- How To bring to your Discovery 3 LR3 up to date with some homemade, customised OEM headlights!
You'll need a few basic tools and electrical tools;
Screwdrivers - Flat & Philips
Bitumen Headlight Seal
Wire Cutter/Strippers
Means of joining wires
DRL's of your choice
Don't hesitate to ask any questions!

Hi mate. What size led strip do you use? Thinking of ordering 5mm wide led strip to fir into mine.
Would you sell a wiring kit? Pretty neat job I thought. I’m confident on splitting etc. have you tried an all black version? Massive improvement.

I haven’t for a while but I can do. I believe I still have a listing on Facebook marketplace.
Any links to the connectors that plug into the back of the light units and run through to fuse box and ground? Also any link to led rope you used too.
I’ll try and find the ones I used but they’re are generic waterproof 2 pin connectors mate. Should be plenty online popping up

I don't even own a landrover, but great Video. Headlight polyurethane is tough stuff. It's like the Scottish version of LR Time.
Top tip for viewer's Don't use white spirit as a surface cleaner as it's an oil based

I’d have tried an adhesion promoter as a first coat. And masked the indicator side
These turned out well but I’ll consider that for the next set. If you try it, let me know how it goes.

Would these be an mot failure unless you used switch back leds and connected them to the indicators
I’m not sure what the letter of the law is on MOTs for DRL’s unfortunately.
Hi, do you have any videos of them working in a car, and how much for a set in silver, as the car is silver, if that works ?
Also are they plug and play etc

Not sure of what videos I have but the video shows them working at the end with my own set fitted to the car and the photos.
Would you mean left chrome when you say silver? Price would be the same - one eBay and Marketplace - as the paint is pennies. I’m actually considering a silver set for my new D3 project.

Can you link the LED rope you used? As well as the silicone you used to seal the lights back up? Thank you!
I will try and find them both for you mate. Headlights are sealed with Bitumen and you get rolled designed to be used for headlights so should come up with a google.

So what do you do if you have a disco 3 ? You are using discovery 4 headlights, mine has yellow indicator lenses
These are Disco 3 headlights.
Ok so you just aren’t putting the amber bit back once you reassemble

Why the change on an iconic LR3? It’s cool as is…
Not for me unfortunately…. Yet. It’s looking dated without that classic appeal just yet so this helped modernise it a bit.

Are Range Rover L322 headlamps the same as these?
In what way? They’re not the same unit / design / shape. Probably a similar make up.
