I have a friend working with a MNC in Pharmacovigilance with MBBS Degree only. As per his personal experience, there is No additional advantage for doing MD pharmacology. Degree doesn’t really matter much if u got the job. Work pressure is high as it isn’t anything about being a Doctor and u r answerable to ur manager just like software desktop job. He is making about 15-16 lakhs per annum with hike at 10%+ per annum.

MD pharmacology is DEAD because now even BDS, MD PHYSIOLOGY, MD BIOCHEM,MD ANATOMY people are being taken in pharma company in place of medical advisor , same as md pharma . So no special thing in md pharma now. Also salaries are 6 LPA AND IN HAND IS JUST 35-40K PER MONTH plus insane working hours, tons of travel. No family time for wife. Speaking from personal experience in top pharma company of 3 years now.

@@Curious96 Hi, Private practice depends on your clinical skills and judgement. Pharmacology per se does not add much to your expertise apart from knowing the mechanism of drug action, drug interactions and best medicine for a particular disease. However, clinical practice is all about taking proper history, relevant clinical examination and investigations to reach provisional diagnosis. Once you achieve these objectives successfully, treatment plan is not that difficult. Hope that answers your action.

You need MBBS degree for doing MD pharmacology. But you can still get into various fields after B pharma
Yes ofcourse you joined in m pharm in pharmacology pg course and become a equivalent position as compared to, a md in pharmacology
