff for free so you can make profit from it but in the end ppl sell the stuff in the markiet and buy whatever they need like premium acc and premium vechicles they should don't complane about it to the players base they are greedy and backfire on them

I wasn't able to finish some of the recent events I tried to participate in (Japanese WW2 guided missile one for example) because I have a life now, I am married, I have a job, I am not a no-life-teenager anymore like I was when I ground out the IS-7. I kinda want war Thunder to keep being a part of my life but war Thunder's events definitely aren't going to be anymore
What most of these games designers end up forgetting, is the majority of players are free players. Sure, the premium players support it monetarily, but they play in a sea of free players. the game is VERY boring when those players leave because they feel gated. Classic example of this is Foxhole. I get monetisation, I don't like it, but I get it... but never forget your game lives and breathes on volume of players. Don't forget your free players.

Good. Players being able to sell things for "digital currencies" is just NFT Scams that somehow we've accepted. Things you earn should be earned for the pleasure of earning them, not for some meta economy.
The one thing I hate about this and the other events, is that there is a cap on your progress during the event.
Every 2 days you have to play to get the vehicle, instead of just having to earn 45.000/750.000 within the entire event.
I had surgery the 1. of february and just now I'm starting to feel like playing computer again, but its too late for me to grind the stars now.
Oh, and the funny thing? You can already grind the coupon for sale in one go, but you can't grind the vehicle in itself in one go.
I guess War Thunder will be just printing event vehicles on their own developer accounts just like before with crafting events where somehow part that could be only gained in second or third day of event because of limits of drop per day somehow people were selling for riddiculess amount of money.
1. They want less people to simple gain gaijins for free.
2. They propably want higher monopol on market. Or they want more "active" players on stats just too look better than other games i assume.
Also something else to mention. I frequently get aces in the mig23ml. But the f4s, barely any games with more than 2 kills. Honestly the IR missiles are what makes the 23ml good but they carry it further than any aspect of the f4s and it’s making new America players suffer
honestly i don't see the good thing about getting an event almost for a year with just 3 days of rest between every event, that's just pain, if u want to get the vehicles u will need to play almost non stop for a year, if u want to get the vehicles paying well too bad, they will be way much more expensive in the market because of the 750k points required to sell the vehicle, this change is completely garbage and the player base will definitely end up burned from these events, and of course they need to increase again the minimum points requiered to get 1 star from 40k to 45k just to make it even more difficult, and this time with less rewards (no low tier vehicle). It's just bullshit this feels like a job rn and idk how people can say this is a good change.
750,000 to sell the vehicle is kinda insane.
The event itself has been easy, every two days..45k rlly hasnt been a major issue. But that + if you want to sell it? thats a rough patch.
They are preventing F2P players from selling event vehicles with the coupon, yeah probably it will sell for more but how many people will buy it? Will it be better to just pay for the marks of distinction or buying it from the market?
Any person who actually has a life (me included) could never even hope to do gaijin's events. The grind is beyond unreasonable and ridiculous. Nothing will really change after these updates
Even the 22.5K points per day only for the vehicle itself is excessive. They turn the game into a job, so you have to be as efficient as possible. Every time one of these events happens half the community starts employing the rattiest tactics known to man and turns entire BRs into straight up cancer.
I loathe to give 343 anything, i hate that company, but even their incompetent asses do better events than gaijin. Hell, halo infinite battle passes are a dream compared to the shit gaijin keeps feeding its community.

To be honest, it is Gaijin we're talking about. Changing the game for the better isn't really a speciality of theirs to begin with.
Remember that we quite literally had to unionize and go to war with them before they started implementing positive change to the game. It does make sense that they would inevitably start to change the game for the worse again. That's always been Gaijin's modus operandi to monetize the pain-points of the game.

Total clickbait video, so you are mad that the most hated game event gets removed and replaced with continuous events, and in ~3 weeks ppl need to get 750.000 points, so instead of 3 separate grinds now ppl will do one, this video is an L take, less event vehicles in one means ppl can choose to do them instead of having to do 3 game modes for a total of 1.200.000
I completely agree with you, the truth is I have not seen anyone speak and think the same as I do. The only thing was the construction events, that yes, they were incomprehensible, but what was good about those events was mainly to be able to get a few Gaijin Coins, which were very useful after 3 or 4 events of this type to be able to buy a little something ... That benefited people who can't play 3 hours at a time to this game...
It would be nice if they could find a way to replace that.
At this point of story we all should've learned that even Gaijin changes something for "good", they will manage to cuck the player base in another way.
Why are people still playing? Every second month i get videos in recommended about gaijin changes smthng for the worse, i am starting to believe yt wt creators and their audience are nailed to the game cause of how much money they sunk into it.
You all are domesticated livestock, the blame is on the capitalist urge to turn everything into highest possible profit but the guys generating traffic for them or players who complain like its a core gameplay experience need to take some responsibility and have some discipline.

otherwise they should keep 40k or less system and would be incredible if they did it that you can grind infinite points per day on all of the achivements or how to call it. so if ur doing grb for ground vehicle you can grind like 120k in a day but you will have either less time or more points needed. it's really annoying having to do the same boring grind every 2 days and even worse if something gets in the way
its not just events, with constant events, we will start to see less and less cool additions to the TT

Stupidly high point requirements for tanks let alone coupons and continuous grind is aids. Events ruin matches often, now they are permanent.
i grind vehicles to play them, i did not necessary need the is7, but the object 279 it is great, would never sell that, the is7, probably yes if i could go back in time, but that thing was also one hell of a grind, i think i did only sleep like 4 hours a day at the time.
no ones mentioning it, but 35k score is a shit load if the event vehicle is a low tier reward, whos gonna want that?! 350,000 mission score for a rank 4? no thanks.
I had to start on day two of a cycle cuz I was out with my girlfriend and I have a life the first day, and I grinded 37k in a night but it was for nothing. I picked my health and went to bed and then it’s right back to the grind. This shit is ridiiiiculous
