Great to know your DNB story! 😊
I have a genuine doubt though.. Since you are right now in a private, corporate hospital, the patients tend to be more sophisticated, do the majority of patients allow you to examine them/operate them?
Is it like they are very particular that only the consultant should examine them?
But in a medical college, the scenario is different right, usually the PGs have an upper hand, and the patients do not tend to question much regarding who does the procedures.

    • @notjustadoctor
      @notjustadoctor  Год назад +36

Thank you so much for this question. Now it depends on which hospital you have chosen to do your DNB from some DNB institutes are really great and have a lot of exposure and hands-on experience. Whereas some DNBS do not offer the same. now, the hospital where I am is a corporate hospital but it does have a lot of government schemes. So patients comes from all sorts of backgrounds. So there is a lot to learn and a variety of cases as well as hands-on and exposure.

dnb has very low passing rates and there is so much saturation in every branch and specialities😊,dnb has to struggle more in passing😊if possible go only for md or ms, on of my frnd is pursuing dnb radio and its his 3rd year in which he still to pass to get license ,😊

Great to see what i went through when i choose DNB medicine in my fresh attempt in 2017. Everyone was apprehensive about exposure teaching pass rate. Bt i took it because of dream branch and accepting all pros and cons. now its 2023 i completed my DM NEUROLOGY. So go for it if u r passionate about something irrespective of Dnb/md . Ur hard work will ultimately pay off. Anyways all the best 😊

Hi Rujuta! Could relate to you a lot in this video.I had a rank of 5204 in NEET PG 2023 and I’ve taken DNB Medicine from Breach Candy Hospital in Mumbai and you’re absolutely on point that DNB Medicine from a Great and Prestigious Hospital is far more better than even MD in tier 2,3 cities! I am extremely happy and there is no toxicity and great academics! So if anyone has 2nd thoughts about DNB medicine please go for it.

MS is always always better than DNB
    1. DNB entry easier on lower ranks but exit is tough as exam centre is in other states. External examiner, patients from different states
    2. Even today MS is preferred over DNBs in private sectors or in post of faculties of govt sectors
    3. MS more popular degree than DNB in public in case of PP (metro cities or periphery)
    4. More self satisfaction in having MS degree than DNB
    5. MS in govt college have better exposures independently and more to learn as govt college have variety of patients and more work load.
If not getting your dream branch than better to go for DNB but if same branch you get as MD/MS....Always always prefer MD/MS

The seats are too limited in my field to secure a seat and eventually I had to take a drop year and again go back studying for the entrance. I did my dnb from a corporate hospital, never regretted for a day. You have to do your research while picking up the institution, the best way is to talk to the residents in that hospital. The advantage that I felt was not only I got to do the routine procedures which are done every where ( lscs, dnc, bartholin etc) I also got to do and assist in the procedures that others pay hefty amount to learn after their MS, like laparoscopy (TLH) and Hysteroscopy were routinely done.

Hello. Thanks for sharing this. Since you’ve told that you did a research of the colleges in Maharashtra, can you tell me how is DNB OBGY at RGMC & CSH Thane?

Hello Rujuta ma'am, been following you since a long time.
I've secured a rank of 4852 this neet pg. I wanted to know about DNB Radio like what's the pt load, toxicity, modalities available, usg hands on and academics. I want to pursue radio diagnosis but it would be difficult for me to get MD radio in govt college so I'm thinking abiut DNB Radio. I would be very grateful.
